Ah! Will there be the basketball idle? I loved watching him bounce around his body as a kid. I remember looking at him for a couple of minutes on end this one time.RayFan9876 wrote:I'm working on them. I'm planning on making 6-8 different idle animations, which would include many favourites from the first, second and third games.
I liked the ragdoll animation. It resembles that Rayman 1 death in which Bad Rayman dies when he touches Ray.

Also, good news everyone, in October I'll be purchasing Komplete 8 Ultimate by Native Instruments (thank you for reminding me, Shrooblord). It's one of the most pristine instrument/sample/effect packs around, priced at $1100. I have $950 right now, so I'm almost there. When that time comes, expect another huge quality boost in the soundtracks. I don't just mean a kind of noticeable boost, I mean they'll sound damn near realistic.

Throw a ragdoll against the wall and see how it flails its arms and legs.Rulez wrote:Ragdoll animation?
Ooohh, that sounds really interesting! Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
Holy god, I just noticed that my update video suddenly has 3,000 views. I looked at the analytics to see when in the world it got that many, and it went like this:
Sept 12: 25 viewers
Sept 13: 30 viewers
Sept 14: 21 viewers
Sept 15: 82 viewers
Sept 16: 706 viewers
I mean, what happened? It must have been linked or embedded somewhere popular to suddenly get over twenty times the normal view count in a day. I wish YouTube would allow us to see where exactly where things are posted.

It does - select the video in your overview and click "traffic sources" in the menu on the left. If you want to see where it was embedded, you'll have to use "playback locations".RayFan9876 wrote:I mean, what happened? That's cool, so cool I started making a drawing where Bningham has sunglasses and a subtitle "LIKE A BNINGHAM" but I noticed there is no fucking way sunglasses can fit on this character.RayFan9876 wrote:Holy god, I just noticed that my update video suddenly has 3,000 views. Come on, sunglasses can fit on anything. Even Bninghams.Rulez wrote:That's cool, so cool I started making a drawing where Bningham has sunglasses and a subtitle "LIKE A BNINGHAM" but I noticed there is no fucking way sunglasses can fit on this character.
Also, should I use this track I just made in the Temporal Palace, or does it sound far too similar to Don't Forget Us? I'm really not sure about this one.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
I like the title, but cannot listen to it now, sadly
EDIT: Disregarding the hurry I'm in, I listened to it anyway. And I must say that, while it does seem to have the same harpsichord track, it does not at all feel like it's too similar to Don't Forget Us. I think the harpsichord is like a unifying factor, something that enables you to instantly recognize a Temporal Palace track.
So, do keep it!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
Let me elaborate a bit on what I said in my previous post.
So I think you should use the music, but only if it's after the point in the game where Don't Forget Us plays, in order for Don't Forget Us to not feel like a cheap knockoff of the background music that the player has heard previously, because Don't Forget Us is obviously the most important music track with the most emotional content. I'll describe my imagined situation below.
I think it would leave the deepest impression if there would be no background music in the Temporal Palace up until the event where Don't Forget Us plays (with only ambient sounds of echoing tick-tocks and revolving cogs accompanying Rayman as he climbs the towering grandfather clock that Rook calls his roost).
Then, Rayman is jarringly made aware of the current situation, which awakens this feeling of determinism in him. This intense moment is accompanied by (or just after) Don't Forget Us, the leading theme of the Temporal Palace.
After this, the rest of the Temporal Palace level would be played with these harpsichord music tracks, derived from Don't Forget Us, in the background.
So, music derived from the moment that Rayman was made aware of the terrible situation, which conveys the feeling of that moment to the player and holds this feeling for the rest of the level.
I hope you see what I mean

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark [STRESSTEST DOWNLOAD]
@Decidetto: Ah, that makes sense.
I had actually come to a very similar conclusion over night, but I don't think I was able to explain before about why it should come after. I'm planning it to kick in during the second half of the Rhook-Rayman conversation.
@Video: Nice! But... wrong fucking video! Agh.
EDIT:
Holy Jesus, my August update just went from 3000 views to 4500 overnight.
