I couldn't be happier!!!!
I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY EXTRACTED ALL OF THE MUSIC FROM RAYMAN ARENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To extract that correctly like I just did is something I have been trying to do for a whole year.
I had to decipher the whole format which is the hardest thing you can imagine. Then I had to write stuff to extract it. In total, I had to write an enormous QuickBMS script, an equally enormous Java program and a DOS batch file. But all this wonderful, shiny treasure is totally worth it.
All versions of Rayman 3 have a very similar format, which means I can easily extract that too now - and guess what that means? It means RayTunes will soon have complete and high quality versions of the Rayman M/Arena and Rayman 3 soundtracks!
*listens to a clearer version of Spellbound Forest and the new variations on the Teensies' theme*

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Wooo! Arena was my favourite of all the soundtracks. I'll put those on YouTube next, just get them on RayTunes first!
Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Well done Droolie!
Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Hey everyone,
I've already done the battle and menu tracks but right now, I'm having trouble ordering some songs correctly, so I have to ask for your help.
This archive contains 2 race songs from the crypts (beginner league): Razorbeard's theme and the Teensies' theme.
https://www.box.com/s/7748b63163ab9e905a80
You'll see that the filenames are structured like this:
C(Crypt)_ Pt(Teensies)/Rb(Razorbeard) and then VX_1, VX_2, V2, C1_1, C1_2, C2, or So.
Almost every race theme has all of that (some don't have VX_2 and C1_2).
It's very likely that VX_1 and VX_2 belong together and so do C1_1 and C1_2. I have also noticed VX_2 sounds a lot like V2 and C1_2 sounds a lot like C2.
My question is, what order do you think they should be in?
My ear for music tells me it's C1 - VX - V2 - C2 - So. I have no idea what to do with VX_2 and C1_2 though.
I have tried listening to youtube videos but apparently VX plays first in the game. That sounds kind of strange to me so I have no idea what I should do. I also haven't heard VX_2 and C1_2 anywhere in the game. So, what do you think?

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Droolie, I know what VX_2 is. When the character's song ends after 24 or so seconds, in comes a sort of in-between track, and when it plays long enough, it changes to VX_2 for the character you're playing, correct? This might be the order in the game:
VX - C1 - V2 - C2 - So
But we also need to include VX_2 and C1_2. How about:
VX - VX_2 - C1 - C1_2 - V2 - C2 - So
It fits the track names, and it might sound good in use. What do you think?

Yeah, I thought the same thing, but VX_2 and C1_2 seem to be in the wrong place when I listen to it.Rulez wrote:Droolie, I know what VX_2 is. I think it could be VX - C1 - VX_2 - V2 - C1_2 - C2 - So ... but let's see what the others think.

I also think it could be in the order what were you saying.Drolpiraat wrote: I think it could be VX - C1 - VX_2 - V2 - C1_2 - C2 - So ... but let's see what the others think.
Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Will you maybe share this script? I'd like to mess around with the individual files of all those tracks and hopefully Rayman 3. Would be great for remixes as well, those smaller files. :3

Alright, I'll upload the files I used when I'm done with the soundtrack.AniCator wrote:Will you maybe share this script? I'd like to mess around with the individual files of all those tracks and hopefully Rayman 3. Would be great for remixes as well, those smaller files. :3
I'm currently trying to finish putting all the Rayman M race themes together. Luckily the Rayman Arena versions of the race themes will be easier to do.
By the way: I was playing around with the latest revision of Virtual Jaguar a couple of days ago and surprisingly, it plays the music really well now on my laptop - and I found a really good way to record it without any sound effects or slowdown from the game itself getting in the way as well (pausing the emulation will not stop the music from playing). That means I'll finally get the Rayman Jaguar music after I finish the Rayman M/Arena soundtrack.

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
That is excellent news!
I've always wondered how the Jaguar version sounded.

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
I already ensured a good while ago (maybe for an year?) that the newest VJ was capable to play the music without any glitches, so it would be a great opportunity to add the Jaguar soundtrack to RayTunes.

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Thisi awesome news, but I have a question about Rayman Arena OST. Will you make every version of someone's theme as a separated song (like Rayman's Haunted Theme, Beach Theme, Forest Theme etc.) or a mix of songs like in the original OST?

The names used in the files are "crypt", "lagoon", "pirate", "factory" and "bonus". I'll probably base my naming on those

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
Do the character themes that were originally on RayTunes start with the "C" files?
Because these files are only played after after crossing the first checkpoint. When the race starts, the other theme is played first (so I think that would be the "V" files)
I tried to compile one of Rayman's race themes the way I envisioned it in Audacity once, but I don't know if the Rayman Arena files have the same naming scheme as the Rayman M .wav files. The only thing I know is that the order in which the original RayTunes versions of the race themes were played was probably wrong.
(Kind of coincidential: Not knowing about this topic, I happened to think about the Rayman M music tracks today and thought how awesome it would be if they were to be updated to play the tracks in the proper order

Re: UPDATES - New Rayman M/Arena OST coming soon!
You're right, the order is currently very wrong on RayTunes. The real order is VX -> C1 -> V2 -> C2 -> So. I'm currently busy joining the 1-second segments of the Rayman Arena race music together into those separate V/C pieces, it shouldn't take too long until I can finally start joining those pieces together and ultimately finish the soundtrack once and for allDecidetto wrote:Do the character themes that were originally on RayTunes start with the "C" files?
