Re: Rayman Legends
I would enjoy playing as Ly, though I honestly can't say I'm pining for it or anything. It would however show that the developers are trying to connect the series somehow, not isolate it further.

(Taken from the Origins thread)Rayfanboy wrote:IGN has revealed that it's been delayed until November, coinciding with the release of Rayman Legends.
Hmm - so is it confirmed now that this game is going to be released at that time? It sounds like an awfully small timeframe in which to create a whole new game - mind you, we've only known about it for half a year or so and it's already looking like it's almost finished.
PS
Spiral's one post short from having 11111 posts! The binary truth is nigh!

Compare the development cycles of Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus.Shrooblord wrote:Hmm - so is it confirmed now that this game is going to be released at that time? Re: Rayman Legends
Wow, that must have been cruel to the developers. Have you played both games? Were they both just as good, or was one rushed?

Re: Rayman Legends
The gameplay and graphics are very similar – almost identical – but the sequel is a significantly better game and has a good deal more content.
Re: Rayman Legends
I make you sure Shrooblord that both Oddysee and Exoddus are fantastic, but Exoddus is a huge improvement and it is my favourite of the saga.

Re: Rayman Legends
I don't think it's a small timeframe. I mean, we've only know about it for like half a year, but that doesn't mean it wasn't in development before. Maybe even Michel had another idea while he was making Rayman Origins and wanted to work on it separately and that became Rayman Legends. Who knows, maybe they are working on the third 2D title right now

Re: Rayman Legends
In all seriousness, that could actually work. I mean, what they've got is a fine engine to supply them with all their programming needs, a large team of developers, a somewhat finished art style and a set of music they're obviously just remixing. So what they could do next is just pump out game after game without putting too much effort into it. Why not, I guess.

It's a good thing job's are very easy to get in America. I'll definetly start saving up! Though I can totally understand most people not being able to purchase it.Haruka wrote:Spanex said all. Rayfist, unfortunately I think there's only a small minority of the people in the forum that will be able to buy a Wii U in release or few time later.Spanex wrote:That's nice for you. But what of those who are eager to play the game but won't be able to afford the console, at least not right away? Or what if they don't want to buy it at all?Rayfist wrote: Whoa, chill. Like I said, I honestly don't mind if this is a exclusive, I think it's a wonderful opportunity for us to buy a Wii-U.
The price is rumoured to be about 300€, and it is quite expensive. As much as a PS Vita with 3G connection.
I would never give 300€ or more for a game console: 300€ is a LOT of videogames. If I ever get a Wii U, I would rather prefer to wait for a good price cut, and until there Rayman Legends can get much more cheaper. I believe that this time I won't have other choice other than watching walkthrough videos in YouTube at the time of the game's release, with all my pity. I can't steal a bank either. I also refuse to buy Wii U in release after the attitude of Nintendo towards the first Nintendo 3DS buyers. Even if they tried to reward us with 20 free games, I felt scammed. Not to mention that the production cost of a 3DS was said to be 75€ and made by slavery hand-working by Foxconn employees. The difference doesn't go for them for sure.
Re: Rayman Legends
If you're not interested in buying a Wii U right now (As I'm going to be pre-ordering on the first day possible), waiting for a price cut is defenitely a better choice. Adding a whole system to your collection just to play one game is a lot of money. I'm pretty sure that by a year or so they'll take off a good 100€ at best. Plus that if you're not a real Nintendo gamer, the games released with the console are quite dissapointing.
Is Rayman Legends going to be a launch game? It isn't listed on Amazon. Then again, they claim that "Super Mario Bros. Mii" will be released on it, which was a E3 Demo to show the graphics and gameplay.

That's the name of the game? Jesus, Mario has put themselves in an even worse position than The Simpsons. They've long overstayed their welcome.RayTunes wrote:"Super Mario Bros. Mii"

Actually, that's the old beta name, the game is now called "New Super Mario Bros. U"RayFan9876 wrote:That's the name of the game? Jesus, Mario has put themselves in an even worse position than The Simpsons. They've long overstayed their welcome.RayTunes wrote:"Super Mario Bros. Mii"
I don't see what's the point of the word "New" in the logo, I mean, it was necessary the first time, because it was supposed to bring mario back to his original 2d roots. Now, 2d mario games are so common that the word "New" seems pointless.
BTW, it's good to know that someone confirmed the release date of Rayman Legends!!
Oh, yeah, the Wii U pro Controller was redesigned, it no longer looks like an Xbox 360 controller:

In my opinion, it looks better, and the buttons are placed in a more confortable way.

Re: Rayman Legends
Yes, the word "New" is definitely pointless. They should totally finish Mario and start a new freaking franchise, Mario is getting boring now. It's the most repetitive shit I've seen in my life because all the games are the same but with different areas.sergiomonty wrote:Actually, that's the old beta name, the game is now called "New Super Mario Bros. And the E3 controller looks the same to me.

Sony also copied Nintendo in one point, with PS Move.

That's sadly how things work there. Nintendo innovates and Sony and Microsoft copy.Mammothphant 2 wrote:Sony also copied Nintendo in one point, with PS Move.
Re: Rayman Legends
But this copying habit makes more breathing room for players since it means games don't have to stick to one console.TeensieKing wrote:That's sadly how things work there. Nintendo innovates and Sony and Microsoft copy.Mammothphant 2 wrote:Sony also copied Nintendo in one point, with PS Move.

Nintendo's features I would place half way between an innovation and a gimmick. I wouldn't go nearly so far as to say what you said, because that's just plain false. Nintendo is ridiculously hit-and-miss at the moment, but what they're doing with the Wii U might change that.TeensieKing wrote:That's sadly how things work there. Alright look, Nintendo clearly 'copied' Microsoft and Sony with the controller design. What do you have to say for yourself?

Re: Rayman Legends
For myself I only have to say 'ok'. I'm not any Nintendo fanboy or anything, I just like whatever that comes my way. I only have to say I think that was a wise move, I love playing with a normal controller and I'll probably do it most of the time. I would have copied the PS3 controlled but it's alright. That Microsoft and Sony copy Nintendo isn't plain false, it's a fact. That barely come up with their own ideas, they prefer copying Nintendo's or recycling them from their older consoles. Also, that's good because players aren't restricted to one console, but it's bad because you have few actually different options. But I'll just deal with it.RayFan9876 wrote:Nintendo's features I would place half way between an innovation and a gimmick.
