Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
Because Rayman and Nintendo have such a good track record.

Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
Hopefully that bad era will disappear with Rayman Legends and Wii U.
Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
Apparently despite the character leaks boosting the roster to 20 there are still around 6 unknown characters. Still hope for rayman!!

while i hope for rayman as well. i think he wouldn't be in it as he have moved more and more to the nintendo than he did to PlayStation franchise.Bzzit wrote:Apparently despite the character leaks boosting the roster to 20 there are still around 6 unknown characters. Still hope for rayman!!

It would be really good if he is on PASBR.

Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
I think they will only choose series that has never had a game on another system without having that game on a sony system at the same time. Hence why characters like Nathan Drake, Kratos and Heihachi are in this game.
Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
No more characters will be announced for launch. So if more characters will be included, they will be DLC. Rayman might be one of the downloadable ones in the future, but I think he has much bigger possibility in Super Smash Bros.

I see Rayman more in this game than in Smash Bros 4. I mean, every character in SSB is... well... Japanese. Also, Rayman has a better history in PS than Nintendo.

Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
This is subjective to say the least. Sure, R1 didn't release on Nintendo console - because there was no Nintendo console capable of playing it at the moment. It was the SNES/Virtual Boy era in America then, and both consoles obviously weren't suitable for the thing. Later, R2 got 2 versions specifically for Sony consoles, because one of them was underpowered and one of them was overpowered. That's it. Afterwards we had R3 with slightly better Nintendo deal, RRR series designed around Wii (consider it a Rayman's sacrifice for Nintendo), RO which got everywhere with really slight premiums for lonely Vita owners and RL. I wouldn't call that a better history with Sony.
Note: For some time I wondered why they didn't port R2R to NGC or Xbox. Then I learned what a different architecture PS2 was, understood that R2R wasn't designed as multiplatform... and stopped wondering about this.
Still I don't see Rayman in SSB, but history argument is weak.

Oh that's interesting. I'd never thought about that aspect of it before. It would be nice if they did manage to port it over to the other consoles, but I guess it wouldn't really be worth the hastle - and besides - do we really need another R2(R) port?stan423321 wrote:Note: For some time I wondered why they didn't port R2R to NGC or Xbox. Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
Now that porting R2 is the running joke, it would make no sense indeed. Previously?
I obviously didn't look at R2R's code, but something written specifically for PS2 without porting considered at the dawn must be really PS2-specific compared to equivalent NGC/Wii/360/whatever code. PS2's architecture has actually some similarities to PS3's one, except programmers learned to use it because they didn't see other consoles as alternatives.
EDIT: In comparison, whatever company developed God of War made it exceptionally easy to port it to PS3 by keeping not-that-platform-specific stuff in a portable form. Then again, given similarities between PS3 and PS2, it's actually possible even platform-specific things were just ported instead of being "reinvented".

It would be nice to have him in there...but I don't think thats going to happenRayman502 wrote:We will see if Rayman does make it.crashfan1ooo wrote:I guess your right... :3 I do still hope He gets into it.
Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
We'll see. It is obvious that Rayman doesn't really have a dedicated console so it is hard to know where he could be between SSB and PASBR.
Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
If Rayman is gonna be in PASBR he'll probably be a DLC like everybody else said.saerleiya wrote:We'll see. It is obvious that Rayman doesn't really have a dedicated console so it is hard to know where he could be between SSB and PASBR.

I think it's more likely that we'll see the Rabbids in the next Super Smash Bros game.GNineify wrote:No more characters will be announced for launch. Re: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale - Rayman?
I underlined every part that clearly indicates that Rayman's history was better with Sony (also considering that Rayman 3 was still released on PS2). Way Better. It's more varied with Nintendo? sure, but not better, unless you consider the Rabbids a marvelous adition to the franchise.stan423321 wrote:This is subjective to say the least. No! Not Rabbids!!!spiraldoor wrote:I think it's more likely that we'll see the Rabbids in the next Super Smash Bros game.
EDIT: I don't mind Rabbids it's just that in a game like that?? No way.
