Re: Rayman Legends
That's the issue, I do think that Windows 8 is more optimized for touchdisplayed computers rather than normal ones. Otherwise I don't see the point of people upgrading now.

Glad you called!Shrooblord wrote:Adsolution? What are its pros, in your opinion?
From my current experience, after you get passed all this convolution (which isn't as bad as I think some people make it out to be, but with that it isn't all that friendly either) it's very fast and efficient, even much moreso than Windows 7. The software I have that also works on Windows 8 (only about half of it or less, literally) boots faster, works faster and as a whole is just faster. It feels like a very nice and efficient upgrade, even moreso from Vista to Se7en. Now the problem here is the fact that it hardly supports anything. CryEngine for instance has no support, and neither does any of my Audio software. I also can't run 3ds Max 2010 on it (though I've heard that 2014 will offer support for Windows 8).
It's a fantastic performance upgrade and some things about the metro UI are actually quite good (while others not so much). I would definitely stick with Windows 7 right now though because of the more straightforward functionality and the much better support.
Re: Rayman Legends
Windows 8 is also very recent, there are many updates to come in the next weeks.
EDIT of 30th November: Told ya:

Speaking about that, for some reason my local hypermarket was already selling the Wii U yesterday, but of course, there are a lot of boxes in there waiting for a costumer. I admit the size and the weight are very tempting.

Re: Rayman Legends
Oh my god. Wii U is quite expensive here in Sweden. Basic set costs 3500 kr which is (if you use a currency converter) equivalent to more than 520 US dollars. And we haven't even talked about premium set yet.
Re: Rayman Legends
The Premium Pack (aka Deluxe Set in USA) in here is 349,99€ (about 455,272$). I've seen in a different shop for 344,99€ but it isn't for 5€ that the sales will improve. Xmas might sell some boxes but not solding out. I think the release titles are weak, having in account there are many people complaining that NSMBU is the very same game as in the previous NSMB series.
Re: Rayman Legends
Has anyone seen any sight of an eShop demo for Rayman Legends yet?

...
I'm probably gonna wait a couple years like I did for the Wii. We're going to London tomorrow so we're gonna see if there are any demo console kiosks knocking around.

Re: Rayman Legends
It should be available to download at this very moment (according to the sources that provided the information). If it doesn't appear, it could depend on the time-zones and all that stuff. If it has appeared, DOWNLOAD IT THEN!Rayfanboy wrote:Has anyone seen any sight of an eShop demo for Rayman Legends yet?

Re: Rayman Legends
Even the demo has been delayed :'c
Re: Rayman Legends
I've been wondering of Legends will have the game on the gamepad too? Epic Mickey 2 has some second menu with barely any uses on it, which kind of breaks the purpose of it being a launch game that should show off the new console. Hope Legends will do it like Super Mario, cause for 480p screen It's very satisfying to look at.
T'was quite a dissapointment.sergiomonty wrote:Even the demo has been delayed :'c
Re: Rayman Legends
If I understood your question, Rayman Legends has both gameplay on the screen and gamepad, and you need to be especially aware to the gamepad if you activate Murfy.

Re: Rayman Legends
I tried the demo in a store. Great but i didn't like the part where I controled Murphy while a teensy was moving by himself. He was so dumb he didn't break a cage which was near him.

As far as I know, the AI is designed to work like in Rayman Jungle Run... just moving forward. You must make his path to that cage.Raven_Guardian wrote:I tried the demo in a store. It might be only from the demo too.

Re: Rayman Legends
I've lost interest in this game due to there not being any news and probably not any until January...so, I just moved on began doing other stuff.

Re: Rayman Legends
I think it is better we take our minds off Legends, given that we're in an extended wait, it'll probably be some time before we hear of it again.
But I do hope Michel does leave Rayman alone for a while after Legends, I'd like to see what Michel could do with BG&E 2 now.

Re: Rayman Legends
So far I have been doing other stuff instead of keeping waiting for more news about RL, knowing it will for sure be released only by 29th March 2013 in Europe. Anyway, I would be more hyper if it wasn't a Wii U exclusive or a 3D Rayman game was on the making.

Re: Rayman Legends
Uhh... so I received a monetary education award... and now, I kind of dunno what to do with the money - deposit most of it for a year, or buy Wii U as soon as possible? Too bad we know next to nothing about game release dates including RL - early February to late March to more delays is a difference for me.
One random topic so we don't die of boredom:
Let's think about possibilities of "Wii U specific" gimmicks for the game if it wasn't what it is. Don't get wild, I still mean a platformer, possibly RO based, but it could evolve really differently. Here are some horrible creations of mine that will demonstrate the attitude I had in mind:

- Players playing on remotes while passing GamePad at will to each other. The GamePad player is the one that's carrying The One Lum or something, and so is considered special by game events, so (s)he's sent to a background path while everyone else strolls through foreground, is put on fire etc. - weirdness of situation however rarely exceeds "separate camera required" problems, and player in fact can play on remote while looking on GamePad. This is voluntary and there can be no special player if players choose so. Playing on GamePad is going for more risky, more rewarding gameplay and so is something totally inverse to Super Mario Galaxy "multiplayer".
- GamePad is represented in the game as an artifact containing a "small world". You use this world to carry not-so-sapient and not-so-powerful buddies to different places for different reasons. GamePad player may check what's going on inside; if the situation has gone wrong, s(he) can enter it mid-gameplay. However, other players or a bot must protect artifact (which stays where you stood) from begin shattered with you all inside. Outside world conditions may affect inner world, and many different inner worlds may be used as inventories (i.e. to carry Sssam you need an inner world with water). Variation: Player 1 is stuck in the inner world and tries to survive unusual effects of other players rushing through the outer one.
- All players use pointers for precise action targeting (they can use Skyward Sword styled MotionPlus pointers if they choose so). Precise actions include stomps, charged fist throwing, and staring at things that don't want to be stared at. The GamePad is used as common inventory for items which can be pulled into TV the way Nintendo patented it, or as a camera for a different place.
- A mix of two previous ideas: you can pull others into GamePad for various reasons. They can escape/get out also for various reasons.
- A primarily single-player game, with R3-like power-ups but all about GamePad. Teleport can, draw things can, change gravity can, SEPARATE PLATFORMS ON GAMEPAD MOVED IN REAL-TIME AS GAMEPAD CAN, void dimension can, remote missile while caring about oneself can...

Re: Rayman Legends
Those ideas are...uh... well.. hm... interesting.
I would rather like a new Rayman Designer as a Wii U exclusive. Not only you could place the platforms wherever you want, you could also be able to design your own platforms and backgrounds, program their interactions, create your own heroes and enemies with their personal weak spots and share them with friends. Now THAT's a great use of the gamepad. Also it would have some great Miiverse value, like people reviewing your level design and commenting on it. Did you read this, Michel?
