I'm also recreating Music Mountain to my current standards (that old stuff from 2009/2010 looks quite bad compared to what I'm doing now).
Haha Good! I'm really looking forward to it!

Rayfan did you already remake the old Dream Forest tracks? I think I remember you saying you did. Though I could be wrong.

I finished listening to soundtrack part 29 just now and I thoroughly enjoyed "Occluded Woods" and its Fairy Council references. The song from the Windmill Hills is a redux, but I loved listening to that as well. Maybe that is the reason why I liked it so much; recognition of a loved tune. (Both from Rayman 3 and from your earlier soundtrack parts.)

"Antiphysics" is also a real nice techno-y breakaway from the general style of the soundtrack, a lot like "Stoner's Invinciblism". It does convey a feeling of "gravity is outta whack!", which I certainly hope would be the case in the level this is going to be used in. :)
Or, judging by the length, is it for a cutscene? Though I suppose it could be looped.

Oh, and is it just me, or does the beginning of "Meet the Town" sound a lot like "Lemon Tree"? :P

Please note: in preparation for writing this, I did not read any of the Youtube comments or posts about the soundtrack here in order to be as properly subjective as I could be. Although my comments are probably not of the highest usability to you, I like noting what struck me while listening to your music and maybe be of some use.

Yes, I guess I can see how you recognise it. Lemon Tree is the first thing I learnt to play on the piano, actually, kickstarting what is now a beloved skill and passion of mine. Although they have a similar interval between the chords, the similarities end there. Nice thought though. ;)

Anyways, the tracks is amazing as always :P
Indeed. I actually originally made that track in part 11, but it sucked ass.

Jeebus, I have not heard that song for about ten years! It's a great song, really. I still remember all the lyrics.

It's sort of a cutscene, but you play during it. It's a strange sequence of events that happen around you that totally mess up the gameplay, and - yes - gravity.

Sorry for the double post, I just wanted to post this, in case anyone already viewed the above post:

These are WAY more detailed than the crappy ones I made in 2009/2010. WAY more detailed.

Great! The only thing I notice about them is that the skin looks so thick it resembles custard more than tight animal hide, but for the rest the model's turned out excellent!

I have another question. I think I may have asked this before. Are you planning on remaking the very first track (as in Credits from soundtrack part 1) or is that theme scrapped? Also, if I may suggest I think you should remake the old Starlight Peak themes, on my computer I only have two tracks for Starlight Peak that I recorded (if this is of any interest to you they are The Ice Flows (I took away Raygirl and because I didn't really like the name Raygirl) and Fun In The Snow (the remake not the original. Also I named that theme Starlight Peak as I do with one of the tracks for each area if that is of any interest to you, which it probably isn't.)) I don't mean to sound critical (I hope that's the right word) as this is just what I think. Also one last thing, for a long time I have been wondering if I should record the Final Act battle phases from soundtrack parts 9 and 10, however I believe that if you had remade the first, you plan to remake the others. If that is the case than I'll wait for them. I hope all of this hasn't been an annoyance, but in the case that it has I will temporarily (hoping that is the right word) ban myself from the forums again if that's what you want.

I think the skin texture could also do with a little desaturation, seeing as, well, it's skin, not custard :P

That drum looks amazing!! Just I don't really dig how that fuchsia color goes with the blue. I'd personally like it more it it had the same colors as the ones in the pic of the R4 prototype you posted below.

R3fan2, don't act so depressed, I just haven't responded yet, but now I am.

I'm not remaking the first track, it's scrapped, I'm remaking the 'Raygirl' (now Raven) track, and I'll be remaking Phase Two from Part 9.

@Bongo:
I'm going to remaking the skin on top, since the way I did it was stupid, and I just thought of a better way. It will look much, much better tonight when I post the fixed version.

Alright I probably deserved that (unless I was mistaken and you aren't mad, in that case I apologize for this post) I meant that when I post questions shortly after an image or video, my post ends up lost in a sea of comments and is forgotten. Also when you said Raygirl, were you referring (hoping that's the right word) to The Ice Flows and not a different track, because I had meant that I had taken that words Raygirl & and from the title. I hope this question doesn't annoy you. Also if you are finding it annoying I apologize for being overly cautious (hoping that is the right word) about what I say.

I find it somewhat ironic that you're apologising for being cautious, because by apologising, you're being overly cautious. I wasn't mad at all, and I'm definitely not mad now, at all, in the slightest. Go ahead, call me a fucking dickhead, just to assure you that I'm not an over-sensitive fuck. :P

If you apologise one more time, I will have your head.

What track are you referring to when you say 'The Ice Flows?' I don't remember naming anything that.

EDIT:

I'm also rebuilding the skin of the bongo, the proper way!

Image

I don't know why I didn't do it like this before. It's far cleaner, and it looks a million times better. now I just need to figure out how to fill in that hole; it's being extremely fiddly.

EDIT:

Figured it out, and done.

Image

NOTE: In case it wasn't incredibly obvious, it hasn't been UV mapped yet, and these are just placeholder textures. Spanex will be doing the real stuff, like adding wrinkles and creases in the stretched hide, as well as other things.
