Custom level stylized on Rayman 3

Post by U2B »

Hi everyone :) I just wanted to present, what I've managed to obtain using Rayman 3 model and the Irrlicht Engine, combined with C++ programming. The model is already simply rigged, but it hasn't any animation yet because of my laziness. I didn't rip the model on my own, so I haven't original animations.

I know it isn't anything special, but as I said - I wanted to share it with you :)

I made one simple animation of walking, and recorded this film. I would like to apologize for the quality and the framerate - I have a low CPU, and FPS fell down when I switched recording on.

Really? No commenting on the actual content, just a demand he use a different host?
We have built in YouTube embedding here, should you ever decide to use the site, just paste the video code in below like so:

Code: Select all

For instance, if I had this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6beYceBCYSM
I'd do it like so:

Code: Select all

And presto:

Anyway, as for your level, it looks...odd, to say the least, but it does seem to emulate Rayman 3 somewhat.

Actually seems like a splendid idea, but Rayman himself seems (or just looks) kind of flat, but otherwise, this could totally setup a decent game, if you plan to go far with it.

You're aware that your Rayman model is skewed/stretched, right? You might want to fix that.

Neat concept though.

I'm aware of that, but it's not stricte my model :) I just found it here http://thefree3dmodels.com/stuff/charac ... 4-1-0-1566
This model has applied modifiers, and unfortunately I must admit that, for now at least, I don't know exactly how to fix it - probably not by translating each vertex separately? :D I will learn how to do it once there... :)

This was supposed to be a single sample. I'm not going to make a whole game from such stuff. To build a serious project, with serious plot etc., I need the development team :)

By the way - before I signed up here, I had followed your project on YouTube. I marvel at your perseverance in creating this project :)

Regards :)
