No, it just did. In Rayman 3 it works flawlessly, but in Rayman 2, replacing textures didn't work.

Gosh, if I ever need any textures ripped, I know who I need to call! It's funny though how it does work for you and not for us.

Indeed! Though I can only work Rayman 2 in Windows XP, so I would have to follow through with the tedious task of restarting my computer.

So, you mean Rayman 2 from disk? Wait a minute...I think I know what's going on here. 8|

It could be that it won't work for those with Windows 7. Or the GOG version isn't compatible. I could be wrong though.

I have Windows XP so that's not a correct assumption for me. RayFan, the one thing I would always have loved to have is the spark texture that Lums emit (among others) and the Lum texture itself (which is the same for all colour lums and the spark texture fills in for the Super Yellow ones) plus Lum wings. If you could find the time to rip those for me, I'd be very grateful.

Then perhaps it's GOG. I still have my physical copies of R2 and 3. If I can manage to install either one of them, I can test it out with Texmod and hopefully confirm this. I know I can install Rayman 3 to W7, but only when I choose a different language option for installation.

I also use the physical copy of Rayman 2, though not really. I had to bypass some weird CD checking glitch to get it to work after it ceased recognising the CD that was in the tray, so maybe it's actually doing something weird.

I'm using a physical copy as well.

Okay Shroob, I'll try to rip those for you. What do you mean by that "spark thing that lums emit" though?

Actually if you want, I can just let you use my lums texture from ROTD, which is imitated exactly, except it's much higher resolution. The two texture files are separated between the glow and the tile-animated wings. The blinking eyes are also optional.

Ooooh yes please to your textures! :D
I mean I've always wanted the Lum things and since I'm going to use Lums at some point in my own game, it could be useful to have the texture somewhere. In the meantime, I can play with it and use it for other things as the spark's quite a nice texture.

And I meant the following. You know how Super Yellow Lums have that big glowing body with a star-shaped pattern of light in the middle and a more faded but clearly visible circle of light around that? This texture is used as all kinds of sparkling effects and I really like it. It's also used when Rayman respawns, for example.

It's very kind of you offering to give me your textures. Thanks a lot. I don't really like the eyes on most Lums except Purple, but when you say optional, I'm assuming you mean they are a seperate file that's just pasted on, right? So for the record: the Lum texture, the eyes, wings and the spark texture (if you can get that) please.

I'll grab the sparks later, but for now, here are the lum textures, sir Shroobert!

Okay this is odd, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to install Rayman 2 to Windows 7 from a disk but I'm actually managing to do it without any hassle right now. You guys will hear from me if I can play it, and if I can, see what it does with Texmod.

I think it's x64 that's the problem, not necessarily Windows 7 itself (I'm not sure of this, someone else might want to confirm). What do you have?

But that's the funny thing: My Computer is a x64.

By the way, Texmod didn't work, the game itself did. I'm installing Rayman 3 from disk now, again without any hassle, despite from the last time I tried to do this.

Edit: Okay, both games work for some odd reason, but that's a nice thing! Texmod doesn't though. So it's got nothing to do with which OS or Gog/Disk version you have. And we're back at the start. :(

Ooooooh thanks RayFan! I'm going to have fun with these! :)
That's an odd but conveniant anomaly of a computer you have there, Spanex. Too bad TexMod doesn't work. Then again, we are trying to hack into a game - we shouldn't expect this to be easy.

Which reminds me, Droolie, have you had any luck ripping textures yet?

The N64 texture pack is available somewhere... I'd have to dig into my old posts to find it :P
The PC versions of Rayman 2, 3 and M use some kind of archive (*.cnt) which was thought to be deciphered as we can get to the filenames of the textures - while the actual textures couldn't be found. I think I have an idea though, I'll work on it this summer (after ze exams). :D

I thought I buy Rayman 2 from PSN for 5€, but now I'm thinking could my PC play it without any problems. However I don't like playing on computer, because I can't make myself comfortable in a computer chair.

My computer is supposed to be so good, but my old laptop (whose on my cat threw up) played everything better :mryellow: Well, nothing lags, but I'm having some graphical and overheating issues.

And reason why I don't play Revolution is that I don't want to.

I'm assuming you brought the PS1 rerelease on PSN, not the Revolution remake.
Either way, note that both PlayStation versions differ heavily to other versions.
