Re: Rayman Legends
The summary says Epic 3D boss battles, so let's hope they'll be epic. I'm curious though what the take on these battles would be though.

Re: Rayman Legends
Looks like Eurogamer changed their mind; from their twitter:
Somehow I knew they'd make last minute changes even though the floor plan was finished.Eurogamer_Expo A little Sunday morning treat for you, Nintendo has added Pikmin 3 & Rayman Legends to the list of playable Wii U games! #EGXP

I can see people buying tickets in a rush now.

Re: Rayman Legends
Not really, most tickets for all the days were long sold out just after we got ours (Sunday non-early one), especially Saturday which is most popular (and most busiest, Thursday and Friday last year were really quiet and I should think Sunday would be semi-busy). But yeah, glad we get to have a go at Legends after all even if it's likely to be an E3 build again, and this time we can thank Nintendo for that (Origins was on XBox 360).
Re: Rayman Legends
I think if I can try out the Wii U version, it would only be in a shop gentle enough to demonstrate Rayman Legends, but I think they'll prefer to show ZombiU.

Re: Rayman Legends
If I remember, Emile not only said that Murfy will play on a good portion of the game, but also he revealed that there are musical levels at the end of every level. That just reveals that these levels aren't a replacement to the Tricky treasure levels, but the Moskito levels! hopefully, we'll get insanely hard levels

Suppose RL is missing both mosquito levels and chest levels. Which are replaced and which got scrapped?sergiomonty wrote:That just reveals that these levels aren't a replacement to the Tricky treasure levels, but the Moskito levels!
I'm not an expert of any sort, but in Poland they rarely show off 18+ games in playable form, and could anybody remind me of a game with "realistic zombies" (OH WELL) not getting PEGI rating of 18? Not that it really increases chances of RL showing up.Haruka wrote:I think if I can try out the Wii U version, it would only be in a shop gentle enough to demonstrate Rayman Legends, but I think they'll prefer to show ZombiU.
Also: it seems like most of you are not going to buy Wii U, anytime soon that is. I seriously consider that, does anyone have an idea what should I buy to record ultra-bad player playthroughs for you? Is there anything like HDMI recorder, for instance?

Sadly I think the European Nintendo is asking too much money for the Wii U.

Re: Rayman Legends
Are the European prices different than the North American prices? $300 was the same release price for the Wii and GameCub, which still makes it far cheaper than whatever the Orbis and the X720 will probably be, and what the PS3 and X360 were on Launch.
Re: Rayman Legends
As I told you before, this is normally the logic of the European shops:
Example: 500$ = 500€
Now if they keep following their logic for the Wii U, here it goes:
I heard Wii U is going to cost around 25000Y in Japan, which gives...
(aprox.) 320.45$ and (aprox.) 247.91€.
Now, in U.S.A, Wii U is said to cost around 350$ (The Premium Pack). This gives around 270.78€ in Europe, just a bit more than Wii at release, nothing grave here. The problem is that if the European shops follow their usual logic, this will actually cost 350€ to us, which gives actually 452.45$. Now there's something wrong in here. The thing is there's an European law that makes shops defining prices, so what they do normally is to keep equal prices or varying almost nothing, one euro or two in most cases. This sucks. I think it is explained now the region coding.

Re: Rayman Legends
The price differences are caused by multiple things.
Point one: we accept the higher prices, unfortunately, so the shops use them. Americans wouldn't accept them, so they get lower prices. Oh well.
Point two: taxes, including customs. This is where it gets complicated, because not only American taxes are lower than your usual European ones (they both vary!), in some U.S. states and EU countries all the tax is included in "visible" price, and in some it's not. For example: Wii initially was priced 249€ in Germany and Spain, and we in Poland got the initial price of 1099PLN (~275€ then). Neverthless the Polish price was slightly smaller than Spanish one, because our ridiculous VAT/PTU is included in price, and in Spain you actually paid 280€ because VAT/IVA is invisible there from what I heard. Meanwhile German price was significantly smaller (and don't talk about UK!).
Point three: In America, you need less translating, it's alright to include just English manual and Spanish/French ones are there so they have same box for Canada and Mexico, I guess; in EU you need to add German and Italian at the very least. And you have to add different current adapters in UK at the very least, not sure about Italy.
Point 9000: Remember prices are relative. It's true you'll get less euros for dollars, but in spite of this, electronics in Poland for instance are less overpriced than quality clothes or deluxe food compared to prices in U.S. (I visited U.S. this year, so I know), so in eyes of, for instance again, a stereotypical woman buying clothes regularly Wii U is cheaper in Europe compared to U.S., as she loses less clothes for buying it. Paradox, I know. Pricing stuff is not as simple as all of you may think.
Also: due to point one, Nintendo charges people more at Japan than in EU and US. The prices are something like this:
EDIT: Removed something.

Then again, Korean prices may be even higher. Who knows.A basic set, with 8GB of memory, for 26,250 yen ($337), and a premium, black version with 32GB of memory for 31,500 yen ($405).

Stan, I'm from Portugal, not from Spain
... The plugs we have is the standard European model.
How's the VAT in Poland? In here it is freaking 23%, one of the highest of Europe. God damnit, you spend for example 100€ and almost a quarter goes to the State's pocket. Lets not forget that the other part of the money goes to the manufacturer of the product (or distributor) and the other x goes to the shop who sold the product.

Re: Rayman Legends
We have 23% for this kind of stuff* too and it used to be 22% then. And by all means it's gonna get 24% next year, and 25% next year, because the government made a bill that makes VAT rise unles the government reduces losses of itself. BUA HA HA.
It's loss of government of Poland I'll buy stuff in UK and Germany then...
* Some things, i.e. non-deluxe food gets 8%, and some really weird things get 3%. But this is unusual to say the least.
Also plugs in Europe are more varied than you think. UK's are wildly different than anything else, although the current is the same. We in Poland have different sockets than Germany (and the same that France does have), but this fortunately can be worked for electronics (i.e. low current use) around with a plug that's not really pricier than normal one. Again I'm not sure about Italy.
