Re: Rayman Legends
Uhm... that's the kind of level that you never play in multiplayer, there's always the asshole who performs the crush attack in the middle of a gliding sequence. Also, I must accept that the use of Murphy was pretty awkward and complicated in this one...
Re: Rayman Legends
The levels at first seem harder than in Origins.

Re: Rayman Legends
Dude, they aren't 'replacing' the controller, Kinect is just a completely separate thing. I don't know why people are so intent on saying it's a 'replacement.' And on a side-note, Kinect is also interfaceable with a computer, and some decent motion capture can be done with it. Depending on what you use it for, it's a great piece of equipment.Bzzit wrote:Personally I would hate to replace the traditional controller for something like the kinect though thats the route microsoft seem to be experimenting with.
Re: Rayman Legends
I know they are not, though with the way Microsoft are going in terms of exclusives and Kinect support I wouldn't be suprised if one day they did though of course that probably wont happen. When i said experimenting I meant with franchises like Fable and Steel battalion which have been turned to fully motion based games. Just saying I would pick traditional controls over motion any day of the weekRayFan9876 wrote:Dude, they aren't 'replacing' the controller, Kinect is just a completely separate thing. Re: Rayman Legends
In fact, the level with the purple dwarves, the fireworks mushrooms and the darktoon-looking creatures looked incredibly hard, specially for a "normal" level. Hope they don't make it easier in the final version like happened with Swinging Caves (remember the beta version of the level with the giant falling stone platform and the 6 hidden electoon rooms?). I liked the way how Michael Micholic said "this part was specially made for Rayman fans", he know perfectly we want some good challenge.Haruka wrote:The levels at first seem harder than in Origins.

Ah, the joys of hacking hardware for indie uses.

Re: Rayman Legends
Here's a new piece of artwork:

Dat Axe...
oh, and a new gallery of screenshots here:

Looks like the Goth Teensy is not gonna be a starter character this time, unless they change their minds (again) and turn both the grand minimus and barbara into unlockables and give us the green teensy and the goth teensy instead...

Not a new gallery of screenshots. Anyway I don't care about Goth Teensy really.

Re: Rayman Legends
If you pause at the very end (3.42, I think) you catch glimpse of an enemy, with an uncanny resemblance to Clark the giant.MyBodyIsReady wrote:New gameplay ahoy
Re: Rayman Legends
I noticed that too. If you take a look at his arms, I'd say that this enemy was definitely inspired by Clark - he's probably a giant from the same species as Clark.Slowcoachtom wrote:If you pause at the very end (3.42, I think) you catch glimpse of an enemy, with an uncanny resemblance to Clark the giant.MyBodyIsReady wrote:New gameplay ahoy

I really like the brightful effect that they used on the Grand Minimus' bubblized body.

Re: Rayman Legends
It's quite evident that the artists are going for a more blended, painting-like style for this game. It's very noticeable in the comparison of the box art for Origins and Legends (final artwork?):
Origins: http://pics.mobygames.com/images/covers ... 951-01.jpg
Legends: http://gamepodunk.ipbhost.com/uploads/g ... _46976.jpg
The Legends box art has gotten rid of the borders around a lot of the characters, and through the use of coloured shading it gives everything a more three-dimensional look.

Re: Rayman Legends
Indeed it is, I really like how in Legends the characters actually look like they're from the world, not like they're from another fucking dimension like in Origins. The shading is very, VERY nice and the coloring feels more in the style of Rayman 2.
