I just finished the 3DS iteration of Rayman Origins today, compared to the demo it's a little better, the framerate is fixed to be pretty solid in most areas, the music still is in god-awful speaker-popping quality, and the game has handling issues with the Rayman sprite, enemies, and Lums (unstable animation, part of sprite just dissapearing, objects taking too long to appear, wrong scaling and placemet of polygons, ETC.). The graphics are either more smooth or blurry depending on what area your are in (the textures in the Mexican Kitchen-Themed stages are incredibly clear though). All of the level Maps are fully-intact with the eception of "Get Away" with was taken out of the game completely. Getting high Lums scores is extremely easy, especially with every Skull Coin being worth 40 Lums now. There are 32 achievements to unlock, all taken from the 360/PS3 versions. I'll specify on the list of achievements on RayWiki. Rayman Origins on 3DS is most certainly not the worst port of a Rayman game, at least it's easily playable (I'm talking to you Rayman DS). It's worth trying out, but unless you REALLY want to play 'Origins on the go and don't have a PS Vita, (darn) it's probally in best interest that you leave this on the store shelf.

I knew they wouldn't fix the demo mistakes in the full version. Sorry Ubisoft, but I won't give 40€ for a badly done port. They could at least have solved the framerate even if that have to sacrifice even more the graphics.

If the achievements are equal to PS3/360 you don't need to do anything, I wrote all the achivements months ago on RayWiki. :)

As I said there's only 32 achievements, the console versions have 36. I'm sorry, I meant to say I'll specify on the missing achievements on RayWiki.

I just realised that at the end of the level Hunter Gatherer (in the Ticklish Temples), right next to the cage, there are jumping mushrooms in the foreground, which jump onto each other exactly like in R2. That's a neat reference, I thought. I wonder if there's any other obscure references and tributes to the other games in the series.

Aha! That is really, really neat. I saw this during my first playthrough.

Really? I saw a lot of these in the jibberish jungle... they're a cute reference, but I didn't think you wouldn't notice them until now :oops2:

To be honest I noticed these the first time I played the PS3 demo, last year.

Michel did say that he left some obscure references for we fans.
Perhaps I should go reference hunting, it would be a great motivation to play the game again, that and the anniversary.

My TV-screen is the size of my head in diametre. I never really noticed how beautiful Origins really is until I saw footage of it on YouTube on my PC. Apparently there's some cute HUD things missing from my screen too in games like Halo and Fable because of its size.

I just realised something. If Wii games work with the Wii U's concept of playing purely on the screen of the controller, you could play RO portable without having to endure the shit from the 3DS port.

But does the Wii U gamepad work when playing RO?
I've heard that the Wii U goes into a "Wii mode" complete with a Wii menu when playing Wii games, and that the gamepad screen turns off.

My dreams of portable Super Smash Bros. and Origins have been shattered. :boon:

Take what I said at face value, I'm only stating what I've heard, and from the small tidbits that I've been able to read, I could always be wrong.

Wait - the gamepad works independently from the console too? That's pretty nice.

I would rather say it is a 3D version of the symbian Rayman Raving Rabbids.
