I replayed the gba version of rrr and got past the first level and the first boss.
It doesn't seem that bad. maybe that was what the original Rayman 4 was intended to be.

I'm doing it because my score as of now just plain fucking sucks, it begs for improvement.

No no no! it's not bad...but... would you call it a great game?

It's alright, not the best Rayman game out there but it was really what Rayman fans could consider Rayman 4 untill Rayman Origins came out.

While we're discussing the 2D versions of RRR, has anyone played the DS version?

I beat it. It's not that great. Very basic platforming, some OK minigames, and sound quality from hell. The only thing that really keeps it from having nothing good is that the world are kinda cool, but with only four you won't spend more than 5 hours at max on it.

Oh my, I'd best try to improve my own as well, highest I've ever gotten in Clearleaf was about 58,000

Haruka you got few combos of 1000 or so during the hoodstomper section once you take control of it.
I got a score/combo of 3000 or 4000, that may be why... as for the rest, Haruka will probably beat me. Hehe.
The trick is to quickly approach the hoodlums when they storm in on you after you defeat the current horde, you need to be kind of fast.

I was expecting the extra 1000 points to be from there . I think not only technique is required but also luck to get a good combo in this area.

Indeed, during my most recent run, I didn't rack up as satisfactory a combo as I'd hoped, there's no denying that segment pays off well with the right skill and luck.

I'm doing rather good at this so far!
Land of the Livid Dead I remember being a tad bit tricky with combos at times, so hopefully I can do good on that.
