Quite reasonable. The first time 'Bzzit' (or whatever his name really is) fights you, its for his own reasons. Then you become friends with him. Then Mr. Dark takes 'control' of him and forces him to attack you again.
This same Moskito remembers you in The Great Escape.

One thing out of place here, is why this same Moskito lives in two different place. Moskito's Nest has to be his actual lair, but is the caves in Anguish Lagoon just some other location he happens to be present in?
Holy sith. This does make sense.

I was absolutly sure that the red Mosquito was another one, controlled by Mister Dark. And I'm still sure of it, but after reading this... :confus:

So was I. I get what everyone here is trying to say, but there are those couple of things that say otherwise:

1. Why the Moskito was in 2 different places (One actually being called Moskito's nest)

2. Why it attacked Rayman the second time, after already being friends with it.

3. Its colour? (Still a mystery)

I think the Moskito boss was made the same way as Dark Rayman.

I one-hundred percent agree. I never thought that I'd come across another person who finds this to be the obvious intent.

I'm sure of that because in Atari Jaguar version, the very first Rayman version released, both in the Spiky Dry Fruit pursuit and the Moskito's Nest battle the Moskito is red-coloured. In other versions, like PS1, in the pursuit the Moskito is strangely coloured as Bzzit. It would not make sense if it was Bzzit doing the pursuit or fighting in the Moskito's Nest.
In my ps1 version, they're different colors as well.

Yeah, the PC version completely missed out the alternate colouration, the PS1 got the colouration but still foolishly miscoloured the one in the Moskito chase, and only the Jaguar kept the two properly separate. How they goofed up like that, I have no idea.

I disagree, personally. If you beat Moskito in Anguish Lagoon, you can still play the flying segment with Bzzit if you backtrack. In the other levels, whenever you defeat a boss, all stages with that boss are gone if you backtrack. This happens in Twilight Gulch and Allegro Presto.

I personally think that the first miniboss is just some random Moskito, but not the Moskito. As Rayman 2 is relatively unconnected to the first game, I don't really think that Bzzit was intended to be the miniboss in the first game.

But, fuck, it's just Rayman 1. The story isn't really that important. :P

Not during the chase sequence. ;)
