Is Metroid Prime 3 decent with its motion control?

Re: Rayman Legends
I dislike the wii mostly because it doesn't have very much games suitable to me, though there are some great games if you really look. Nintendo's gamecube was very much better in a lot of ways in my opinion.

Re: Rayman Legends
Tried asking the official facebook page if there's any chance of Legends being playable at both Eurogamer and MCM expo; I'm going to both those either way but would be nice if they did...
Re: Rayman Legends
I never had much trouble getting my Wii set up?
Had to get used to it at first but I've never had any issues with it besides that... well, maybe those awful games that my grandparents keep sending me.
I've never really cared much for graphics. It's usually more important what the visuals create rather then how good they are. The quote from AVGN on the comparison between SNES and the Jaguar fits well in this case: "48 bits less but a hundred times more appealing"
I find that a lot of PS3/XBox games look amazing but lack creativity. They all have the same realistic graphics. Borderlands and Origins are some of few that did it right.
The GameCube is my favourite console, which is quite a statement since Super Nintendo is where all my top games are. I don't really mind motion controls though. For sidecroller games holding the Wii remote sideways works perfectly. The only game I disliked it was Donkey Kong Country Returns, but it gives you the option to use the motion as well.Rayfist wrote:I dislike the wii mostly because it doesn't have very much games suitable to me, though there are some great games if you really look. In my opinion, Borderlands looks butt ugly. I mean, I have never seen an uglier use of cell shading in my life. And this is borderlands 2, arguably uglier than the first game:
It looked like it was trying to mimic TF2 almost. I can see the comic book style they were going for, but they just failed horrendously.

In my most humble opinion the 16 bit era was a great era for gaming, the Genesis and Super Nintendo duking it out both had some of the most best games.

Re: Rayman Legends
Ugh, Borderlands looks like it could do with a redesign, alright. The small contours don't quite do it for me, and the semi-realistic, semi-toony style of the art itself isn't very appealing.

Yup, actually, Wii has incredibly confortable controls for shooters. Ironically, it's a child-friendly console.Master4lyf1 wrote:Is Metroid Prime 3 decent with it's motion control?

I find most PS3 games to have horribly dull graphics.spiraldoor wrote:So you like cartoonish graphics and dislike everything else.RayTunes wrote:I find that a lot of PS3/XBox games look amazing but lack creativity. I underline this, that's why I say I feel lucky to be a child from the 90s: it was the golden era of entertainment. I think if you show nowadays to a kid a SNES game, they'll think it sucks just because of the graphics and musics/sounds which is a terrible and wrong argument to make.Rayfist wrote:In my most humble opinion the 16 bit era was a great era for gaming, the Genesis and Super Nintendo duking it out both had some of the most best games.

I find it isn't...Only game I have played on PS3 was "Soul Calibour IV" and it had very good graphics in my opinion...spiraldoor wrote:I expect you feel the same way about Xbox 360 and PC games.RayTunes wrote:I find most PS3 games to have horribly dull graphics.

Re: Rayman Legends
Thankies Haruka. The 16 bit era was just the golden age of gaming, no matter how much you hated a game back then, it still had some place in your heart. The snes is my favorite system of all time, however the genesis made many mistakes at times with it's silly add-ons.Haruka wrote:I underline this, that's why I say I feel lucky to be a child from the 90s: it was the golden era of entertainment. Woah woah woah! What an abrupt conclusion, spiraldoor! D: I think I understand his point of view... partly. He must be talking about games like... from the fps type, which dominate the video game market nowadays without giving anything new, just graphics.spiraldoor wrote:So you like cartoonish graphics and dislike everything else.RayTunes wrote:I find that a lot of PS3/XBox games look amazing but lack creativity. He never talked about "cartoonish graphic being awesome", he talked about creative games, that's all.

You think so? He did specifically complain about 'realistic graphics', and the only examples of 'creative' graphics he cited were cartoonish.sergiomonty wrote:He never talked about "cartoonish graphic being awesome", he talked about creative games, that's all.
Well, that is not what he said, but I suppose you can read into it as you wish. Considering the fact that many of the greatest games of all time have been first-person shooters with realistic graphics, I'm not sure if I see the point, much less the specific connection to the PS3 platform.sergiomonty wrote:I think I understand his point of view... partly. Edit: I have searched RayTunes's posts for the words 'Sony' and 'Nintendo'. Everything is falling into place.

Re: Rayman Legends
Why did Rayman Legends topic become the console wars topic?
Anyway I'm a Nintendo guy myself, but I respect other consoles, I own/ed some Sony consoles like PSX, PSP and PS3 and I like some of their franchises (Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, even LBP), but there are a lot of boring-ass FPSes (like on any other system).

Re: Rayman Legends
Look how far this thread has come, why not just make it a Sony VS. Nintendo topic. Anyway my opinion is that even though there seems to be a lot of great games on 360 and PS3 there's just more games that appeal to me on Nintendo systems, nevertheless I won't deny I'm a little jealous of all the cool fuctionality of PS3 and 360, PSN and XBL kick the Wii Shop Channel's butt anyday.
Re: Rayman Legends
Aren't the console wars something from the past already? Those consoles are close to the end of their life cycle.
