I experienced the same glitches in my game. I think the most messed up thing in this port were the upside down textures and the impossibility to get the 1000th Lum in a normal way. Yes, you barely listen the sound effects if you don't configure the music to almost mute volume.Decidetto wrote:Hmm, seeing your comments on Rayman 3D makes me wonder if I have a bugged out copy of it.
Some issues I have found with my copy:Am I just being too nitpicky for my own good?
- The intro cutscene stops before having fully zoomed in on the Buccaneer (so you see pipes instead of just black);
- When transitioning from one area to the other (like going to the first piranha area in the Fairy Glade), the music instantly cuts off and switches, instead of waiting till the next measure;
- The textures for the cages are upside-down;
- The textures for the big Yellow Lums' and Purple Lums' wings are inverted as well;
- The fish textures are rather messed up, like Bzzit already posted;
- Several sound effects are so quiet, they are barely audible (for example, Rayman firing an energy ball)
I never ran into the game breaking glitch in the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire though.
And I really like that the level geometry is even more detailed than in the DreamCast version. That is a great thing about this version

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Here are some things I found:
- Inivisble bombs
- Rain glitching in the Iron Mountains
- No music
- A certain song always playing after a certain song from fighting robo pirates
- The overworld song played double on the menu after the bonus minigame
- Taking damage from a sign
It also irritates me that you don't see the name of the level until you enter it.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
So Rayman 3D isn't worth getting? I'm getting a 3DS for my birthday next week and I'm getting Rabbids 3d for it but I don't know if it's worth getting R3D.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Thanks for reminding those stuff, it is more messed up stuff I couldn't remind.RayTunes wrote: - Inivisble bombs

Concerning the level name, have you tried to press the B button? Something good will happen.
@Yoshidude
Rayman 3D isn't as bad as Rayman DS but as long as you buy Rayman 3D cheap, it is not a bad buying at all. I got mine days after the 3DS release for 18€, factory sealed.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
It is not a bad game by any means (gameplay is fine, except for the 1000th Lum being glitchy (but I still managed to get it
) and the possibility of crashing). There are just a lot of little annoyances, but they are so little, that someone who never played the original game probably wouldn't notice them.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Exactly. I lost the count of how many times I did one hundred percent-gameplay in R2TGE that it is impossible for me to not notice these "minor" details.

One gameplay aspect that I absolutely detest though is that when Rayman falls into piranha water, lava, acid etc., he loses all his health and respawns with a full health bar. Where is the challenge in that!? (Not to mention that it is easily exploitable: "Oh, I have just an inch of health left. Let's jump into this bottomless pit so I get it all back!")

Re: What games are you currently playing?
In my opinion remakes should be about improving, not doing the opposite. In R3D and R3HD they removed lot of great stuff (Globox village, Wanna kick Rayman videos etc.) and added glitches and issues that were never in the games original versions themselfs. Thats why i think Ubi screwed up R3D and R3HD, because they couldnt keep them at least in the same level of their original versions.
For me the best Rayman remake which is also the best Rayman game and also one of the best games ever is Revolution, because it makes the original R2 bigger and better without remowing anything. Thats the way how Ubi should make all their remakes.

Agreed.
But in Rayman Revolution, the level music is GONE on subsequent visits!

I agree with Mammoth. I was also forgetting the fact that R3D got ridiculously easier than the original R2TGE.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Remember that porting a game requires you to adapt it to the console's language and ways of dealing with things. If you're lucky, you won't have to recode the entire game. This problem is glitch-spawning by nature. Of course there will be glitches that weren't there before, just like there will be glitches in the native version that aren't present in the ported one.
That argument aside, most of the glitches mentioned above are unacceptable. If you have even one tester playing your game, you should notice quite quickly that there is no music or that the textures are flipped. Also, invisible bombs sounds like an interesting way to ramp up the difficulty, though it's unlikely that was intentional.

Currently playtesting my own game that I made for my Physics class. Soon, I will upload it to the Yoyogames website (my first uploaded game!) and I'll share with you the links. Yayz.

I thought it was rather mean of Peach to say that she had "something very special" for Mario and then came out with cake! Sheesh, lady, give the man a break. He's saved your life countless times - how long will it take for the message to get through?!Mammothphant 2 wrote:Poor Mario had to share his cake with Yoshi, Luigi and Wario in the 64 DS version. XD

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I started Trials Evolution yesterday. It's level editor is kinda cool, but the cameras are very hard to control.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
thanks for this bro, just seen it now, that Metal gear solid aspect seems awesome, In MGS 3 they actually had a giant robot Ape Escape monkey you could fight tooThe Edditaur wrote:I've got both of the PS2 sequels, and while I don't exactly know how well they are compared to the PS1 original, I still really enjoyed playing both of them. tbh, out of those two I like Ape Escape 3 more, but I'd say both of them are worth a look in, definitely.Bzzit wrote:Are the sequels for ps2 worth checking out?
Ape Escape 2 contains all of the different monkeys (Which I think actually appeared in that game as one of the new additions), and you also get to fight the Freaky Monkey Five, (Which I believe was also a new addition).
Ape Escape 3 has the stuff from the previous game, plus these "morphs", which change your character into ones with new abilities. You could turn into a medieval knight, a cowboy with popguns, a ninja who has robot mimics, and about 4 more. Plus you get to play Mesal Gear Solid (Yes, it even contains a Solid Snake monkey in it), if that kind of stuff interests you. There's at least over 300 monkeys to catch in this one, including about 17 extra which you can unlock by entering character codes at the start menu.
Like I said, I enjoyed both of the games, but I guess you can only make the decision for yourself as to whether you'd want to pick up either of them or not. Personally, I'd recommend them.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm playing "Donald Duck Qu@ck Att@ck?*!". Finally a game, which I've played recently and runs at smooth 60 FPS for most of the gameplay. For some reason the game works at 30 FPS at some points, but I don't think I can help it, besides, during mentioned points it still goes with no hiccups.

I played that game when I was younger. It was kind of fun, I guess. I can't quite remember. Have fun with it!

MediEvil is an excellent game and everyone who likes Rayman should play it.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Agreed, Im finding the variety of weapons to be top notch, the crossbow is an absolute blast to use! Sir Dan has been leaked for Playstation Allstars too, should be very entertaining to play as himspiraldoor wrote:MediEvil is an excellent game and everyone who likes Rayman should play it.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
It's a hack-and-slash action-adventure platformer for the PS1. You play as an undead knight in a medieval kingdom that's been conquered by a sorcerer. It's sort of a stylised horror comedy; think Nightmare Before Christmas, but more English.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm hoping Sir Dan's appearance in Allstars will warrant enough recognition for Sony to consider a new sequel or maybe if push comes to shove a reboot... though I'm not too sure about the latter...
