Nono... the indefinite replicating is key. This also makes it more presumable that they're-- ok I'm not having this conversation.

What's wrong now? Afraid of spoilers? :hinhinhin: Or are you afraid of Mario taking over the world?

I just watched the new video, and I have to admit the music is pretty amazing. I am really looking forward to having good quality versions of that. I'm starting to trust Héral for BG&E2 again! I like the water effects too. And unlike most others here, I love how washed out the background is.

It's the vibrant green foreground (beanstalks) that doesn't fit in my opinion (just imagine how good brown, rotten trees a la the ones in the Nightmare Before Christmas would look instead!), and the characters' craziness. Rayman and the gang's craziness just clashes with the atmospheric background and music. :/

I watched that vid today and I'm impressed.
I just love their art style, backrounds, animation etc.
Maybe I'm going to buy Wii U really...

Indeed. I'm just picturing a version where Rayman has that same determined look on his face that he had in the first game (except adapted into Origins' style), and it would be great. Kind of like a lot of the artwork for the game:

If he had more of that kind of appearance, and maybe a bit less of a hunched-over stance, I think it would fit the atmosphere perfectly.

I share that opinion completely. It's not the character design... It's basically Rayman's smile and the way how he stands. He looks just too hyperactive and breaks all the seriousness of the level. If Rayman didn't have that smile and had a, you know, more generic face or at least one adapted to the situation (he's visiting an abandoned civilization destroyed by the beanstalks in the place, with destroyed castles and barbarian toads trying to kill him) the atmosphere would feel more realistic... you could really feel depressed with the deteriorated environment.

That's very true, however what's bugging me most in the video is the overly crazy noises. It's pretty irritating when you try to listen to the nice music and all you can hear is the lums' "Yippee! Yay, yay, yippee! Okay!" instead...

I didn't watch it with sound when I watched it the first time so I didn't noticed that. But yeah, you're right, they are incredibly intrusive, especially with the nice music.

Droolie, are you aware of an possible sound library hacks for Origins?

I don't like the new Globox skin. It's like if he was wearing weird clothes. Now he doesn't look like Globox, but not like a toad either.

What we would like to see would be just a smiling Rayman, like in R1/R2, not the one of RO that I agree it is kinda disturbing.

I agree. Something i realy liked in the original Rayman, was the fact he changes of look in several situations (smile while jumping, tremble against the boss, ...)
Here he kept his smile in every situatons . In Rayman Origins, his lack of reaction in front of the Magician was wierd.

Rayman Legends is at MCM and it's the same build as the one used for Eurogamer, if I can get time to I'll try it with the gamepad this time.

I guess I'm not the only one that noticed that Rayman now has dark eye circles?

Is he drunk? Did he sleep last night? is he depressed to the point of becoming crazy and having that forced smile?

His time in Limbo completely destroyed him, he is merely a shell of his former self, forever doomed to insanity and eternal happiness.
