It reminds me an interview done to a 11 years old girl if I'm not in error, her abstract art was compared with genuises of painting.Adsolution wrote:How long have you done that for?
Also, unless you're a prodigy, do you honestly think that anyone is good at drawing when they're eleven? You can maybe judge yourself on that in another five years.

I get the feeling that a lot of money was involved....Haruka wrote:It reminds me an interview done to a 11 years old girl if I'm not in error, her abstract art was compared with genuises of painting.
Re: Ren's topic!
Indeed, people were wanting to buy her canvases for something like 2000€ each.

Re: Ren's topic!
I think it was more a bluff promotion than anything. They could have taken any eleven-year-old's abstract thing and people would have believed it.

Thanks.saerleiya wrote:Aw, that draws are so amazing. I love the way arms seem to be there but don't in Angstrom.
Why? As for me, I like how I drew his arms... I like anything in picture of him, telling truth. I think it's the best from all I've drawn on phone for this moment.
*googles* Uhm.. O_o Never heared of him and have no idea why Angstrom reminds you him.saerleiya wrote:i don't know why but he reminds me Austin Power
Ren can not only draw pictures, but also make plushiezzz! Or trying to make them.
This bean-like strange thing is supposed to be Ray's nose/face. Actually, it's not as good as it seems on photo (or am I too picky and hypercritical?), but I will try to fix anything tomorrow, I'm too sleepy already. Also, I need to think how I'm going to make his hair... uh.

Hah, nice work so far! Just make sure not to fall into the usual plush trap of making everything too bulgy and inflated.

They showed paintings, and I think they were stetically very nice.Adsolution wrote:I think it was more a bluff promotion than anything. They could have taken any eleven-year-old's abstract thing and people would have believed it.

Sure.Adsolution wrote:Hah, nice work so far! Just make sure not to fall into the usual plush trap of making everything too bulgy and inflated.
Well... I haven't started making hair, but got some idea about eyes. Unfortinately, hand-embroidery is SO HARD. And it's almostly impossible not to make it not curvy or skew. Good that from far eye outlines look not too skew (left photo), but if look more closely (right photo)... looks too messy.

By the way, aren't eyes too small?.. Or anything is fine about size? I can't fix size already (saaaaadddd), so just asking how does anything looks like on current step.

Re: Ren's topic!
I think the eyes look quite fine. The nose itself might be a bit too long, but that's not a big problem.
Re: Ren's topic!
Wow, I am real slowpoke... finished embroiding eyes few hours ago. Looks a little messy, but I think it looks good since it is hand-embroidery, without using any help or sewing machines. Later I will make him black plastic irises.

Now I need to think about the most hard part of plushie. It's hair...

Re: Ren's topic!
I see you like your nails long. It makes me shiver, I keep my nails miles back from going off my finger.
Don't forget his cheekbones. I can't tell if they're there or not from this angle, but they're important.

Hey, there is a Rainbow Dash on the picture!
Re: Ren's topic!
Thanks, Schmooky.
Adsolution, aww, you call these "long"?! I like my nails being like that (idiotic photo, but the only one with long nails). Anyway, sometimes I cut them too, because it starts to feel uncomfortable with very long.
There are actually no cheekbones now. I have noticed it when I was sewing head and thought that I am starting to fail already at the begin.
I still have a little piece of this colour fabric, so I think I may sew cheekbones as "additional" details and add a string for mouth, after I finish dealing with eyes. Thanks for reminding about cheeks! I almostly forgot. ^^'
Saerleiya, yep! That's a vynil sticker with mane six characters from MLP:FiM.

Teehee, I thought same when I was much younger, even was scared of having long nails.
Sometimes thought that I can accidentally pierce my eye with them or accidentally tear off nail from finger. O_o' And still feel such when nails are too long. But after I found out that I have such type of nails and hands which look better when nails are long and even found it... comfortable too. O__o

I love this place, I really do. The possibilities for discussion are endless, and here we are discussing finger nails.
But, I'm not going to get involved in that.
So, my purpose for posting, is to inform Ren that I like the progress she is making, and that she should keep it up!
I'm curious, how do you intend to the hair?

Re: Ren's topic!
My hands feel disgusting when my nails begin to lift off my finger. I also play piano, so having nails any longer than that would make them click, which is one of the most cringing feelings in the world.Rendell wrote:Teehee, I thought same when I was much younger, even was scared of having long nails.Sometimes thought that I can accidentally pierce my eye with them or accidentally tear off nail from finger. OT: I'm wondering about the hair as well. Maybe you could feed pipe cleaner or wire through it to hold it in place with the correct shape?

Thanks for feedback about plushie.
Ughhh, I can understand this feeling... horrible... >_<Adsolution wrote:I also play piano, so having nails any longer than that would make them click, which is one of the most cringing feelings in the world.
About hair: I was thinking for ten minutes and some kind of idea appeared in my head. Maybe (it's not final variant, possibly I can think about something else, especially about marked green area on right picture, now forehead part looks not so good as I want) I would make something like this:

*sorry for dumb pic, I drew it in Paint XP with mouse*
Brown lines are stitches for inner piece of fabric. Of cource, hair will contain only a little of polyester filling, it won't make hair loose it's form and neither look too sulky...
