Either that's not a very good computer or it is a great computer with holy water installed into it to repel demonic activity. :fou:

Why did the fries and sausages have faces? Mother of Polokus, they were going to eat living beings! No wonder the food was moving!

Well, *pours holy water over herself* frankly I have no idea what was going on there, but Rayman can sure hold his breath for a long time.

Aha, the terrifying Raymans stories! :fou:

If you want to understand what happen in this activity, here's a little summary.

In the first story, Rayman says that during the night, the moon plays hide-and-seek with stars, planets and asteroids. Our hero has probably taken narcotics.

In the second story, Rayman teaches us that during the night, bees sleep in their beehives, and gather pollen during the day. Yep.

In the third story, Rayman, who got sunburned apparently, says insanities, says insanities, like "butterflies are flying sweets", "lizards are baby dinosaurs", "green beans are fries who fell ill" or "the sun is a balloon". :?

In the fourth story, Rayman has a picnic with... his family! He says he has a brother, a sister, a father and a mother, and he eats with them... Well, we know now that he has a mother, Betilla, but for the others... :? Is it a hallucination? Caused by this mutated or genetically modified food, maybe... :D By the way, HOW can they eat this? It's living!

In the fifth story, it's a starfish, a green crab and a whale who wears dungarees who look a dolphin, a shark and a Baby Globox in a yellow submarine (A reference to The Beatles?).

In the last story, Rayman, who doesn't know how use a snorkel visibly, goes into the ocean to see his friends: Stella the Starfish and Kampi the Sea Horse. And the player must choose with which animals they will play... Just for the starfish and the sea horse in fact, because Rayman is only here to look, apparently. :?: There are some fishes, Balloon the Whale and Gala the Seaweed. It looks like a SpongeBob episode, no?

Well... After Rayman 2, it seems that Rayman doesn't need any more Blue Lums to dive without breathing apparatus. So, there is a little coherence...

In fact, those stories are very instructive for children! And very healthy for their neurons! :D

Okay, it seems even in French, the game doesn't get any less weird. Is this all about Rayman's adventures after he's gone insane :mryellow:?

I really must get around to watching these on another computer now :P

The part I bolded REALLY got me thinking! :?

Temporarily snapping out of his satanic state, Rayman remembers life in the Valley from when he was younger.
He remembers how he was powerless to stop the dark beings from killing off the rest of his kind. Traumatized, he fled the island in a state of despair and eventually made it to a continent inhabited by teensies and glutes. He thought he had found friends to help him cope with the loss of his family, but in reality, the many possessed offspring of 'Globox' were manipulating young Rayman into demonic worship, starting with simple activities such as forming demon-summoning pentagrams in the vegetable gardens. As Rayman grew older, satanism and demonic activity became an everyday part of life, and Rayman's child-like imagination grew into a wild, distorted, somewhat schizophrenic, yet eerily bright and colourful view of the world.

It seems the constant torment by the demons in his soul has led Rayman to a depressed longing for a true family, causing him to fall further into insanity and create an 'imaginary family' in a part of his mind so obscure and dark that he believes he can only maintain it through devouring live organisms, which he sees as food through his hallucinations.

Wow, this game is deeper than I thought... *wipes away a tear*

Sometimes you really concern me :mryellow:

Been watching the first video. Unusually, the prize for the jigsaw game is the same as one of the prizes in Rayman CP (with the animals with the interchangeable heads and bodies). Although in Rayman CP you could get them to animate if you alligned them correctly, and also half the time I couldn't get it to work, much like most of the prizes :P

And sometimes I look back and feel concerned by myself :mryellow:

The animal mix-and-match reminds me of a cartoonier version of the taxidermy game on the old Gorillaz website.

Am I the only one that's a little concerned about the deformed looking instruments?

And please help, an extended version of your story is forming in my mind! Make it stop!

Do tell, Electoon! I am interested to hear what the seed I planted into your soft, squishy brain has grown into!

I believe each of those deformed instruments has it's own story of how it got rejected from Band Land. For example, the guitar once belonged to the hippy in the Blue Mountains, and it dreamed of growing into a Band Land star, but it's dreams were crushed under that rock...
And the piano, that instrument was not allowed into Band Land because it was possessed by demons, so an exorcism was attempted, hence the candles, but it failled horribly and left the piano permanently disfigured, so the people of Band Land banished it to the continent of demonic baby glutes.

Well okay then! But I'd suggest burning it rather than burying, if it's that concerning. Just to be sure.

HAHAHAHA! You got great and funny stories THEdragon.

Its true that the the world of Rayman is really confusing. In R1 he lives in the Valley with other limbless creatures. Then in R2 hes in the Glade of Dreams which is inhabited by glutes, teensies and other no limbless creatures. In the Glades Knowledge it is also said that no one knows where Rayman came from. In R3 there is The Crossroads of Dreams, but it doesnt have much difference from the Glade (or is it Glade with just a different name?). In Rayman Origins there is the Glade again but its map is completely different than the original one ( http://www.rayman-fanpage.de/rayman2/ra ... n2_map.jpg ) and some of its lands are the Valley lands or at least theyre based on them (food, music, mountain). But in this world many limbless (in R1) creatures like Betilla, Moskito and Lividstones exist but they now have limbs and Ales Mansay is a teensy. And in the original Valley, there wasnt any "god" but Polokus (Bubble Dreamer) who was supposed to be the god of the Glade actually exist there.
There are many confusing things about the world of Rayman. It just seems that the makers of Rayman simply create every time a new world by mixing elements and key features from the prievous ones. But its good that some important elements stay always like Globox, Grand Minimus, the great fun, gameplay with countless elements and simply the magic of the world.

Yeah, I don't really think they have much of a care when it comes to continuity with Rayman. They just like making fun games. It's kind of a shame, because it sucks that they had a fully fledged cast and scrapped it for a completely different one (seriously, this really confused my 6 year old self), but there you go I guess. At least Rayman 1 is getting a lot more recognition these days, from both Ubisoft and the fans - that makes me happy :)

I wonder did they made a new world in the cancelled R4 (beta RRR) as well. The world with the dark atmosphered forests and fields looked like the Glade, but it was probably enough different to Ancels team to give at least a new name to the world. It could have been this time...something like...the Island of Dreams? XD
Electoon wrote:Yeah, I don't really think they have much of a care when it comes to continuity with Rayman.
Thats true! Its not a bad thing, but it would be nice to have at least one sequel with more continuity. Thats one more reason why i want R4 prototype back, because there was gonna be some continuity in that game. Andre had been there and he was gonna team up with Rayman.

I agree, I would at least like to see some kind of confirmation on whether or not Rayman is truly the only limbless, because the relic thing in RO and Rayman's girlfriend in the cancelled R4 prototype suggest otherwise.
