Game ideas
Talk about ideas for games you want to make. I'll start, I plan on making an MMO with one sole purpose: online pvp. You can rank, I already got all the rank ideas. Learn elements and begin your quest to become the legendary white ninja. This could literaly take years to get.us You could also be a king of an element via online tournaments. When the time comes to have another tournament a previous king becomes a emperor. There can be multiple emperors. I do actually plan on doing this. There will be expansions. The name is Epic Ninja Wars muwahaha! Your ideas?

Re: Game ideas
Sounds like a good idea for an MMO that aint just rpg. Just to mention, perhaps samurais? but perhaps more plot added, i think some will find it boring just to pvp all the time, some enjoy. There should be a variation.straightuprayman wrote:Talk about ideas for games you want to make. I'll start, I plan on making an MMO with one sole purpose: online pvp. Re: Game ideas
Yes, let's post our greatest ideas on the internet where everyone can see them. Nothing could possibly go wrong in this scenario.

Re: Game ideas
lol don't post if you that way then, you don't have too.
Re: Game ideas
What do you mean, spiral? Are you implying games companies will read this thread and be so inspired by our ideas that they'd steal them?

I am saying that posting your best and most creative ideas on a public message board is not exactly the pinnacle of wisdom.

Indeed, but that might be an overstatement.spiraldoor wrote:I am saying that posting your best and most creative ideas on a public message board is not exactly the pinnacle of wisdom.

Re: Game ideas
We're getting too off topic you guys.
Re: Game ideas
It's only an issue if you have real aspirations to work in the game industry, which most people probably don't, so really a harmless topic, don'tcha think?

Re: Game ideas
Heh.
When I was little actually, I was obsessed with tower-defence games. I never came up with any remotely original of my own, but I always drew out these 'levels' with different environments based on my own my own made-up game mechanics. I even drew a Rayman one in which I actually filled up about 120 pages worth of drawings and 'info.' Though I think the latter was when I was six or seven, which meant it obviously sucked.
ROTD actually started when I was eight in sort of the same way; it was called "Rayman & Moskito." It basically revolved around the same story where Dark Rayman was never defeated, except it was a sidescroller (obviously; how was I supposed to draw in 3D at that time?). Moskito sort of followed you around and you could interact with him whenever you wanted, and he would fight along side you. But you also had to prevent eachother from getting hurt. But man was it bloody, I remember drawing one scene near the end where Dark Rayman popped both of Moskito's mother's eyes by squeesing them together, and then he buried Rayman alive, making Moskito have to use his mother's proboscis to dig him out. the whole game concept filled up about seven sketch books, which is about four hundred pages.
Wtf was wrong with me when I was eight?
I've also wanted to make one of those branching dungeon-quest games, where there are hundreds of different possibilities, all of them intertwining at some point. By dungeon-quest, I mean it might present you with three options, and you choose whichever you please, and maybe they won't make a difference, maybe they will, and maybe one might send you on a completely different story than the next. Oddly, I got the idea from an Omegle chat I had one day where I joined a session, and this random guy started playing a text-based game like that with me. He was really good at improvising on the spot like that, and we agreed he'd help me write the story/events if I were ever to put that idea to use.

Re: Game ideas
very interesting story
I have an idea. I came up with a 5 part series (so far...) and it has no name yet, I do plan on making the series as a side project to the MMO. I know I'm thinking too far ahead, but it helps
! They would be free roaming and all be seperate stories. These are the games:
Original: a midevil sidescroller/rpg with a Lord of the rings style setting and classic characters
darksphere (sequel): a much darker steampunk style, still a 2d sidescroller, but much more detail.us It would have an entirely new setting and will require you to switch between characters.
3d: this one will be 3d and will introduce customizing your character! Much more free roaming and sidequests, a futuristic setting as well.
3: an ocianic setting and greek mythology all over the place.
4: japanese mythology based.us It will have an okami art direction.

I hope you read the PM I sent you concerning the multiple topics you've created before.straightuprayman wrote:We're getting too off topic you guys.
And by the way, double posting is not encouraged. *Fixes it*
@Others Spiral is kinda right, I don't think it would be wise sharing ideas in a place where everybody can access. It could even happen a company seeing those and taking advantage of them.
@Dango OMG NO
