A 2013 game with better graphics than a 1995 game? Never!

Well, I prefer it being linear to the SPAM EVERY TILE WITH BOMBS approach used in some other Metroids.
so you don't like metroidvanias...
I could keep on ranting about non story-based issues from MOM like the bland soundtrack and the flaws of the gameplay but I won't because it's not the subject of this thread.

Like I previously said, the graphics will be better but i'm not quiet sure about the music and the gameplay...

Personally, I liked the soundtrack of Rayman Origins more than the soundtrack of Rayman 1. The Pink Plant Woods theme was so... generic and lifeless. The soundtrack in Rayman 2 in the other hand was pretty good, but not memorable, at least not for me. The soundtrack in Rayman 3 was just plain awful, not in a way that makes me prefer putting a knife in my ear, but in a way that makes me say "woah, I don't remember shit about the soundtrack in Rayman 3, it must have been a lot boring" and I completed the game 5 times.

The only examples of music that are certainly a lot better than the music in Rayman Origins are in my opinion:
Rayman 1- Picture City, Theme 3

Rayman 2- The Precipice

Out of that, nothing surpasses the feelings that this song gives me:

Rayman Origins- Tricky Treasure

NO NO, IGNORE THAT ONE... this one

Rayman Origins- Chasing a Dream

Just pure genius. And considering that the music in Rayman Legends is so far better than the music in Origins (And I'm not talking about the rock parts), I can do nothing but feel hyped.

About the gameplay... eh... I don't know. It's different, not comparable at all to previous Rayman games, but I can tell that it is the most fluid platformer of this era, so I'm very positive about it. They just need to add more puzzles and challenges.

For me my favourite soundtrack is R2, although I think that R1's soundtrack is pretty nostalgic and full of magic. Rayman 3 suffers the same problem as Rayman Origins: only few share the same magic from the first two games, while the rest feels just... you know. One of the worst examples of Rayman 3 is the Muddibog's music. Ew, seriously.

I simply think the Land of the Livid Dead's music the the only part of the RO soundtrack that I'd classify as ok-good. I don't like the rest.

I'm pretty sure in 10 years that song will be qualified as "one of the best songs ever made in a videogame", just because it's retro.

I really like the music in RO, but it doesn't even come near to classifying as high as the R2 soundtrack does, for me. Even the Land of the Livid Dead music, a tune I play regularly on the piano because I enjoy it so much, doesn't have the same magic as Chevalier's music has for me.

My sentiments exactly.
Though, while Rayman 2's soundtrack is my favourite overall, my actual favourite single track out of the series hails from Rayman 3:

I don't know why I like this soundtrack so much, perhaps because it is well used in tandem with the level it features in, which I believe is arguably one of the more atmospheric locales that Rayman 3 offered that wasn't sullied by dialogue.

lolno it's great but it's not something I will even remember in 10 years. It's not like Rayman 2's or Rayman 1's music. I will ALWAYS remember Pink Plant Woods theme from R1 or many themes, specially the Precipice or The Walk Of Life from R2.

Not for you, but it will for a lot of people, especially the kids who grew up with this game. And as I said before, the Pink Plant Woods theme song sucks.

IMO, IMO, IMO, IMO!!! D:

My favourite theme from Rayman 3 has got to be the Hoodoo theme. The atmospheric ones spiraldoor always shows us when he talks of good R3 music (like the Land of the Livid Dead lighttower theme) are great ones too.

I like pretty much like nearly every track in Rayman 1(Picture city theme 3, Harmony and Dream forest themes, and pretty much every boss music theme are my favs) and 2.

Rayman 3 hoodlum havoc had some awesome tracks as Shrooblord and Master4lyf1 stated. My favorites are as well The Summit Beyond the Clouds, Curious Globox and the Hoodoo theme.

Rayman Origns themes is kinda meh. I like some of them as the "Chasing a dream", i think the tricky treasure theme is pretty awesome as well.

That's also one of my favourites. I also like Reflux's battle music (the very first one).

My favorite soundtrack is still Rayman 1

Rayman 2 had a pretty soundtrack too but Rayman 3 was bland (mostly the terribly unfitting "madder") with quiet few good tunes (land of livid dead, the fairy concil,...). Coincidence? Rayman 1 is also my favorite installment in the series and Rayman 3 my least favorite.

Rayman Origins from my POV, had very good (chasing a dream, the tricky treasure) but also very bad (the forest, the songs of lums, :beurk: ).
Rayman Legends is promising but I don't expect to be better than r1.
