I’d never thought of it that way. Maybe this is part of the reason Origins feels so unreal and restrictive.

I agree. There are still people today, however, that never found all the cages in Rayman 1.

Yeah, they could definitely have found something else?

well, I think rayman 1 looks even more unreal. the maps look more consistent in rayman origins and it makes it easier to find his way around. at the same time it makes it easier to find cages. also it could be the fact levels are much more linear.

Some people just think about money, and you can't do anything about that because you're the good guy and you're not supposed to do anything to other "good" guys. That's why banjo and kazooie never beat the shit out of characters who need help, they just decide to help them and then adquire the famous jiggy collectable. That's also the reason why mario helps tons of people in mario galaxy to get some stars, instead of asking "where the fuck did you find it?!". It's a videogame, there's no explanation for things like that.

Maybe the beetle clock is evil and stole some? and forced rayman to run through the levels just for fun? I don't know, it doesn't really matter :P

This is true, but the noteworthy thing is that Kazooie is a fucking jerk and Banjo oftentimes listens to her. When they saw Gobi trapped in a cage in Witchyworld, Banjo plainly ignored him while Kazooie asked if he has a Jiggy or other kind of reward. Gobi says ''nope'', so Kazooie just tells him to fuck off. Granted, the player can then free him anyway, but there's no dialog leading towards it. Overall, the duo is really jerkish towards Gobi and a few other characters. I can see what you mean, though!

The labyrinthine level design is part of what makes R1 feel like it takes place in a real space. Origins is too momentum-based and streamlined for my liking. You never get to wander around and backtrack and explore like you do in the original.

I love banjo kazooie, and I think Nuts & Bolts is underrated. I would like to have it (I played it) but I don't have an Xbox 360 :(

That just reminds me... I don't like the way how Rayman 3 decided to become like Banjo Kazooie in humour (no offense). Perverted humour is just not for Rayman, seriously. I personally prefer the "90's cartoons" humour in Rayman Origins, and it just makes me wonder how will it be applied in Legends (will the cutscenes require those fully detailed sprites? I think they're not expressive enough for a funny cartoon, unless they want something more "epic" and less "goofy" this time). I hope it has at least more than just 2 cutscenes *sigh* AND MORE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE MAIN CHARACTERS.

Burn the heretic!
On topic, I hope they retain the humour style from RO, it's one of the many unique aspects that RO had which seems to have been mostly dropped from the mainstream these days.
I also think after looking it over I've started to warm up to the art style presented in Legends, though I still prefer the cartoony approach from Origins. But then again I am a cartoony artist so there's your reason as to why I prefer it so much.

However, If they're gonna use Rayman 2's artstyle, I hope they approach it to bring back the "Rayman 2" feeling, and make some other characters return.

I love all Rayman games humor styles, especially R2 and R3, but maybe most of them Rayman 2s heart warming and jovial humor.

Rayman 3 was dirty, I don't know why people like it...oh wait, yeah, it has amazing gameplay. Anyway, I totally hated the whining Globox, the foulmouthed Murphy, André and...gulp... the creepy Begoniax

I know I'm going to be absolutely slaughtered for saying this but I actually kinda liked the Murfy in R3...
Oh God, going off-topic. Really must stop doing that one of these days. :|

Eh, I guess it just depends on your sense of humour whether Rayman 3 clicks for you or not :|. For me, I felt that it was simply trying too hard to be funny, to the point where it kind of felt like one of the more mediocre animated CGI films, like a weak Dreamworks film or something, if you know what I mean :P. I also thought the choice of getting minor Hollywood celebrities to do the voices fell flat on it's face. I mean, John Leguizamo is really not Globox :pfff:!

Murfy was pretty funny in Rayman 3. The rest of the game, not so much.

I like Murfy's personality in Rayman 3 but at the same time I miss the reserved Murfy of Rayman 2. I think that some Globox quotes are funny, but I also think they made him look too stupid in the game.

@Electoon At least in the French voice cast the actor is still the same as in Rayman 2. It was a mistake changing his voice in the English version.

Yes, I think the French voice acting is brilliant in Rayman 3. It gets me every time XD

Rayman 3 had me laughing during the whole game so I'm not gonna complain. Sure, the humour was different from that of the previous games, but so is that of Origins.
