Thanks Drool! I'm actually swapping out the bright colours in this area here for very desaturated and glassy ones, because I decided to save the bright extravagance for the last area of the level. For that, expect the newly discovered Rayman 4 concept art resemblances.
There's one thing in particular I want to point out: notice how each drop of ink actually creates its own mark on the surface it hits? Extra detail is extra winkyfaces.
The colours are supposed to be desaturated in this area by the way.
A new track is also featured in the background here. It should be plenty familiar.
The video is schweet, but I think you need a little more contrast in your objects. Maybe even put some outcast, partially bright pencils, rubbers etc in. You know? Right now it seems like a pencil wasteland. But still, keep up the great work!

There are four areas to this level (this is the second), the last of which being the bright and vibrant one. This area is supposed to be wastelandinsh. Thanks though!

When I read "there are four areas to this level" for a second I thought you meant there were only 4 Picture City levels. I get where your going with the wastelandish idea but you should include more types of neglected objects, so as not to bore everyone with it just being pencils.

Das is alright.
I have a query: In regards to a background for Picture City, would I have to commission you to make a background similar to that of the ones from Rayman 1 that I can place around the map, or would that count as a texture?

You mean the sky, right? I'm not sure if that counts as a texture. I guess it could depend on the difficulty.
