In my top 5 games of all time, anticipating a sequel but im not sure how i feel about this Indian culture buisness just yet, I adored the setting and atmosphere of the first game and that seems quite the polar opposite to the new direction in the brief concept art and rumors ive seen/heard of BGAE2. Though Ancel said he wants next gen so he can let the player explore unique planets (something along those lines) which he had hoped for in the first game so i guess we will be seeing alot of varied settings which is awesome.

The Playstation 2 version, due to it's the most common/cheap copy you can get. UPDATE: It came and I'm loving the game so far it's truly amazing. I'm going to the slaughterhouse to rescue Pey'j, this is definitely one of the BEST games I've EVER played. :mryellow:

I finally completed Beyond Good & Evil today, I still will need to replay, to find miscellaneous missing animals and pearls. But I still beat it. The post-credits scene is a shocker though. :(
I also was thinking, if Haruka could obtain a copy of the game, it would be splendid if she did a video-walkthrough on YouTube.
Up for the challenge? :hehe:

They sell BG&E at GoG.com, if I'm correctly informed.

I'm rather intrigued by the Beta of Beyond good & Evil, especially Jade's original character design. I guess the change was almost last minute because even at E3 2003 Jade still had a modified version of the early design, and more importantly, why was the design changed at all. I still love Jade's final counterpart, but it would have been interesting to have seen what this would have been like in the final game.

I've seen those videos before. I must admit that Jade's final design is by far better than the original one, where she looked more like a super normal inhabitant from Hyllis. The final design also reflects her personality.

I couldn't agree more, though her original design was quite interesting. Let's hope they keep the same trendy, fresh style in Beyond Good & Evil 2, honestly I'm not overly fond of the art direction seen in the past trailers and screenshots, it seems too realistic and ruins the whimsy found in the original BG&E.

Haha Jade sticks out like a sore thumb in those beta videos, defiantly a change for the better. In regards to beyond good and evil 2 I know what you mean, I wouldnt be suprised if they did try to make the game more realistic, probably to attract the consumer base that is gagging for the likes of Assassins creed and Watchdogs primarily because they will know it will most likely sell well doing so. I mean that apparent gameplay looked like it was going down the road of those type of games, but its waaay to early to judge right now, remember the drastic change of the rayman 4 and the rabbids from early footage to the actual game?

The leaked footage of BGE2 did have a more realistic edge, mind you, but it seemed to take place on some other planet, and not Hyllis, so...YMMV?

Perhaps it might be another region of Hylis, in the original game, everything was blocked off by the Alpha Sections. It could be that there were other regions of Hylis outside of the main territory traveled in the game. Or possibly a MAJOR drought occurred causing no water to be left on the planet.

That would be depressing as fuck.

Anyway, BG&E, I gotta replay that soon - one of my favourite "childhood" games.

I was 7 when Beyond Good and Evil came out, and yet I didn't encounter the game proper 'til I was about 14, ugh, it is a shame I had to linger in ignorance, Beyond Good and Evil is a brilliant game.

When it was released, I was probably 11, but only started to hear about it at my 18. It is a shame because I did enjoy the game when I played it.

By the way, which cover art do each of you prefer?

The NTSC Cover:

or

The PAL Cover:

Personally, it's rather difficult to decide. Both reflect a different feel and message to me. The NTSC art contains more of an action/mature tone, whereas as the PAL art has more of a adventurous/mysterious and intriguing tone, while also the PAL art seems a tad dull.
