Re: The SPORE topic
I was like, 11 or so when it came out, and being as naive as I was back then, I didn't think of EA any less than any other company. All is resolved now though, I absolutely despise EA with all of my heart and soul.

Re: The SPORE topic
Thanks for the offer ikke, but I already kind of "obtained" them. An online website called SimPrograms found it absurd that EA was doing this, and decided to upload the installer. For some reason Maxis must have thought it was unjust too and let the site keep the download link up. So I got it from there. Worked like a charm, but for some reason after installation the game runs much slower. As I said before though, thanks for the offer.

Re: The SPORE topic
xD Well I wasn't expecting that. I guess I'll have to reinstall the game and play a bit more of it one of these days, it'll probably be good for some YT channel material. (Always thinking business in this mind.ikke471 wrote:xD

Re: The SPORE topic
I love SPORE. I have SPORE (special edition with poster, artbook, making of DVD etc.) and SPORE Galactic Adventures and i play them a lot. I love to create new species, buildings etc. My favorite level is the Creature one, because it has so much exploring and interacting with other species. The creatures of mine are usually very big. In Galactic Adventures i love to make my own adventures.
There needs to be Spore 2 definitely!
I found this thread today. If i had found it before i had already discussed a lot more about it.

Re: The SPORE topic
I don't think that EA will ever make a sequel. It would be more probable another expansion pack, but since Electronic Arts and Maxis haven't been giving further novelties and patches, I believe the game ended with the Galactic Adventures expansion.

I think it was Bot Parts that killed it.Haruka wrote:I don't think that EA will ever make a sequel. Why killing?
I liked the Bot Parts patch, even if it wasn't exactly official. I had luck at the time by getting a genuine Dr. Pepper code from a North American friend of mine.

Re: The SPORE topic
It was more of the way they distributed it, being so horribly done that the code was US only, was exclusively in cans of Dr. Pepper (So that they could reap the rewards), and they knew how much the fans wanted a pack such as that. It didn't exactly help when it turned out to be a new patch for the game, either. After the uproar over that we haven't seen any new updates to the game at all, hence why it effectively killed the game.Haruka wrote:Why killing?

Re: The SPORE topic
My opinion is that if The Sims deserved two sequels SPORE deserves at least one. With the right improvement to the sequel SPORE can become the best game ever.
Im not sure do i like more Rayman or more SPORE, but they cant actually be compared, because theyre so different genres.

Re: The SPORE topic
It's a shame SPORE didn't end up how it was meant to be originally:
OK, it wouldn't appeal to the younger audience, but it's certainly indepth.

Re: The SPORE topic
I admit the beta SPORE looked more interesting, but I don't dislike the final game: at least the extra kits and expansion gives a longer longevity to SPORE.
It is a game I like to play ocasionally, when I'm inspired. I still need to unlock the Space Pilot achievement before starting to take serious the Galactic Adventures achievements.

Re: The SPORE topic
I don't hate the final product, in fact, I saw the final product way before the beta, and I like the final Spore, it's just a bit disheartening to see how fleshed out it was initially and how "condensed" the final thing seems to be.
I agree that the expansions do increase playtime, but with only 3 separate parts packs, one being free with a patch, another being promotional and only one being paid for, and just one expansion, it's clear that Spore didn't have the same attention from EA and Maxis as their Sims games do, which again, is a terrible shame.
Darkspore is interesting yes, but in honesty, I want a game which expands on what was given in Spore, and whilst I would like an attempt to reintegrate abandoned concepts, I just want Spore 2 to be "bigger and better", whilst also being "deeper." The ideas given in Spore have great potential if worked upon properly.

Re: The SPORE topic
I was thinking that what if we (Spore owners) show our creations here. Why not posting some pictures of your creatures, buildings, spaceships etc. (not Rayman based but own creations)?

You guys can watch my stuff if you search for HarukaTavares in SPOREpedia.

Not a bad idea, though the PNGs can be rather large in volume.Mammothphant 2 wrote:I was thinking that what if we (Spore owners) show our creations here. Why not posting some pictures of your creatures, buildings, spaceships etc. (not Rayman based but own creations)?

Re: The SPORE topic
Haruka youre very good at making creatures based on favorite characters. My favorite was your Andre. But how did you managed to make Rayman, without limbs?
Unfortunately i cant show my creations right now, because i forgot my Imgur password (havent been using Imgur for a long time). You have to wait a bit. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: The SPORE topic
I had to pick a creation with the limbless glitch (because this only happened in the very early files of the game, before the updates) and modifying it at my way.
