I can't believe people dislike the replacement for Razorbeard !

I think this one looks more loyal to the game model of Razor than the current one. Razor actually owns eye pupils and a golden skull in the belt. I do think this one looks better.

Actually I agree with you, it looks much better than the current rank, its slightly clearer and as you said its more true to the in game model, although I can see why people dislike it, the pose looks a little odd and thats whats probably put people off. Though I still prefer the proprosed replacement to the current one.

I like Haruka's Razorbeard a lot more. It's less... frolicky than the current one. One does not simply frolick around when one is the Admiral of an armada of space-invade -faring robot pirates.

Also, Hunch, I know you've been explaining people about the cache, but there's two things I noticed about the current ranklist: the Walking Shell image doesn't appear (I clicked 'view image' and it gave me a 404) and the Foutch rank is still the same as the old one; all people who posted decided that they like this picture better:

If people are wondering where I did pick the picture for the replacement of Razorbeard's rank, it is from an official picture of Rayman M, where he's shooting with the magical fist.

Unfortunately there are very few 3D artworks of Razorbeard shown publically. I'm sure Ubisoft must have really interesting pictures of Rayman 2 era that weren't shown publically.

They sure must have! It's too bad that the only screens of Razorbeard we get from Rayman 2 are him in sitting positions, except for the very brief occassion that he's hopping into the Grolgoth's cockpit.

Why? It looks like one of the smoothest ranks on the list. I don't see anything messy about it.

You're right about that, but I've always noticed its 'freckledness' that originates from it being a GIF image. I was just wondering if there was a way to solve that, but maybe the original image is already like this. Maybe I can try something myself. I'll get back to you on that.

There, it's a little better, but it could use some more work. See how it's a lot sharper now? The lighting on the cloak, for example, stands out more.

As concerns the other Foutch avatar, we'll see about it later. I like it a lot but we could have a couple polls in the end for the most popular ranks.

So, what about Uglette? I think the Hunter and the Gorilla Pirate could be much better too.

Hunter, Gorilla Pirate, Holly Luya, Bad Murray, and Uglette need a better picture
Glombrox and Umber use the wrong template
Good Daisy uses the wrong template and is stretched
Musician is using the old template, but this could just be cache.

Yeah I was going to do that. I'm not sure which ones should be just replaced with better images rather than anti-aliased though.

Should Rayman 1 icons that are pixelated by default be AA'd? Such as the magician, he looks just weird between all the pretty Anti-Aliased ranks.

Anyway I AA'd clark and made a new Holly rank.

^I was actually just about to suggest that. A lot of the R1 ranks have rather nasty edges. If you and some others can fix them up quick, I think that would be quite nice. I might help if the idea's approved.

I don't know what it is, but something about the close-up Holly I really like... though of course, it is rather blurry. Maybe it can be remade like that? I'm also saying this because we probably might want to avoid having three ranks all in the same pose if possible, though, it's not the end of the world if we don't.

Well done on those. I'm not sure about R1 ranks though... It's probably be best just to try it and see what's better.

The matuvu had some weird pixels all over the place so I edited that too

Great job on noticing this, Spanucks! I checked the files on the server and all of this is true, we definitely need to fix those!

I believe noise can be removed using despeckle in photoshop.

The old Holly could be remade without the bubble if we patch some of her textures together, though I've lost my texture packs. I'll have to redownload them later today.
