Re: Rayman 3
Wasn't the BETA name of the Tower of The Leptys, the Tower At The End of the World, or something like that?

Re: Rayman 3
This would render the climate in Rayman's world into a !@#$%^&*, because it is supposed to be near to the Hoodlum's Headquarters, right? After all, they're heating it up to comfort Leptys. Or maybe that's my theory and I misunderstood the monologues again. Oh well.PluMGMK wrote:Actually, now I've replayed, I remember that the Teensie Highway converges into an elliptical shape, just like the mirrors, as it nears the Bog of Murk. That was part of the theory too.PluMGMK wrote:I remember making up a crazy theory many years ago, of which this was the general gist.Master4lyf1 wrote:Maybe that mirror had something to do with how Globox ended up in the Bog instead of The LotLD.
Also, I've come up with a new idea about the Tower of the Leptys: it IS built right next to the Desert, but the Teensies sent Rayman and Globox on the longest possible round trip to get there. That fits in with the general "Longest Shortcut" theme.

Re: Rayman 3
If the TToTL is near the DoTK, then I'd assume that the Hoodlum HQ and the Summit would be pretty close too.
The Longest Shortcut is on the other side of the Looming Sea, which Rayman and Globox sail through to reach the Summit.
If I recall correctly, at the end of The Longest Shortcut, Otto says:
But why would they journey across the Sea then back? How did they reach the Shortcut?

Re: Rayman 3
To get there, don't Rayman and Globox use the Teensie Highway? Maybe that bridged the sea for them, and André and Reflux only need to cross the sea once.Master4lyf1 wrote:That would imply that Andre and Reflux were at The Longest Shortcut at one point too.

If the DoTK is next to The Tower of The Leptys, as Plum says, then Hoodlum HQ and the Summit would be pretty close to it also.Shrooblord wrote:To get there, don't Rayman and Globox use the Teensie Highway? We know that Reflux and Andre were at The Longest Shortcut, as such, they would've effectively crossed the Sea twice, once to get to the Shortcut from the Desert, and one to get back to Hoodlum HQ.
Hence the question I asked, why would they do such a thing?
And how would Andre and Reflux reach the Shortcut from the Desert if this was the case?

Re: Rayman 3
I've made a little sketch to (possibly) better illustrate my idea:
As for why Reflux and Andy went by the Looming Sea, there are plenty of possible reasons. Maybe Gumsi figured out that Reflux had stolen the Sceptre by the time he was able to get to a direct entrance, so he had to do a round trip. Plus, I get the feeling that with vague Teensie doublespeak, "here" may not necessarily have meant that particular spot.

Re: Rayman 3
I was just going to suggest this. They say 'here' when they are just about to board a ship to the Summit. Maybe the 'here' referred to that place, since the Teensies thought that the journey there wouldn't take that long from that point on, connecting the two places closely, timewise. Weird... but possible.PluMGMK wrote:Plus, I get the feeling that with vague Teensie doublespeak, "here" may not necessarily have meant that particular spot.

It's a shame that we can't access the Rayman 3 EU Flash website, they had a map of the world which could have come in handy.

Really?
Sounds like a job for me, with my renowned archive-trawling skills!
Not now, though, I'm too tired.

Yes. We've been trying to track it down for years.PluMGMK wrote:Really?

And sadly I only remember visiting the USA website before, while the European one once only. And the only thing I remember from the European website is the loading animation: a Hoodlum cloth working like a curtain and with a chainsaw sound. I would love to see that map.

Unseen64 just posted this: http://www.unseen64.net/2012/10/31/raym ... -gamecube/
The videos are nothing new but since when did Rayman have a yellow hood? (not sure if these were seen before so a big fat sweaty sorry if they already were.)

Not only the hood. The ''Rayman shirt''(dunno what to call it) is more dark blue than purple.Cairnie wrote:

Re: Rayman 3
BRILLIANT!
Brill find there, Cairnie.
Is this more proof that R3 runs on R2 engine? It shows R2 styled health bars again...
Also, debug menu.
I like the look of the BETA Bog Of Murk, along with the autumn styled forest, I don't why, but they do look pretty good.
Another difference besides the ones pointed out, his shoes still retain the strap from his R1 & R2 design.

Re: Rayman 3

Christ, I would play this rather than the finished version.
Re: Rayman 3
Oh wow, nice find
. Rayman has still some leftovers of R2 design!
And funny how one of my videos was used in Unseen64.

Re: Rayman 3
You know, now that I think about it, has there been an autumn themed level in any Rayman game?
Re: Rayman 3
Unless it was meant to be the Bog of Murk or Clearleaf Forest.

Re: Rayman 3
I'd think it'd be part of Clearleaf Forest, the water looks too clear to be part of a boggy environment.
Re: Rayman 3
Decided to play this game finally and a little problem appeared... does anyone here play PC version with gamepad? Have no idea why, but when I am trying to configure gamepad keys in game's settings, when I am pressing something on gamepad game doesn't reacts.
With other games and even emulators gamepad works properly, so I think there is something wrong with game. What shall I do? Somebody had the same problem before?
