At least I enjoyed the first time I played, but now I feel like the game wasn't big deal. 8'3

I guess part of the fault falls in the Daily Bubble... I had so many expectations thanks to that ridiculous sketchbook...
But there's something that I'll never get bored of: Rayman Origins' music. It's perfect, it's wacky at some points but most of the time it has that Rayman 2 feel, especially this song as it slowly progresses:

I haven't heard such a catchy soundtrack since Super Mario Galaxy 2.

There is only one or two musics of RO that give the R2 feeling, the others sound too silly. It isn't like they are bad but...

The music in "The Abyss" is a great tune which sounds like something from Rayman 2. It is simply perfect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flvaLTT56ag In my opinion, the game should have featured more of these songs.

I like how most of the soundtrack that we've heard so far in Rayman Legends (not including the rock) is considerably beautiful and calm, in comparison to it's wacky lil' bro, Origins.

It is, actually. I do prefer the music to be more relaxing and calm, atleast in a Rayman game. However since Rayman 3, the franchise's relationship with rock is something that I've grown to like. Take the song Madder for example.

Madder was the only thing in Rayman 3 that resembled rock, or even had an electric guitar in it. Individually, Rayman 2 and Rayman 1 had more rock (and arguably more appealing rock) than Rayman 3 or Rayman Origins combined. Four of the boss fights on Rayman 1 had rock themes, as did a lot of the pirate fights in Rayman 2, including the final fight. However, rock was never, ever the main feature until Legends.

I was mostly referring to official rock-music. But yeah, come to think about it, probably every console-Rayman game have included some sort of rock.

I like punchy rock music in Rayman games, but I like it combined with some cool relaxing tracks too with some piano and strings.

Rock works really well as a boss fight background track. It gets you all pumped up, or maybe gives you that 'this is epic' feeling.

In those Tricky Treasure-like levels from Legends, rock could work well because of this same aspect. We'll have to see how well it's been executed.

It just gets me mad how much unused soundtracks there is in Origins, which is know for it's too much repeative soundtrack! I btw broke my pause. I liked the gameplay, but the music.. Repeative. I just want to avoid lum kings and the electoon doors.

My new finding: http://hosting.raymanpc.com/raytunes/mu ... pping!.mp3

The worst thing is that you don't figure out the unused ones, because the unused part is somewhere in the middle. Stupid.. why Ubisoft, why? Even if they aren't completely new, they are nice alternations to the same tunes.

As I said.. so much lost potential to be even greater.

EDIT: Someone should count all of the unused parts and tracks.

There's always reasons to cut or reduce things. Sometimes it's because, after it's been created, the artist realises he's in fact not all too happy about a specific part of a score and wishes for it to be removed. Sometimes it's a filesize issue. In other cases it's because there's the lack of a general theme. If the music strays too much from its original theme, it could either sound really good, or sound really distracting.

Are you kidding me? in Rayman Legends it isn't a main feature, it is only used for particular levels, not the whole thing. You say it like the whole soundtrack was about rock. You know that the rock levels are found at the end of each stage, so it's not the big deal, just a similar equivalent to Rayman 1 but with licensed music.

Actually, R1 does have a lot of rock tracks. And pretty good ones actually, better than Madder at least.

I never denied that. I actually accept that Rayman 1 does have rock, but not as much rock as Ad suggests Rayman Legends has. Just rock for particular levels. As I said before, the only difference is that Rayman Legends' rock is licensed... most of it, if I'm not wrong.

By 'featured,' I mean it's very obvious Ubisoft are front-featuring rock in Legends. Virtually every video that hasn't been a user gameplay demo has been with rock. Thus, Rayman Legends' showcase music is rock.

That's only used for commercial purposes, a lot of people like that sort of stuff, you'll barely see 10 rock levels in the whole game.

I have to bookmark your post and check later will RL contain any sort of a mountain level set, because, if those wouldn't have grass, they would have to be rock levels, right? Right?

Also seems like I have to update my knowledge on music genres. Given that I probably didn't hear the half of popular stuff, this is going to hit me hard.
