RPC : 10th year ! Preparation of a short MOVIE

Hi everybody !
I have been here on RPC for just one month but i already appreciated a lot what i discovered there...

As I'm doing some artistic stuff these last days (i'm tired of engineering studies and i'm currently questioning myself a lot) i wanted to make some funny video stuff.
Then i saw that RPC is entering its 10th year of existence. It's really important for this kind of site to have preserved an important activity and it deserved mostly from its members.
So I am on a promotional short MOVIE project of the RPC. I don't care if it isn't watched a lot it's not my objective (i'm doing this for fun and challenge).

I am planning what I will put into it. I am starting to take some videos with Fraps and I already choosed a background music. The movie should last about 4 minutes (i think that 1 min/1min30 is too short because there are a lot of stuff to show and not only the forum... ).

I will show the following elements :
- Quick open abotu Rayman serie and then presentation of RPC.
- Presentation of RayWiki and different topics for the opus of Rayman.
- Presentation of Raytunes.
- Presentation of the forum with gatherings by language, great topics, members, moderators, etc...
- Quick presentation of IRC.
- IF they agree quick presentation of members' work : Fan Works, the b&r show, ELEM, ROTD (with some video extracts...).

Softwares used :
- Video Capture Softwares : Fraps and AllCapture 3.0 (Trial Version -_-'...).
- Movie Maker : Pinnacle Studio 14 (at the moment it's the only one my shitty laptop cans run without crash. I tried Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 but it is really worse than everything...I have some other movie maker softwares i can use so we will see that later).

End of the project : in 3/4 months. I don't know exactly how time il will depends from the progress of it. Considering I am not used to do this kind of art I can't give a release date for now.

I am opened to any suggestion u could say (even if it is a harsh one). U can suggest me other background musics if you want (I think that Celldweller is maybe not appreciated by everybody there ^^'\...).

It seems a little premature to make a celebration before the event even passes...
But hey, I don't know how long this project will take you, for all we know it won't be ready for unveiling until the relevant time has come.
If you are going to celebrate PC, you could include images of it's past looks, there's a "flashback" topic, if you will, containing images of PC's past.

I was planning to do something like this next year, but more aimed in a animated music video about Rayman, with several prizes like special ranks and Tings. I guess someone decided to do something similar an year earlier.

You know, just because one guy is planning a tribute, doesn't mean we're not entitled to make our own as well, perhaps there will be more than just a short movie to commemorate PC's 10th Anniversary.

Haha, thanks, I love his music, especially since the release of Wish Upon A Blackstar (if u haven't listened to it yet, DO IT THIS IS A REAL MASTERPIECE. I can't help myself to buy the Deluxe edition and the LIVE Blu-Ray on fixtstore and i did well ).

You can do it ! I want to give a good review of RPC for the members and/or people who want to know more about it. But I don't want to prevent you from doing what u wanted to do. Accoding to what u said Haruka, this project is not as u planned to do. Of course there will be a lot of events in a year (just before and during the summer i guess). Consider this video as eh...a prelude to this period .

(But if it is a prelude, as I am a new member, I will have to do a good project so far that it could launch in a fucking great way the RPC's 10th year season HELL YEAH !).

Today, I just want to know what u think about the background music (don't answer Rsandee i know yours gahaha ). Does it sound good ? Too long ? Too short ? I planned to add a ROTD music for the credits (RayFan did musics i thought it would sound well for the credits).

Well I can do an uncensored video for RPC members if you want (I don't know if people would come if they see on the video a topic about s*** and toilet especially the last great comment of Haruka with all the details ...). I will focus on the first one but if I can do it faster, then u could send me all great RPC's stuff like this topic

Hi people !

I will use AllCapture in addition to Fraps for web parts of the video. Oviously Fraps only records videos when associated with softwares (games, youtube, WMP, etc...).

But if you know how to get a full version of All Capture. Mine is a trial version (i don't want to buy it). And all the free video capture softwares sucks so hard for me.
My laptop sucks too as I can only record at 21/23 Hz so the record is lagging when I use scrolling :/. But the rest is fine and at least i can record the whole stuff in 2 weeks ^^.

I don't know what the quality is like an AllCapture, but there are freeware alternatives such as CamStudio.

CamStudio has strange problems on my laptop. When i'm seeing the record it is like i m wacthing my screen by the far right ...
