Re: What games are you currently playing?
The new Paper Mario kicks every arse it can kick. It's been nearly a year since a game has got me to put Minecraft aside and play it all day. Balls to the critics, the sticker system is refreshing and enjoyable. There are many different attacks to keep you entertained, and unlike the previous games where an item would either be expensive or useless (Super Paper Mario had items because...?), here they can change the battle up. Sadly you can't level up.
The dialogue is fantastic. Paper Mario has always had good dialogue, but this one is perfect. I find that Toad's, who are probably the most often occurring people in the game, have much more personality. They're not always the kind Super Mario 64 Toad's that just smile and say hello. Like Tippi from Super Paper Mario, you get someone that can give advice and has a feature. This feature is a lot more resourceful than the invisible object spotting, but personally, I could live without it. Overall, great characters with great speech.
The music is not the most amazing thing you'll ever hear, but it fits and sounds like the composer put wanted it to be good.
All the previous titles for the 3DS have been fantastic, but this one really stands out. Nintendo tried a lot harder to make it a success. Games like Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 had more of a "We're doing what the fans want" feel to it.
Another treasure of the Nintendo library.

Lucky, I want to play the 3DS game
. I very recently finished the GameCube game and I loved it.

Well, the GameCube is still the best in my opinion, but this one deserves a second place. It reminds of Paper Mario 64 here and there.Haruka wrote:Lucky, I want to play the 3DS game. I very recently finished the GameCube game and I loved it.

I haven't tried the 3DS version, so from my view, Paper Mario and Thousand Year Door are equally amazing.
Actually, that's one of the few instances in which the sequel is just as amazing as the original.

Ooh that's a lovely track!Shrooblord wrote:Oh, lovely. Do you also own JJ2? I absolutely adored that game. I'll call it a coincidence, but I found a bonus track that was never used in the game just today. Here it is:Tricai wrote:Been re-playing some Jazz Jackrabbit recently ( hello childhood :') ).
And yes, I should still have my JJ2 disc stored in somewhere! I loved that game too, even though I never played it quite as much as I did the first one. Going to give it another try one of these days.. provided it still works on this laptop.

You may need to fiddle around with some things, but it should work fine. Go to http://www.jazz2online.com/ if you have problems. It's still very much an active community that should be able to help you quite easily. There's even people online almost all the time.Tricai wrote:And yes, I should still have my JJ2 disc stored in somewhere! I love popular old-school games.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been playing Plants VS. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition, World of Goo, Mario Sports Mix and Crash Bandicoot.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Playstation Allstars, its awesome so far, gonna try multiplayer in a sec.

Well...
New Super Mario Bros. U is enjoyable and like you'd expect a Mario sidescroller to be. It has me think of Super Mario World a lot, and that's great, because It's my favourite sidescroller in the series. Retro, but fresh. Here's a nice tip: Play with a Wii remote, because now the gamepad will show hidden 3-Up blocks and allow you to place blocks.
Nintendo Land is fun. Not every game is as good as the other, but overall very good. Mario Chase and Luigi's Dark Mansion are some of the best multiplayer games I've played in a very long time.
Disney Epic Mickey 2 is epic! Defenitely check it out. Controls can be a challenge at first, but look past it, because this game is great.
Finishing up some final levels from NSMB2 right now

Are they good? I've been interested in both.Haruka wrote:World of Goo, Mario Sports Mix
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I only got World of Goo yesterday, as an unexpected gift through STEAM so I only played like 5 minutes. The mechanics are interesting but I can't tell much for now.
Concerning Mario Sports Mix that I also got recently, I think it is nice if you have someone to play in the same livingroom or if you really like sports (and perhaps Final Fantasy characters). However I think that after completing all the cup tournments there's nothing quite else to do and ends up being a short game. The online is disapointingly poor, with lagging the whole match that ruins your strategies of gameplay and confuses you up.

Playing some Batman Arkham City now. One of the best games i play'd, i was a little disapointed about the short story though. Well not so short, but i wanted more.
I played World of goo (Demo) on my xperia phone. It was great, in my opinion.Keane wrote:Are they good? I've been interested in both.Haruka wrote:World of Goo, Mario Sports Mix

X-Com enemy unknown,the newer one.
this game is really, really awesome and its a bit hard compared to many games of today, and damn,i hate when one of my soldier's in the missions, well at least rarely i die on the missions
oh and the game is really easy to understand how to play and i recommend it if you are fan of strategy turn based games

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Shenmue on Dreamcast, the game is a bit too in depth for my tastes, I'm just not used to this much detail and attention compared to the games I normally play, it's amazing. The voice acting IS AWFUL.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Just completed Crash Bandicoot at 100%: all the gems and keys. This game made me lose some hair.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I love the Arkham games! I spent days getting all the achievements in Arkham Asylum, and all the non-DLC achievements in Arkham City. What I love most about these games is the combat system, which is miles better than any other combat system I've ever tried. I've gotta pick up Arkham City again one of these days and try getting the DLC achievements.BzzitTheMoskito wrote:Playing some Batman Arkham City now. Replaying Mass Effect 2. I still love it...
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Completely forgot that game, maybe I must play it again.DesLife wrote:Replaying Mass Effect 2. I still love it...
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been playing Mario Sports Mix and Donkey Kong Country Returns.
This last one, its my first playthrough. I'm enjoying the game so far, and I heard before that the series were pretty good back in the SNES days.
