Oh... yeah, the tech demo is basically the only demo on the Wii U. Don't you think that will increase the sales considerably? maybe it won't sell more than Rayman Origins... but maybe similarly? the game is getting much more publicity and support than Rayman Origins did.

I'm probably gonna have to use an emulator to play Rayman Legends. :tssk:

Sure... when a functional Wii U emulator comes out along with the Xbox 360 emulator and the PS3 emulator. Hope you can run it with your amazingly powerful pc :P

The Wii U has already sold over 400 000 units in North America in the first week. I do think that Rayman Legends will sell quite well when it comes out.

I don't see how that would be possible.. Considering Murfy's part in the game.

Also the wii u needs touch (some games) so yeah. Wii u emulator might not be possible.

I have a drawing tablet that has a touch function with multitouch support. Considering the Wii U doesn't even have this, couldn't my tablet perfectly emulate the game screen's user input, besides the fact that it has no actual screen?

My god! It's almost as insane as ticket sales for live concerts nowadays. Some of them get sold out, that being 100,000 tickets in total, in the first five minutes alone!

The Americans surely saved money.

If this interests you, today after a not so good morning, I was entering in my local hypermarket and... *Detects a Wii U in exposition with Rayman Legends demo* My day just got better :mryellow:.

I tried out the Rayman Legends demo in a Wii U. Talking about the controller itself first, its surprisingly ergonomical but I found it a little heavy. The buttons press nicely just like buttons from a Nintendo DS Lite. The touch screen has got a fair resolution and responsive touch sensivity. Concerning the demo, the gallery had the Teensies in Trouble level and the Castle Rock level, with Rayman, Globox, Green Teensie, Goth Teensie and Barbara as playable character (and of course, Murfy).

I must say the graphics in High-Definition are even more gorgeous than the ones of Rayman Origins under the same condition: detailed, vibrant colours, very smooth animations and amazing three-dimensional effects (these are better seeing live than through normal videos on YouTube). They are definitely improved.

The controls are sharp and very responsive, just like in Origins, but even more surprising than that is how smooth is the gyroscope response between the gamepad and the game. I particularly liked when the gamepad was vibrating and when I look to the gamepad screen I see Murfy knocking the "glass". Murfy's controls in the touch screen also worked great, and the CPU was taking care of the normal character (Barbara) in a fair way.

Finally, I have something important to note: The characters act much less dumb in Legends, including Rayman. You can notice that in the animations, some of them new (like Rayman kicking while running).

It looks pretty cool so far but lets see how it gets the final version. Better the delay gets worth it in the end.

So now I'm interested, Haruka: have you changed your mind on whether or not you'll buy the console?

That's a good question now. I would say that since RL was delayed to Q1 2013, it doesn't seem logical for me to get it right right now. I prefer to wait and see what I can do.

Scary thought: RL as exclusive to touchy platforms. As in, a PC version working only on Windows 8 computers.

I can imagine a wii-U emulator definetly being a possibility.

From rationalistic perspective:
-) Emulating a 360 would be probably easier by now from pure technical viewpoint. PS3's Cell remains atechnicall oddity;
-) Supposing we knew how does Wii U work inside, it would probably get a working emulator first because people want to emulate Nintendo exclusives primarily, and other companies have... less appealing exclusives;
-) However, all of current consoles have operating systems that provide some wierd functionality which may or may not be essential for emulation and make hardware analysis harder;
-) In case Wii U's devkit is designed with state-of-art technology, we may emulate Wii U games without emulating a Wii U, but probability of this happening is really, really low.

There's a Wii emulator that barely works. Considering that a Wii U emulator should be like a DS emulator to make every game work, it should make two screens work, one in 720p and the other one in 420p, both at the same time... yeah, I think we'll have to wait like... 10 years for a proper emulator (and computer) to make that work. Sorry Snooki.Luke, you're officially just dreaming.

Wii U sells like Pancakes... it's Nintendo after all. Maybe it's not the big deal for hardcore gamers, but for everyone else it's the best option. I must accept that New Super Mario Bros U closed my mouth... it is actually a pretty good game, almost reaching the glory of Galaxy 1.

Ad... just... *sigh* no, just no. That wouldn't fucking work in any possible way. How could you..? ugh... how? *sigh* ok, whatever. Here, be a good girl, take this copy of Toy Story

and watch it somewhere else while real men talk, mmmkay? thnx

Indeed it is. NSMB2 really lost the touch, but this game brings it right back with a ton of new ideas. I really do hope this is the last New Super Mario Bros. for a while, though. Don't do Marioverkill.

Iwata already confirmed that they'll be making New Super Mario Bros games everytime they release a new console, so we won't hear about the franchise for the next 6/7 years, I guess. I actually respect the balance of the Multiplayer gameplay, while it seems chaotic, multiplayer is the only way to reach some secret blocks that release a bunch 3up moons (yeah, those moons from Super Mario World, remember them? Image). It seems fair, and the more players the game has, the more Moons that will come out of the block. It's ingenious, because one of the biggest problems of multiplayer in NSMB Wii is that you die a lot and you never get enough lives to respawn as much as you want. Also, the levels are pretty creative this time, the colours are nice, and the themes are pretty creative (a dessert desert, haha, I love it). The challenge mode was also an excellent adition.

I'm anxious to see what Rayman Legends can offer, and if Murphy's tasks are more entertaining than jut tickling enemies (I heard he can grab lava and spread it on everyone's heads).

Wut? Why? Is there some 'multi-touch function' that you are unable to achieve with the mouse? No, there isn't. Can you please explain to my why the simple mechanism of a mouse isn't enough to simulate a one-point touchscreen?

Please tell me you're drunk. If not, this, and all your posts are great Reddit material.

I agree that it can work. But since a 'perfected' wii emulator has yet to appear...

Also, keep in mind you'll probably need somebody to control the mouse for you as you need both hands on the keyboard (assuming this because many computer games not involving a mouse have this). Either that or you need 3 hands or sup4hl33tskillz if you want to play alone.

Exactly, just like how you would need someone else to control Murfy on the gamepad.

But PC is not meant for two people cramming in front of the screen. Yes you can do it, but it will never be as good as the consoles who were built for it.
