Shrooblord and Raven are right.

I honestly dislike Globox's personality in R3, they made him look more dumber. Rayman's personality isn't the greatest one either in R3, but the worst is definitely RO. He seems to not care if he's going to be killed by a Carnivourous Plant or not.

Indeed, Globox from Rayman 2 was the best, his personality made him extremely likeable, and while he wasn't the brightest spark in the Glade, he wasn't the complete idiot he is today, and as we know from Uglette also that Globox was capable of swallowing his fear to protect his family, a trait I really liked, his loyalty to his family.
Then they made him spew pathetic wisecracks, stupid dialogue and made him a cheating toad, not exactly character development...
Then came Origins...

Yeah. He wasn't very smart in R3.

Agree with all of this. I don't like Globox in R3 or RO. I never liked any of his redesigns, R2 look is the best for me. To be honest, everything looks beter in R2/Arena imo. I wish old non-useless Globox returned.

Well, he's non-useless in Rayman Origins and Legends, I guess... but he's no longer coward.

Well in my opnion, in Rayman 2 he was the trustfull brave companion. And he wasn't completly useless. In Rayman 3, well i can't say i hated him there. He was useless yes. But he gave laughther through the game. In Rayman Origins he looks like he could use a bigger brain.

Well clearly Globox wasn't going to be the bravest and most daring of characters in Rayman 3 otherwise he would've overshadowed Rayman. He was put in to bring a bit of humour, excitement and diversion to give the journey some spark so why would we need another character with heroic capabilities.

I like Globox in both Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, separately. Of course if we're going to take into account "character development," there's no discussion: he's a completely different person. But for his personality in Rayman 2, he was a very caring, loyal friend which anyone would like. In Rayman 3, he was, in my opinion, a well-executed comic relief. He had a lot of funny moments, and there's absolutely no point in comparing him to what he was in Rayman 2. They're completely different.

That's also true. I can say I liked quotes like "You were nicer in Rayman 2", "Don't shoot! I'm pregnant!" or "Hey Rayman, can't you fly?... Like everyone else?". But I won't go further than this. There is then the jokes of second conotation that doesn't please all the fans... Conclusion? Rayman 2 had more inteligent humour.

I think you have a very strong point. Overall, I think the games shouldn't be compared. I mean, you can pick and whine about all the differences between R1 and R2, R2 and R3, R3 and RRR, R3 and RO and RO and RL, but it turns out that most of them seem to follow the general pattern of not being coherent with their predecessor. The series in the whole shares only a few characteristics: the main character's name and the fact that he is limbless. There, most similarities end. I'm glad that at least they've managed to retain their overall cartoony style that the series started with. They are all fine games on their own, but as a series, they're pretty weird, no?

Oh, look, I'm being grappled by one foot on this flimsy helicopter above a sub-spacial highway of infinite depth. Meh, I'll live.
Oh, look, I'm drinking Plum Juice even though I'm allergic and it will have very nasty side effects. Meh, I'll live.
Oh, look, I'm about to slam into a wall. Meh, I'll live.
Oh, look, it's a giant carnivorous plant. Meh, I'll-- er...

Indeed. I find Rayman 3's humour bad, the only moment I found actually funny is when Rayman lits that light in the Fairy Council shortly after finding him. And it was only funny to me because he sounded utterly stupid in the Spanish version. Anything else didn't make me laugh, because that humour is just based on funny intonations and phrases that either make Globox sound like the fat kid nobody liked at your school or make Rayman look like a sarcastic dick. Also it felt to me like if Murfy was trying to be funny too hard.

No. Both R1 and R2 and R2 and R3 (...) shared a lot in general atmosphere. R1 and R3 connections are farly dim, but subsequent main games were actually quite similar.

Random thing: sure, RM wasn't a story game, but didn't it include fair signs of upcoming Globox psychology transformation? I mean, eating your own eyeballs isn't the best idea ever.

Atmosphere in R1 and R2, R2 and R3 and R3 and RO has barely anything in common to me. I don't see that point of resemblance.

I wouldn't quite say that. The main series through Rayman 1, 2 and 3 all retained a similar atmosphere and a Rayman, even though having a notably different personality, that are at the very least comparable. Origins just aways with all that with an entirely different atmosphere, style and character. In a sense, Origins could be a random game that some people may or may not like regardless if you're a Rayman fan or not, and it just so happens to for some reason be a part of the Rayman series.

I disagree, R1-3 all had some pretty atmospheric moments and had enough consistency between them to give a Rayman-like feel.
The problem with RO is that if you were to completely modify its visuals and replace them with completely different, you may notice some Rayman-like qualities, but, I think not as much as if you were to compare R1, R2 and R3.

It's hard to define that Rayman feel though because all the games are kinda different. For me the only atmosphere that kinda connects is the magical moments during the whole Rayman 2, the forests and moments when Betilla appeared in Rayman 1 and the Fairy Council and Longest Shortcut in Rayman 3. At least for me.

Look beyond the superficial graphical and aural differences and you'll find that R1 and R2 share an extremely similar ambiance. It's somewhat diluted in R3, and much more diluted in RO.

Are you referring to the point that in RO world are much more cliché and normal-ish without that beautifulness and weirdness that makes Rayman's usual worlds? And that some of that was already lost in Rayman 3 where the levels were less imaginative and mystical? If so I agree.
