In fairness, Tennant never did have his own vortex, his started with Ecclestone's back in '05.

Ah ok. I wouldn't know that because I haven't watched his series. I once saw an episode when I was younger and I didn't like it at all. It was the one with the Slitheen. I think I didn't like the acting, but I can't remember - too long ago. I'll check the series out at some point, right after I've watched all the other episodes starting from the very first one (I actually own a tape of one of the first times the Daleks appear as well as an episode with the very first time that the Face of Bo is seen - such a gap between the first appearance and his next, in Tennant's series).

One of the things that disappointed me about the Asylum of the Daleks is that for all it's promises for seeking classic Daleks, I could only spot two clearly.

I do wonder quite a bit in what direction they'll take them now; like I said, [forgetting the Doctor] has serious implications. What will they do now?

Perhaps reacquaint them, by getting rid of the Doctor's legendary status to the Dalek and thus having their one fear removed, some of their basic traits are changed, their way of approaching the Doctor would be different, and perhaps it could redefine them as the monsters that many cowered behind the coach from back in the '60s.

Maybe, but did they also not seem quite calm - for a fleet of Daleks - when the Doctor and his companions returned onboard their tribunal? Usually they would've gone completely mad and demanding extermination, whereas they now just asked them how they got there and what their business was on their ship. But knowing the Daleks, you're probably right.

Then again, having a being showing up stating he's the one thing they fear would have required some curiosity.

At the minuite it feels that series 7 is a bit lacking in overall polish. they've had some good ideas but with some rough exection. And the special effects have certainly taken a hit.

If that link doesn't work, you can find it by going to 'http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006q2x0', selecting 'Episodes', then 'Series 7 > episodes' and then clicking the appropriate episode to view. Apparently you can watch them for free up to two months after they've aired. Enjoy!

If that doesn't work, YouTube. ;)

The iPlayer facility is only open to UK residents, Shroobie, those outside our humble country won't be able to rewatch eps.

Problematic for me then, but isn't Greenbottle3 from England?

Also, there's always BBC3, and if all else fails, the web.

Same, definatly Better, but its still not quite hitting that peak
Probably because of the crappy special effects that break my suspention of disbeif

Script and story though was a definate plus, aside from the girls fake accent :mryellow:
Personally though i would've liked to have seen the whole Doctor and Wars thing pushed a little further though

If by "fake accent" you're talking about Amy Pond, then know this. Karen Gillan, the actor who plays her, IS SCOTTISH.
That accent, from what I know, is completely genuine.
And if you're expecting brilliant special effects, watch a movie. Doctor Who is a TV series, it's limited in its budget, and I'm frankly amazed that they were able to push these kinds of effects with that money.
Funnily enough, initially, back in the 60's, Doctor Who was a budget show, its effects were not mind-blowing at all, even for it's time.
This series is intentionally exploring the Doctor's dark side, the Time War is a major fuel to this darker side, as such, it's only logical that they keep bringing it up.

by fake accent i meant that little girl, the one who did the intro and outro speeches, not Karens. Although, i thought the character Amy Pond was welsh?
And I suppose i should've been a bit clearer, its not a case of the special effects are bad, its more that they dont blend in well with the rest of the scene. Because of that, they jump out at you as a special effect and then break my immersion in the show. Its just when something has clearly been "photoshopped" in that i have a problem, the actual effects themselves are okay.
And the time war thing i like, but i felt like it would've been better if they put a little more time and develoment into the theme. Having said that though, it looks like the rest of th series is going to carry it on.

But back on a positive note, on a whole it was good.
