Haruka, as much as I respect you... I don't really like your idea, and you shouldn't do that. It would be you vs the world. We all know the reasons that leaded to te delay, and as Wii U owners deserve respect, this situation is appropriate. I'm supporting them, not to the point of boycotting ubisoft, but at least I'll send emails to ubisoft and release all of my disappointment on Miiverse. If they heard the complaints from PS360 owners, they must hear this too. Maybe, and just with little hope, they will accomplish what they promised first, then release the ports later. If they were wise enough to make this decision in August-October instead of a few days before the release (and after another delay), nobody would be doing this.

Again, I don't support "Rayman's Death", but if that's the only way to make Ubisoft think about their bad decision, okay, here we go.

Or how about new characters that aren't costumes? I would gladly approve that.

I don't even think that hatred comments about Ubisoft are accepted in the Conduct Code of the Miiverse, but then its so many people...

I left a comment in the YouTube video but I obviously wouldn't reply in the same way in the Miiverse. Maybe you have a point, its not really worth it to comment in there since it would be overshadowed by a flood of posts from other unhappy users.

The only thing I'm not happy about Ubisoft is they ensuring the game wouldn't be ported and why and now from all sudden they decide to make a port and yet there were people buying the Wii U in purpose. I understand their point of releasing all at the same time but its kinda unfair for the WiiU users too if the game is already done. The RO got released for 360, Wii and PS3 and later the PC, Vita and 3DS ports came and there weren't big complains. Who knows, they might change their mind and release the game sooner than we think.

Hmm... Well, The only thing I can say is that ubisoft didn't really think about the consequences. Sure, they made the few users who wanted Rayman Legends happier... but they decided to sacrifice the rest of the fanbase for that, and that's an awful move. It's like they were unsure of the success of the game on Wii U, even when it's one of the main reasons why a lot of people bought a Wii U. Again, I'm not boycotting Ubisoft, but I'll complain with the rest of the people to stop this ridiculous delay. Maybe it won't work, but let's try. Enough ants can move a mountain.

True. I guess we can have some hope of Ubisoft changing their mind and releasing the game more earlier than what we are thinking.

In all seriousness, the people with extreme views will always be most vocal. Here we have a situation that, for some reason ( ), did leave some people cosmically annoyed and absolutely no one in megaglee. Well, at least on Miiverse, which is a Nintendo user forum. That said, I have browsed what people think about it on NeoGAF... there were a few people saying they'll buy the game on PS360 (sometimes trying to comfort Wii U owners, sometimes just trolling them), but nobody was going madly positive about this.
Haruka wrote:I hope this will weight the conscience of people that were doing hating comments with no fundament. People forget there are artists, programmers, etc working a lot and doing their best to make the game fair for everybody. Like if they were happy with the delay too. :tssk: I had much worse, I've had to wait 8 years for a new Rayman game, so 7 months is like a needle inside a pile of straw.
If it weren't for developers, I would not consider a personal boycott. I would enforce it.

If they apply those things, they are preparing for epic losses of money and probably bankruptcy. They'll only go forward with that if they're stupid enough. Imagine how unfair it is for people that can't find the game anymore in retail shops and yet not being able to buy from other people because used games don't work ever more? Imagine that the years passed and Retro Gaming collectors want to play it but they simply can't? Its really concerning since the prices of just released games aren't quite inviting nowadays.
Neither Steam or Origin seem to be in very wrong state right now (although it seems like Valve has legal problems in Germany - and this has potential to save the day). The idea is horrible for us, but it won't make the giants bankrupt. In fact it wouldn't even make their console divisions bankrupt, In "best" scenario, they could promise a software update after 10 years that removes the restriction, or offer some kind of "Rebuyer Pass".
Haruka wrote:I personally find September a complicated month for me both for personal reasons and because I'm also interested in the New 'N' Tasty (Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee HD) that is going to be released around Autumn so its almost at the same time. I'll have to save for two games I guess.
The main problem with September though aren't people like me and you which are interested in games all the time. The problem are non-enthusiasts. The worst scenario for Wii U version I can imagine is Nintendo releasing a Wii U Mario Kart somewhere around September and 3D Wii U Mario in early December. If clueless parent/child will see Mario and Rayman, they will probably choose Mario.
In case of PS3, there are rumours of new LBP, and then Sega didn't release a mainline Sonic game for two years, so they could end up releasing something for all RL platforms. Not aware of anything competing on 360. Worst of all, titles from other niches (i.e. GTA5) are not directly competing with RL, but if RL released in, dunno, something like April, it could have a chance of becoming the most promoted title in some shops, I guess. In September it will stand no chance.\
None of these applies to Poland, by the way. In Poland, given Mario and Rayman, a parent would choose CoD for his son, to not have him laughed at at school or something.
Haruka wrote:And I really don't think that boycotting is a good idea, not to mention its totally unfair for the workers that have no fault for the delay. Afterall its by buying Ubisoft's products that the developers, artists, programmers, etc earn salary and continue to work in Rayman Legends and making even more games (even if its Rayman or not, have you thought in BG&E2, hm?).
Again, I think of the developers. However, the sad truth is we're in some kind of catch-22 here; buying the game for the developers could result in business team saying their strategy was alright after all. Not buying it because of theit strategy could result in them saying the developers screwed, probably due to experimenting with Wii U exclusive content.

EDIT: Added a quote mark to fix layout.

Re: Rayman Legends

I'm not boycotting it just because of the developers... They're a small team who work really hard in their games, but are manipulated by ubisoft. Yeah, ubisoft had the idea to make Rayman Origins into full retail, that's ok... but then they made this ridiculous and unacceptable choice.

Believe me, I would be happy if at least they decide to release Rayman Legends on April. Also, they confirmed that Legends on Wii U and Legends on ps360 won't be the same game, they confirmed that the wii u version will still have more features and that the ps360 version will be more similar to Origins, so I don't see the point on releasing both games on the same date... I mean, they weren't ashamed of releasing the 3ds version of Rayman Origins after all of the other better ports... but now they feel ashamed of publishing the completed Wii U version earlier than the less polished ps360 version. We didn't complain or ruin the sales of Origins when they weren't ported to PS Vita/3DS/PC, we actually waited for it and they eventually came out, and it was great news. They just... wanted to make everyone happy by fucking up Wii U 3 weeks before the game was released... and they made the wrong decision.

It would be a better idea if they simply released the game earlier for Wii U owner and later released the PS360 version, with some exclusive content to make the game feel fresh, like... I don't know, playable Master Chief and Kratos or some shit like that... I mean, come on, Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is bringing the characters from Team Fortress to make the game still appealing for pc gamers, because the game is being released later.

Shit, Ubisoft, Shit.

A lot of the reactions towards Rayman Legends being delayed are downright ridiculous. I won't lie here, I am a little saddened by it, but I will get over it, still not cancelling my pre-order, but is wii-U owners do deserve the most features.

edit: Sonic and all stars racing transformed is on my steam wishlist, the fact that TF2 characters are being put into it, really highers my decision of buying it! :)

Well, if there's no PC version, I probably just get it for my cousin, cause he has an Xbox. Which also means that I would be able to play it. :D

It makes no bloody sense. Why are they giving it to the two consoles that would run this worst? The PC, the Vita, the Wii, hell, even the 3DS would run better with this than the PS3 or X360 because those are the only two consoles that don't have some sort of touch-screen/pointer support.
