Not sure if that counts, publicitary media said things like "they've invaded Rayman's world, now they're invading Earth", suggesting that Rayman's world is not Earth. Rayman's world seems to take place in it's own universe, it also seems to have a connection with the real world that only the rabbids (and Rayman) can access, pretty much like the Sonic series.

It would be pretty awful if the Bubble Dreamer didn't appear in Rayman Legends to explain who the heck the ginger girl is. Can you imagine it? all of the fans calling her "a viking girl" for the eternity.
