Yes, but I fail to see what beauty has to do with this. I'm sure you can tell by his personality that it would not fit at all. Here's a little test audio conversation between Rayman and Rhook from the script: http://soundcloud.com/rayfan9876-absolu ... ook-rayman

Thanks for your correction. Now I think Rhook's appearance should have a more mystical feeling to it, I don't really know how to explain it. With beautiful I don't mean cute, but like cool, magestic.

On the conversation test, Rhook's voice sounds very good. However, I think Rayman's voice should be a little bit deeper to fit with Rayman's voice in Rayman 2. Well, I don't really know how English cast sounds like, I'll check soon.

Quoting RF, Rayman is supposed to sound ''wimpy'' here. Now imagine, TeeKay, that all your friends are dead and your home is burnt to a terrifying pile of ashes, and you desperately search for a last resort to try and save everything, but you are almost sure there is no chance. Is your voice just regular, deep, etc., or is it high, wimpy and on the edge of crying?

Unless you're Arnold Schwarzenegger. COCAINUM.

Yeah, have you ever even heard Rayman 2's gibberish?

You mean when they say those nonsensical words instead of having voice act?

Oh, I like the concluded "It has been foretold and always will be." Was that line inspired by what we were puzzling over just the other day, or did you think of this way before? Also, RayFan, may I suggest you get a windscreen when you go in to record the actual lines for the game? The pops you hear that are caused by the p's and such consonants needn't be in that recording, and a popfilter/windscreen will prevent them. Of course, you could also move a little further away from the mic, but that will only lessen the quality of the overall recording.

It's funny how this conversation is so slow-paced for its situation. In modern-day standards, such monologues usually only take up a minute or so, not two. This sounds far more natural.

Rayfan, I have decided to skip past Music Mountain so I can finish more of the book and finish Music Mountain when I have come up with a plot for it. Also I noticed that you have music for the Shutter Cave made. Will it be in the next soundtrack part? If it will be then I won't listen to it until then.

RayFan, the third part of the level designing will be twice as long, and will include the...
Gemstone Temple - A small lost temple buried deep in the shrouded entanglement of the Dream Forest, is layered with puzzles, tricks, and traps.
Puzzles, tricks, and traps. That's all I want and need.

You're doing the level design, Rulez? How do you design? With a program or with drawings or with ideas?

Well, I'm technically only a sub-plotter and slightly character designer, but I help with designing not the levels itself, but the small parts of them. Quoting Bingham: ''I usually have trouble coming up with clever/challenging level design''. So I basically draw out small maps and write stuff with it, describing them. I already did a small amount of stuff for The Dream Forest Depths and the Ice Volcano, but only the basics (on and two small details for Shutter Cave but that isn't enough to count). I will come back to them shortly, but first I want to do everything necessary for Gemstone Temple.

Cool, so you come up with some basic ideas that then inspire her to make it more extensive and brilliant? That's something neat right there! Good job, pal.

Also, RayFan, have you worked on those suggestions people gave you a while back when you requested new enemies to be thought up by the people's union of Pirate Communists? I'm interested to see how the sketches people sent in are coming to life.

Yus, more Shutter Cave music will be in the next part. Go ahead!

Yus actually. I just started working on them again about three days ago, and I'm almost finished yours.

I had updated the script at that point, yes. Also, I do have a pop filter, but I couldn't find it for some reason.

I've never been a fan of how fast scenes these days move along. I adore the feeling of watching an old movie and hearing all the natural breaks and pauses that let you absorb the atmosphere. Now, the dialogue all wants to be rushed at you as fast as possible.

Yeah, I can imagine. Sometimes, these fast-paced lines are filled in just perfectly, with just the right suspense, but usually it's just rush, rush, rush. I don't like really old movies because they're a tad too slow-paced for me, but I can see the lure in them.

I'm sorry to say, but I just don't like the plot that you've given the game. It just seems a bit too fanfic-y to me.

THE HERO FINDS A FEMALE VERSION OF HIM AND THEY FALL IN LOVE

THE BIG BADGUY (who is better than all the other badguys) KILLS ALL THE HERO'S FRIENDS

THE HERO BECOMES ALL MOPEY AND DEPRESSED

Those are the THREE big no-nos when you write a story based on a cartoony franchise like Rayman.

First of all Rayman and Raven do not fall in love. Secondly Rayman being depressed adds a lot of emotion that one does not see that much in a Rayman game.

R3fan2, can you remove that? I don't want that spoiler told here. And no, in the game, Rayman enters alone. I'm just asking this because I want to leave the main events a mystery for the player to find out.

EDIT: Thanks.

You clearly haven't looked into this at all, and you have no idea what you're talking about.

THE HERO FINDS A FEMALE VERSION OF HIM AND THEY FALL IN LOVE
They do not fall in love. In fact, they are uneasy around each other because they are so different. You jumped to that completely irrelevant 'love' conclusion yourself.
THE BIG BADGUY (who is better than all the other badguys) KILLS ALL THE HERO'S FRIENDS
This is a stereotype? I've never actually notably heard of it before. Anyway, he doesn't go off with the intent to kill Rayman's friends, he literally destroys the entire Dream Forest, which includes a whole section of his army, almost all of Rayman's friends, and everything else that resides in the giant jungle. Also, here's a little debriefing on Dark Rayman: He is extremely powerful and ambitious, and he has no idea how to control said power. Remember, Dark Rayman, while being the exact opposite of Rayman, is still the same 'age' as Rayman, has the same maturity level, and is just as capable at accomplishing things as Rayman was. Considering the fact that Rayman was able to defeat all the other enemies, it's a give-in that Dark Rayman is more powerful than the other bad guys, because he's just as powerful as Rayman. However, as someone who is in control and has such an influential position as the 'head bad guy,' he's far too immature to handle it properly.
THE HERO BECOMES ALL MOPEY AND DEPRESSED
Would this not happen after the above? I mean, use your head. There is no instance in which anyone with a normally functioning mind would not mope over something like that; a lack of emotional reaction is just poor writing with a complete misunderstanding of basic, basic, basic psychology. This event was actually somewhat inspired by Hiroshima. All the heavy things that happen in this game are subtle hinting as to why he, in Rayman 2, seems much more serious and mature, which then begins to lift when he becomes more teenish and relaxed in Rayman 3.
Those are the THREE big no-nos when you write a story based on a cartoony franchise like Rayman.
Are they? I don't recall having set of commandments posted for this. As far as I, and any half-experienced writer know, those areas you mentioned aren't 'no-nos,' but simply areas to be careful of. But to go along with that, the 'LOVE' thing you stated is false, the 'KILLING FRIENDS AND BEING BETTER THAN OTHERS' is respectively 1) out of context, 2) false, and becoming 'MOPEY AND DEPRESSED' is a god damn give-in for every reason stated above.

Your use of caps when describing what you think I'm doing is also reeaallly emphasising your point here.

Sorry, but I just found your post somewhat infuriating because of how wrong it is on so many levels.
