Lucky. :P

I've been saving for the Wii U, lets see if I'm in time to the release of Rayman Legends by trying to get the console before.

Holy shite! What atrocious crime has Nintendo used to manufacture their console that calls for such a price cut this early after release?!

I love the part from 1:23 onwards. That was nice. Also, because the train has a cattlegrid, I can't help but think the thing is really some strange, mangled Henchman...

So I showed a friend the Wii U and he seemed impressed by it, and entertained too, but he is not going to buy the system even with a price cut because "The touch screen uses old tech so It'll probably break in 3 monhts."

How does that work?
I remain neutral on the Wii U, I'm not going to get a next-gen console until I see what's on offer, and even then, perhaps I might just move on...

@Keane: Boon indeed. Whatever we could say about resistive screens, they are far more resistant to damage than capacitive ones. And my experience confirms it.

@Master4lyf1: I understand your point perfectly. However, looking at last 5 years and non-PC releases, Nintendo is the only company that brought something very interesting me to the table regularly. I appreciate Sony's efforts to make a good first-party lineup, but they just happen not to interest me too much so far. Microsoft on the other side has no exzclusive that I would find remotely interesting. If this happens to be different in your case, well, lack of Wii U enthusiasm is the only sensible stance you could take.

Gimme the address of this place RIGHT NOW... Actually, me travelling there would probably cost more than 200€, so, well, I'll probably spare it. But if the thing costed 150€, I'd buy it right now. Too bad this is probably an isolated case, while Wii U is not exactly selling like hotcakes, it doesn't sell bad per se given amount of interesting software right now.
Keane wrote:No, she is a improved version of Tily, which still means she is a lame character. I feel that she is going to have little to no purpose at all to the whole story and is mainly there to be the 5th playable character.
Point one: if people really have problems distinguishing teensies, then different character sounds good enough for its own merit.
Point two: we don't know if any characters in particular, including Rayman, do anything special to the story, and this is not necessarily bad in this type of game (if this was Rayman RPG, then sure, this would be legitimate complain).
Point three: it is possible that Barbara is improved Tily, but if so, then she's more specifically a quite improved Tily from the looks of it. She does away with two Tily traits I find the most annoying: dull "texturing", and creepy butterfly transformation. It's quite probable that she'll do away partially with oversweetened sounds, at which point Tily remnants are artificial.

dat laughter. please not dat laughter.

I hope that price cut is an isolated case; not because I don't want people to get a good deal, but because else, the whole matter will make me verrry suspicious about the durability of the devices.

Actually, Nintendo says it sells the thing at a very small loss, which means R&D + patents + manufacturing costs ~= 305$ right now. It will probably get down to zero margin very soon though.

I think whoever decided to sell Wii U for 135€ just wanted to free some space in their shop instantly.

Me neither, I'll make as many drawings as I can :mryellow: Miiverse is quite interesting. Reviewers say it must have ninja moderators, because a drawing of a dick, a spoiler or a swearing can't survive in that social network for 30 seconds.

Just imagine, Nintendo paying someone to erase pictures of dicks. All day long.

I heard that kids under 18 must pay with a credit card to use Miiverse, tho. I think that's ok, little fuckers must pay, and let's face it, doing that will turn the social network into a more mature place to stay. There's an obvious solution, which is configuring your age in your profile as "18", which is something that you could simply figure out if you're at least 12 years old (yeah, kids are that stupid, believe me) ... I mean, come on, that's how porn works.

It's about even more of a price on ebay though, only because they know how sold out they've been here in America, thinking they can double the price.
I want a normal priced wii-U deluxe from gamestop.

I actually don't find it amusing. As I betted before, the Wii U would only sold out in Europe in United Kingdom, for the simply reason of this country not having the Euro currency. Countries with the Euro currency are passing through an economical crisis, and if it wasn't this (and the high price of the consoles) I'm sure that more units would sell. They might boost for this Xmas, but slowly increasing sales.

Back in 2006, way before the crisis hitting us for real, the Wii was sold out for two followed weeks in Portugal (In the shopping mall I went to buy one, mine was the very last one of the whole building, this in the European launch day and simutaneously a national holiday), not including the month of pre-order before it, where some places hadn't any more reserve slots to provide.

I guess Wii U will start selling better soon. I find it normal that it doesn't sell that well if it's released in November because most people will wait for Christmas to get it. I did for example, because I have no chance to get such a thing in a normal day of the year. I did the same with the 3DS :) I hope I get a Wii U though, ThAat Wa1Y I'lL b Co0l 'cuZ I'Ll hAv b0Th 3dS anD W11 yOu s0 I'Ll GeT aLL N1nT3Nd0 nEw GeN C0nS0L3s (L)
