You know it never actually states Rayman defeated Jano, or even encountered him before rayman 2. It seems much more logical to assume that the first Rayman game was actually the first thing Rayman did, defeating Mr Dark while others dealt with Jano.Raven_Guardian wrote:There are still inconsistencies or retcons.
Like Rayman having beaten Jano shortly after his birth (RO manual) despite they don't seem to know each other in Rayman2, Betilla introduces herself to Rayman in the first game even if she created him, ...

Re: Rayman Origins
A while ago there were some people working on a perfect Rayman 2 texture for Rayman, if my memory serves me right. Did someone finally complete one?

Re: Rayman Origins
Tomorrow I'm going to play Rayman Origins as far through as I can, to celebrate the one year anniversary of Rayman Origins.
Re: Rayman Origins
Awesome idea! I think I should do the same, since I have reinstalled system and my RO savings are gone.Greenbottle3 wrote:Tomorrow I'm going to play Rayman Origins as far through as I can, to celebrate the one year anniversary of Rayman Origins.
Re: Rayman Origins
Does anyone else think that keeping like a year pause before playing a finished game again makes the another playtrough funnier?

I wouldn't know, I've never not played a game for a year. Except Rabbids games, haven't played those for ages.Reiska wrote:Does anyone else think that keeping like a year pause before playing a finished game again makes the another playtrough funnier?

I have, though it makes them more nostalgic and enjoyable than funny.Greenbottle3 wrote:I wouldn't know, I've never not played a game for a year. I don't think I've ever been able to call the rabbids 'funny,' they're just silly, which is enjoyable once in a long, long while.
Re: Rayman Origins
Wow, already an year passed? I still remind how hyper I got when I received the Gift Basket, and months later the disappointment of the problems of the game I didn't detect earlier.

Re: Rayman Origins
I'll put it this way: Rayman Origins is awesome, but if you're a decent player (not even a hardcore player, just a decent player) you'll beat it in 1 or 2 days, and... that's all, the game ends... there's nothing else to do, there's nothing else to replay. The time attack levels are insanely easy and there's no point of getting trophies or Lum medals anyway, sometimes you get Lum medals accidentely. The levels would be replayable, but just for artistic purposes, because there's nothing else to do, there's nothing hidden, everything is too lineal, and the plot doesn't motivate to restart the game. It has the engine that will innovate the generation of gaming, but the simple design of an Atari Jaguar game. It would be fine, if only it wasn't designed to be easy for little children.

I still had more difficulties with Rayman Origins than with Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc which is way easier.sergiomonty wrote:I'll put it this way: Rayman Origins is awesome, but if you're a decent player (not even a hardcore player, just a decent player) you'll beat it in 1 or 2 days, and... that's all, the game ends... there's nothing else to do, there's nothing else to replay.

Re: Rayman Origins
The difference between it and an Atari game though is that Atari games typically have dynamic scoring which add replay value.

Oops, I didn't specifically mean the rabbids game. I meant games in general.Adsolution wrote:I don't think I've ever been able to call the rabbids 'funny,' they're just silly, which is enjoyable once in a long, long while.

I actually spend quite a while on Origins.

But what a way to receive the game; you've got to hand it that.Haruka wrote:Wow, already an year passed? I still remind how hyper I got when I received the Gift Basket, and months later the disappointment of the problems of the game I didn't detect earlier.
The problem with most games is that this is the case. It doesn't even matter how well the game was designed; there's just not enough play time in it for them to last longer than one or two days' worth of gaming. Even Rayman 2, which most would agree has a good replay value, could be done in a couple of hours if you liked. I savoured Rayman Origins for longer than I would with most games, playing only one or two levels a day - it lasted a month for me and because of that, I've enjoyed the game a lot. I sometimes pick it up again to replay a level or two, or to try and get a Time Trial that I haven't beaten yet (and I don't settle for just the Electoon unless the level was too frustrating to try and do better).sergiomonty wrote:Rayman Origins is awesome, but if you're a decent player (not even a hardcore player, just a decent player) you'll beat it in 1 or 2 days, and... that's all, the game ends... there's nothing else to do, there's nothing else to replay.
I just played Halo 4 online with Origins music in the background. I played a Flood gametype (Zombies in previous Haloes) with Tricky Treasure Level music running. That was amusing.
Re: Rayman Origins
I also took more time than the previous games (with exception of Rayman 1) with Rayman Origins, I took approximately a month to beat the game but as I explained back in the time, I was very busy with school (incoming tests and daily studyings) and I only had time to taste RO around 2 hours per night. People in this topic were waiting for me to reach the Reveal level to start discussing freely the "big spoilers" since I was the only one that didn't know it yet.

Re: Rayman Origins
I remember that. Now there's one level that did disappoint me a tad. Also the following levels gave the game a bit of a wonky aftermath. I'm not too sure about the alternate ending either, if an ending you can call it, but the game itself was a lot of fun.Haruka wrote:People in this topic were waiting for me to reach the Reveal level to start discussing freely the "big spoilers" since I was the only one that didn't know it yet.
