What does that even mean?! Super-epic uber HD?
For you to have an idea, 4K is four times the 1080p resolution. And it is starting to appear rumours of the PS4 going to support the 4K format since in IFA 2012, Sony revealed a line of TVs with 4K resolution. They do want to crush Samsung's leadership in the television market.
For now it isn't something that interests me, I would rather get a OLED TV now.
Well... Wii U is supposed to have twice the memory of an Xbox 360. Mass Effect 3 (game which I don't care about) is officially confirmed to run 1028p on Wii U while it ran 720p on Xbox 360 and PS3. Just saying, if a generation is defined by graphics and PS4 does improvements with that, then I suppose the new generation starts with PS4... If it doesn't... then the generation already started with Wii U. And about Microsoft... pfft what's that? aren't they supposed to be making Kinect games for like the next 3 years?
But it seems to be quite worring that it wasn't say nothing about other consoles/computers than Wii U. I saw price of it and I know that I haven't got enough money to buy it. And I'll reapeat that I'm not going to buy console just for one game. Even if it's Rayman.

Where did you find supposed price? the console's price is not supposed to be revealed 'til September 13th... OH and by the way, nintendo has a conference about Wii U that day, maybe we'll get some more info about Rayman Legends that day.
With even higher graphics it would become incredibly expensive. Nintendo has always been behind on graphics so they were able to make that step. Others probably have a problem now. I hope the PS4 doesn't do that, because the games already look sharp enough on the PS3 and I doubt even better graphics would add much to the gameplay.
That being said, they could still beef up the specs, given the amount of problems the PS3 has with memory.
And personally, seeing the best graphics PC games offer, I believe there is still graphical progress to be made.

Let's face the truth... they already do that. Yes, the console is not out yet and people still consider Wii U a piece of old gen+gimmicks. I think Wii U has potential, it has some amazing games, but nintendo has it's child-friendly fame since the Nintendo 64, and people focused on "hardcore experiences" and "manly games" will keep bashing it and say that it's bullcrap. A friend of mine for example, critizices Nintendo for being a casual piece of shit, but inexplicably, every time he comes to my house, he asks me to play some wii.... no, not Brawl... he asks me to play Wii Sports Resorts because he thinks it's fun

I don't care if a game is 'hardcore' or not, but I truly think that the Wii has a real lack of interesting/good games, and I really don't expect much more from the Wii U. But they are free to surprise me if they wish.

Indeed graphics have been improved a lot since the beginning of the 2000's.
But as we saw it with Rayman Origins, they are still a great part of a game not only in how he looks but also in how he's good to be played by people...improving graphics to enhance the gameplay has not only to follow the "realistic" way, if you understand what i want to say...

I don't understand. Improving graphics might make the game better, but not the gameplay, right?
I know it doesn't seem logical, and this is paradoxical (isn't it ?), because for me this is an impression felt by the gamer.
When u have good graphics, you feel more involved into the game and the story. The more u are, the easier u feel the gameplay too.
I don't know if this is the same for gameplay on graphics, but indeed if you manage to play a game well, u can enjoy its graphism in a better way by watching it when u are playing the game...

It depends from the capacity of the gamer to feel more the game by getting more involved in through the gameplay or the graphism. Then even if graphism or gameplay are not pretty good objectively, people who play the game think this is a little better than it is thanks to their involvement degree in the game...
Good graphics don't engross the player if the controls are clunky, a game could look as beautiful as, a famous landmark, but with bad controls, the player is stuck venting their frustration rather than being truly immersed.
And imagine having a game where you rush through a side-scrolling world with stuff whizzing past the screen so fast it only appears for a few seconds. You could make everything look nice, but since the player will never get to get a good look at it, there's no real point. An example of gameplay affecting graphics.
