I decided to create this topic to try to stimulate a little more the activity in the forum.

So, this is a travel topic. In here you can discuss about your traveling experience regardless the methods of travel. It can be either about a fascinating plane travel or an ordinary bus travel in a city.

Some questions to start: Do you like traveling? Which places have you traveled? Which transports did you travel so far and in which circunstances?

im not much a fan of traveling because i dont go to many diferent places and i kinda like my city,when im in my vacations most of the time i go to the biggest town of brazil,by car with my family,and it was just 500 km,but i only traveled by plane 2 times,never traveled out of brazil,until now, in this october i will go to chile with my parents,but a country i really want to travel would be france or united kingdom,so i can train my english skills

I've spent an extensive amount of time on every continent except for Australia and obviously Antarctica. I travel a lot; I stay in the US about 2-4 times per year, and I cross the border at least once a month for various reasons, since I live about a half hour's drive away.

To and from school are about two hours each, since it's on the other side of the city, but I recently got my drover's licence, so now I can get there that way. Unfortunately, I'm currently afraid of city driving.

I've probably been on over a hundred planes by now.

I guess it's also interesting trivia to note tht I've ridden an elephant twice in Africa.

tons of crazy stuff happened at my trip to mexico. but 1 of the strangest things was that um..... you know that ride for little kids where you ride in this little plane and it flys around? Yeah I saw that at a fair but one of the planes was weird. It had a swastika on it......... I was just thinking. * This is so messed up * I have a picture but I feel it would be offensive.

I probably wouldn't be driving either if going between cities in Canada took less than four hours of mountain highway. I could take the Canadian Pacific Railway, and I have before, but it's like $200 per ticket, and I'd rather float in the solitary confinement of my air-conditioned, cruise-controlled Jeep. This thing has good speakers too.

I often travel to Belgium to get some of their delicious beers.

Oh lord, Belgium is probably the most beautiful place in Europe. When I went there, it felt like a sort of haven, with waffles and flowers around every corner. The place smells great, and it feels like it's on the edge of nowhere.

I've traveled to some places in my country, from the south until the north. These were mostly by car, and occasionally by bus. The center of Portugal has got very pretty landscapes, especially in Winter when you see the Serra da Estrela (Mountain Range of Estrela/the Star) by far. I also went to this mountain as a kid, twice.

Once I went to a Spanish city not quite far from the frontier between Portugal and Spain, named Tui. We only had a walk in there for few hours.

And the only plane travels I did, all by myself, were to France. The Provence-Alpes Côte d'Azur is very pretty with all those mountains.

I have a fairly unsavoury view of public transport in general.

Buses are always late or absent and train companies are now charging extortionate prices for fares. I wouldn't mind if I was actually receiving a level of service that matched these costs, but that isn't happening at all.

Driving is no doubt the best method of transportation in my eyes.

I prefer jetpacks tbh. Much cleaner, and there's less traffic. Seagulls are fucking annoying though, as they fly slow and always hang out in the wrong currents.

Me, I like travelling by car and plane the most. I was in Turkey twice, and I feel I'll be coming back there a lot, I really like the place.

Where I live theres never anyone who checks tickets for trains (metro), so you can easily get on for free done it countless times and never been checked once, free public transport ftw :O

I rarely use the train, but the last time I did that was four years ago, to go to a city close to Lisbon to buy a SPORE copy I pre-ordered.

I used the Metro in my last stay in France, I had to hold the metal bars for real or else I would fall!

Haha I can never keep my balance on buses, especially when it comes to a sudden stop I end up knocking into someone cos I just suck at life

Same here, all though the crowdedness of them makes up for the freeness.

I travel in Greece every summer for few weeks. I spend these weeks mostly in Athens and Aegina, but i have also been in Kea, Hydra and Pilios. I visited in Paris in 2007,where i was in the Eiffel tower and Disneyland. I visit some times in Belgium, because my aunt lives there.

However i havent visited outside Europe, but ill do that definitely, when ill be able. Outside Europe im interested to visit first USA, Indonesia or Kenya.

Im also interested in many other countries.

I guess it's also interesting trivia to note tht I've ridden an elephant twice in Africa.

Were you visiting an elephant conservation? Im planning volunteer in one of those when ill be able.

I commute to work every weekday on the bus which I hate, then once every fortnight I take a train to where my boyfriend lives which is about an hour away. Wish that for work I could just get on a bike and back, even living in a place with red London buses leeches on your wages on a regular basis.
