Re: What games are you currently playing?
I know but, I was meaning canon games. I exclude spin-offs.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Giving another go at Donkey Kong Country Returns. This game is terribly hard.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I got it recently. I'm enjoying it so far, better than what I was expecting. I got told years ago that the DKC series were pretty good already in the era of SNES.

I believe that would be 5 games, including the original trilogy, Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. I think they're all technically canon though.Haruka wrote:I know but, I was meaning canon games. I exclude spin-offs.
Also, I downloaded the demo for Q-Force, and from what I've played so far, it all feels very good. It's basically Siege-mode from the third game, only way more complex, and I like that idea. Just too bad it doesn't have any vehicles. I'm still not sure if I want to buy this one, as it's a bit costy for a game that might turn out to be very short.

They're all canon, none of the events in any of the games have been deemed non-canon, however, you could technically count Deadlocked/Gladiator, All 4 One, Secret Agent Clank and Q-Force/Full Frontal Assault as spin-offs in the sense they do things differently and deviate from the main formula, but their stories remain canon and it is clear which games they take place before and after.Haruka wrote:I know but, I was meaning canon games. Most of the games have their own self-contained story anyway, though a few games do carry on threads of plot from previous instalments.
I've seen gameplay of Q-Force, and I think this one is slightly more inclined in the multiplayer aspect in that singleplayer is essentially multiplayer with a story and CPU opponents, it does look interesting, though I may skip it in lieu of other games.
Also, I've finally had a go at Kirby's Dreamland, though with finicky smartphone control, but it is a fun game nontheless, if not a tad bit simplistic, though I think that was intentional.

I love series that still make sense after a ton of sequels.Master4lyf1 wrote:but their stories remain canon and it is clear which games they take place before and after.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
After emulating it for years and years, I finally picked up a real, tangible SNES copy of Super Metroid.
I thought it deserved that, since it is one of the best SNES games.
Anyone have any experience with Metroid games?

I've played through and completed Fusion and Zero Mission, they're pretty fun, and perhaps one day I'll go back and try a 100% run.
I've had a go at Super Metroid, but my gaming skills aren't adequate enough yet as I'm stuck on Ridley.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Are you emulating it or do you have it on hardware? Or maybe even on Virtual Console?
Stuck on Ridley? Yeah, he's pretty tough. The key is jumping around a lot and firing lots of super missiles! You can also wiggle yourself free if he catches you.
I'm a real fan of the item-driven exploration gameplay of the Metroidvania-style games

I've always been wanting to try out the 3D Prime console games, unfortunately such an opportunity has never arisen.
I find it rather sad that Ninty had celebrations on the 25th Anniversary of Mario and Zelda, and the 20th Anniversary of Kirby, yet they didn't really do much on Metroid's 25th anniversary and left the fans to celebrate amongst themselves...
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Maybe they are waiting for the 30th.
Call me mad but I am planning to do a tribute to Rayman's 20th anniversary... through art.

Oh yeah. 3 more years to go. Will be looking forward to that. By that time I will hopefully contribute with something to celebrate itHaruka wrote:Maybe they are waiting for the 30th.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I would totally do a tribute on youtube of the sort, as I can not draw quite well, it is one that definetly needs to be celebrated on RPC, we could have like a huge party and stuff XD.Haruka wrote:Maybe they are waiting for the 30th.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
It would be epic if RotD was finished around then and it'd be released specifically to coincide with the event. Adsolution, you up for it?

You know, that's an incredible idea. I have no idea if I'll be able to catch that though.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Finishing up ROTD would probably be the perfect gift for the 20th**** anniversary of Rayman, though I am not sure if she could release it on time, since it will take a bunch of work still.
