Rayman 3, a prequel to Rayman 2?
I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. I was reading the post about Rayman's age, where it was mentioned that Rayman was possibly an adult in Rayman 2, and a teen in Rayman 3. That's when it hit me. What if Rayman 3 was a prequel to Rayman 2!
That would explain how if Origins is after Rayman 3, and Rayman 2 is after that, then that's why Rayman didn't know who Polokus was; because he had only known him as the bubbledreamer (who still look completely different by the way).
And that might be also why Rayman might look older in Rayman 2, than he does in Rayman 3.

Firstly, this makes absolutely no sense, and secondly:maxxyboy1000 wrote:I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. Anyone care to discuss?
You realise that that thread is completely based on opinion, right? And no, it was confirmed by Michel Ancel that the games are sequential.maxxyboy1000 wrote:I was reading the post about Rayman's age, where it was mentioned that Rayman was possibly an adult in Rayman 2, and a teen in Rayman 3. Well, it's just one of those moments when I thought, "Oh my gosh, I think I might be onto something"Firstly, this makes absolutely no sense

This is "bulls", and definitely not "eye".

These convoluted timeline theories have been around for years but they’re too nonsensical to stand up to any real scrutiny.maxxyboy1000 wrote:That would explain how if Origins is after Rayman 3, and Rayman 2 is after that, then that's why Rayman didn't know who Polokus was; because he had only known him as the bubbledreamer (who still look completely different by the way).
For example:
During R2, Rayman meets Murfy, the Grand Minimus and Polokus for the first time.
At the beginning of RO, Rayman already knows Murfy, the Grand Minimus and Polokus.
How does this fit into your theory?

So, Maxxyboy, by your given timeline, Polokus went to sleep after RO?
Re: Rayman 3, a prequel to Rayman 2?
It wouldn't make sense because of what Spiral and Master said. Rayman already knows the mosquito species aswell.

For me Rayman looks younger in R2 than in R3.

Hey, it was my post, wasn't it?
I think you can put these things to your own timeline, so you can personally think how things are, but the official answer should be based on things that we know.
In Rayman 3 his look had to be updated in order to look him appealing to the audience and games style. Games can have some continuity errors, like in Origins, there's lums. In three levels you can collect more than 1,000 lums and heart of the world is intact.

Re: Rayman 3, a prequel to Rayman 2?
That one’s easily solved: the Lums in Rayman Origins aren’t the same as the Yellow Lums in Rayman 2.
Re: Rayman 3, a prequel to Rayman 2?
To be honest I still prefer the original Lums of Rayman 2 than the ones of Origins. They looked much more... respectable. If you know what I mean.

So did pretty much everything including rayman himselfHaruka wrote:To be honest I still prefer the original Lums of Rayman 2 than the ones of Origins. They looked much more... respectable. If you know what I mean.

That was an... iffy bump.

Haha I was bored during the day and decided to post on like ten threads at once, even if it seemed pointless, I do apologize.
