The start is quite easy to pass if you do it right, and the Canyon filled with fire just takes a bit of practice and precision. You really need to keep a constant helicopter-free fall system going, because otherwise the spiky tentacle that chases you will catch up. Then after that when your on the falling platform jump diagonally down to the bottom platforms, now you're up to the final (horizontal-ish) part of the fire section.
