It's funny how simple some things like a sink can give off the impression of a cave or even bubbling lava with the right touching and toning. It's amazingly simple to create stunning sound effects if you know what you're looking for. I'll always remember how the classic cartoon sound is created that portrays the character chattering his teeth: they spam their fist on a perforator.
I actually recognised one of the drips from the music in Whale Bay in your recordings. And I guess this is the exact same way the people at UbiSoft did it (or quite probably it was Chevalier's own initiative).

Now that I managed to listen to it at home, I must say it all sounds very realistic. This game is bound to become one of the best fan-mades.

I'm attempting to teach myself how to rig, and so far I've been successful rigging a pretty basic cylinder to move like an arm.

Do you watch rigging tutorials on YouTube? I find those very very helpful.

Yes. I found one that let you rig a tube in 2 minutes. I'm looking for more advanced stuff but I'm not going to tackle them until I get the hang of basic rigging.

Hey, RayFan, what type of microphone do you use to record your voice? I know you have two different mic setups (and 3 mics). You mentioned it was a condenser microphone, so I'm going to go ahead and guess it was a large-diaphragm one too. Which model is it? I'm asking since I'm looking into mics myself now that I'm wanting to record my voice (for 'movies') and my songs (i.e. singing, not instruments). I've looked around a few places and they all seem to suggest I'll want a condensor mic with a large diaphragm. I'm assuming you have a windshield too to prevent pops and the like - which one?

Thanks, your opinion could certainly help since you've been using your mics to record all kinds of crazy shite and I think maybe I'd like to do that too some time (but let's just assume I'll only want it for voicing and singing).

I don't think you need a mic as expensive as this one though.

Yeah I was going to say - that looks a tad expensive for my needs. But thanks anyway.
I looked at the specs - it has in-built windshields, shockdampers and other things you would need to consider buying anyway, and maybe buying all those things individually would amount to the same kind of cash. I'll look around some more then.

Trying to work on background, but life's getting in the way. :| Ahem..

I've about finished the mountains, and nearly done sketching the painting tools. I believe after finishing them the image should be done. Am I forgetting anything?

P.S. It'd also be nice if you could finally respond, 'cause I've asked a few times now about the more important textures and I really would like to know what you think of them. It's difficult to continue on them without your two cents on it.

Great! I can't wait to see the result. :D This is one of the textures I'm most anticipating.

Yep yep, every single a capella piece is similar to Spiralmouth.

[/sarcasm]
I like it though.

But this does REALLY sound like it! The first thing I thought of was a scene of the game where Cortex gets his brain out of his head :)

All in all, this does seem similar to the Twinsanity Island theme number 1, right when you start in the Lavaberg Lab. But there's a shitton of pieces like this so any resemblance isn't really noteworthy.

(by the way, lately I've been using emoticons only not to sound heartless)

How's the progress with the background?

Also, I just finished the model of the head:

In the end he will have ragged blue/brown/grey feathers on his head to give the appearance of tattered age.

Drawing from about a year ago; my anatomy has improved since:

Finishing up the painting tools. After that I'm going to add in the last details.
