Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Hey Drools, during the waterplane ride to Victoria, I decided to draw a little picture of Blue: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4017/dscf1254zx.jpg
Sorry for the incredibly raw format, I don't exactly have a scanner with me. I might colour it when I get home.

Damn, that's a nice one. I spend my plane rides looking out the window for 5 minutes and then having some futile attempts to sleep.RayFan9876 wrote:Hey Drools, during the waterplane ride to Victoria, I decided to draw a little picture of Blue: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4017/dscf1254zx.jpg

Thanks a lot for making the first fanart of this ever look so delicious!

Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Hah, thanks Drools!
Do you think it might be a possibility to share the script when it maybe reaches 30% persay? I'm just saying from my point of view, it's nice to have an earlier look to point out positives/negatives that therefore could affect the whole story in the long run. Say, for example, there's a rather large, unnoticed plothole, and that could affect things later and such.
I'm not trying to make this sound like an excuse to see it early eheh!

Thanks a lot Haruka and Master!

I could share part of it when I finish writing for the the third world (I only just started writing for the second one :/) which is the end of the first major "part" (out of four) of the game.
I'm not sure yet though as that first part will be changed quite a bit while I'm writing the next ones - I don't think everyone will bother re-reading the first part next time...
Hehe, I doubt there will be any major plothole as I've had RayWiki at my side since the very beginning.RayFan9876 wrote:Hah, thanks Drools!

I just had a heart-attack.
Good job we've always got some spare hearts lying about in the freezer, eh! Seriously though, those are both some really nice pieces of artwork. I love the 'roughness' that Droolie's carries with it, even though it's incredibly detailed. That art style, as RayFan pointed out, reminds me of how the people behind Origins (and Legends) do their backgrounds. At the base level, it's all very rougly shaded, but from afar, the result is an amazingly detailed picture. I like the way you've kept truthful to anatomy, RayFan. The hand stands out in this. The eyes are also really nice and the hair. THE HAIR!
Keep it coming, guys! This is all true eyecandy.
Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Thanks a lot Shroob! I'll spend more time writing the script from now on but I'll make sure to deliver some more eyecandy too while I'm at it!
Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Alright, it's time for another one of those posters:

Ah yes, the astronomer. Staring into space. Space. Space is an interesting concept. So many stars, so many dots of light - yet an immeasurable darkness between them. Space is an interesting concept indeed.
Yes, normally, he could stare all day through this wonderful telescope of his. The walking telescope - his own invention. It harnesses the power of the stars - the power of Nova - to make it walk. To make it live. Ah, but enough talk of science.
Today, a different matter has been troubling him. Not only has one of his experiments gone wrong (the smoke is terrible!), but he also found a cage. It was sealed shut with that very same power of Nova. In it was a popolopoï, a butterfly. More and more of those cages have been spotted lately. But why in Polokus' name would one lock up the most harmless animals in the world with such a powerful force?
Oh! But I guess I should talk about the astronomer himself, right? Well, he's got quite the chaotic mind (that's why the picture is so chaotic). An old mind. The astronomer has been in the Glade for many, many years and has lived through many, many adventures. Some say he's older than the second moon - but that is just a story. It is true that many believe he has some kind of secret, but none have found it yet. For those who want to sneak up on him and look through his stuff when he falls asleep: don't. The little bell hanging from his beard alerts him from any intruders. Leave the old man be. You probably wouldn't find anything bad about him, anyway...

He looks great! The scenes and worlds you imagine are quite wonderful. They've got that little hint of magical absurdity that I feel in Tim Burton's works too. I'm curious to see what this will turn out to become.

Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
My word, that image is beautiful! Like Shroob said, it gives that same sense of mystery you might see from something Tim Burto; the pillars stand tall, and the viewers just wonder how tall, or where this even is. The ground level is a mystery.
Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Thanks
Haha RayFan, I can say the same thing about a lot of screenshots I've seen from your game, the Temporal Palace especially
Here's hoping I'll be able to do the same in-game...

Ooh, I really like this! I like the Popolopoï there.
the art is great and I like the character.
Re: DREAMBOUND - Rewriting (15%)
Thanks guys!

Yep, there are lots of Popolopoï in the game. They're the ones trapped in the cages in Dreambound. Lots and lots of cages. Lots and lots of butterflies.Rulez wrote:I like the Popolopoï there.
Indeed, and I have a good reason for this.BzzitTheMoskito wrote:and how he is rayman species

While I'm slowly coming up with a really weird but kind of awesome way to tell the backstory of some characters, here's another picture. I rushed this one a bit but somehow it looks really pretty.

That's Lily by the way. The "Star Lady" is the name Green, the talking garden gnome, gives her. The name kinda sticks.
Although she does look like Alya from one of my other drawings, her relationship to her remains a mystery. To you, at least.
This doesn't actually happen in the story. Although both of them are alone in there for a while, it doesn't get as romantic. Well, maybe it does. A little. Well - consider this this game's Rayman and Ly concept art.
The picture has a lot of symbolism, too. And hidden secrets. And a nice-looking area.
While time has taken its toll on this area, some hints in the picture still show that this is a very familiar area for a lot of us Rayman fans...
