New Rayman Video

Post by plotlineplus »

So, I just finished with my Rayman 2 Cutscenes... project... thing and decided I'm not really ready to move on just yet.
I'm making a "Rayman Retrospective" video. But to do so, I'd really like to get a broader opinion apart my own nostalgia.
So I ask you, the 13 people who will probably see this thread, how has Rayman affected you personally?

-What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? (Written/Directed by Rayman creator, Michel Ancel.)
-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
-And anything else you'd like to share!

Here is a link to my Youtube Channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/PlotlinePlus?feature=mhee

(Update) NEW IMPORTANT QUESTION!

-What do you think of each Rayman design. (Starting with the original.)

(Optional Update)
How do you feel about the difficulty of the original Rayman game and how has it effected your general opinion of the it?
(Be honest.)

I would love to answer these, one by one, I'll try my best.
Edit: Hey I'm back from school! So I'm going to edit a few of these.
Edit 2: Oh wow, how the hell could I ignore that! How has Rayman affected me? As said before he has made a huge impact on my childhood, there really is no game series I love more then the Rayman franchise, all games have there own different but unique charm to them, which make them enjoyable, for a freaking long time, I can't count a single Rayman game I'm actually bored of. The amount of replayability, and beauty you can behold from the Rayman franchise is seemingly endless to me.

-I love the unique different style every Rayman game is given, some people don't like change, but Rayman has done it right for me. The big transition from Rayman being in the 2d world to the 3d world worked out incredibly, and this is why the original trilogy of Rayman remains one of my favorite game series. Rayman 1 is totally my favorite though for a 2d game, it felt very ahead of its time, with an absolutely incredible soundtrack.

-The Rayman game that had the greatest impact on me is on Rayman 1, this game is what made me a Rayman fan, it really took a huge part in my childhood. The soundtrack in R1 was absolutely beautiful (My favorite either being the soundtracks from the Dream Forest, Cave of Skops, or Picture city, hard to decide since they're all awesome!) The beautiful and different unique colorful levels was really incredible.

-Of course I've played Beyond Good and Evil, never on it's release though or near that, because at the time I hadn't heard much of it, but when the HD remake came out, it felt like a good time to jump on. The game was absolutely beautiful, I want to see Jades next adventure, hopefully we can expect a Beyond Good and Evil 2.

-I'd say they definetly need to make a new 3D title, Origins got some incredible scores from some big game reviewing websites, which makes me really happy to see, and Legends I can see getting great scores as well, I think now that they have accomplished this, I would love to see a 3d Rayman title. Origins was a superb return for Rayman, and us Rayman fans could have never asked for anything better.

-There is more I have to say, but I don't have too much time to go in-depth. I really hope this is good enough. :)

I think I'll revisit this thread later when I come up with answers I'm happy with. These are some very good questions that I actually need time to think about.

Hey, why not answer to some questions about Rayman ? :) (if I remember I haven't said yet why I enjoy Rayman games...).
plotlineplus wrote: -What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
Rayman is a very cool plateform game : I have been used to play a lot of this kind of games since I was young, because of the gameplay. But with Rayman you have a lot of incredible and innovative concepts about gameplay (what I enjoyed was the telescopic fist and helicopter with hair. It made me laugh when I was playing it). The principle of a character without limbs is also pretty fun, and the ambiance of the game is very particular too.
plotlineplus wrote:-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I think R2 was really the opus which gave to the Rayman games this strength about its universe. Ubisoft made it deeper and more dramatic than the first one, went to 3D (yeah 3D was OP at the end of the 1990's), etc, etc...we could talk a lot about this but I won't be too long.

With R3 we saw a more humouristic and funnier game. Yeah dialogues and characters for most of them were a bit silly (or dumb or yeah, kind of strange fellows). But the score system was a great idea (let's take a look at the ways people tried to find how to go to the best scores in each level).

What I dislike in the serie is the Rabbids part (as many members on this forum) : the Rabbids games reached their maximum potential in RRR2 (which was very nice and enjoyable). The others only seems like most of the Mario Party games : you just have new maps and new minigames (NIICE :tssk: ).

I enjoyed RO a lot : back to the origins of the game huehuehue. The gameplay was still a Raymanian one, and the environment so wonderful. Of course, Ubi went to RL which is understandable because they could improve the concept again (Rayman became a real dumbass in RO hum...). I hope they will port RL to PC so I could enjoy it...
plotlineplus wrote:-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
A hard question : for old fans, I would say R2. It sets a lot of classic elements for the Rayman games. Moreover, Ubi produced some games with the characters from R2 (Rayman Arena/M, Rayman Rush). At the moment, this is the most serious game of the serie and to my mind it has its importance. About new fans, Rayman Origins is probably the most known at the moment. I could say Rayman Raving Rabbids but it was mostly for children and less for adults. In Rayman Origins many people can enjoy the game because it's a real new Rayman game with a great touch of Rayman 1 and a little one of Rayman 2.
plotlineplus wrote:-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? ;)
No, and I should have. Just kill me for not having played it yet  ...
plotlineplus wrote:-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
I hope Ubi will not make the same mistake as for Rabbids : go too far in the concept. It disappointed me quite a lot. So I guess they will prepare a new 3D game with a good plot line, new characters and new concepts, even if they don't want to say it yet (hey, should they say it?).
plotlineplus wrote:-And anything else you'd like to share!
I can't help myself but play R2 and R3 again and again and again. I will probably start R1 one day, but this one scared me a lot when I was young because of its difficulty for young people. At the moment, Rayman is becoming (once again) one the most known plateforming game in the world, and I'm quite happy about this.

But I will finish with your first question (indeed) :
plotlineplus wrote:So I ask you, the 13 people who will probably see this thread, how has Rayman affected you personally?
Indirectly, it made me discover this great forum and talk with very nice people, for some of them who influenced my real life in a good way (I especially think to one person who will recognize him/herself ;)...).

That's all folks !

plotlineplus wrote:-What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
Probably the fact that I've loved the games since I was little, which means it will always have a more special place in my heart than other games ever will get the chance to. There's something wonderful about a child's likes and dislikes that will stay ingrained with the person until they die - and Rayman is one of those likes, for me.
plotlineplus wrote:-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I won't say I dislike the Rabbids direction - I am simply disappointed that it didn't go into the R4 direction it was first going in. The Rabbids are fine, as long as they stop messing up the series. :P
For the rest, I've liked every progression the series has taken - every new game has brought with it its own special little details that add to my appreciation of the series as a whole. Not many series can make as many sequels as Rayman and still stay original and special - that's a real feat, in my opinion.
plotlineplus wrote:-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
For most users, the answer to this question from my part is already abundantly clear: Rayman 2. I love the game, I love its story, its atmosphere, its introduced characters, its gameplay, its level design, its stylised cartoonism, its music and its variation throughout the game. I can't say I have anything against it at all. And maybe that makes me incredibly biased, but I can honestly tell you there is not one aspect of it that I dislike.
plotlineplus wrote:-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? ;)
I'm afraid not!
plotlineplus wrote:-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
I would like to see a game with as much atmosphere as Rayman 2, or at least as much fun and changing gameplay as Rayman 1. Both games experimented a lot with various game mechanics, such as the Hover Copter, the Flying Copter, the Slippery Slides, floating chairs, battle elements, running puzzles, treasure-hunts, running from enemies, riding spaceships with predetermined paths - in short, they varied their gameplay a lot and in interesting ways, and I like that in a game. I don't necessarily want to see a next 3D game (although it'd be nice), but I do want to see a game that is as interesting as the first two - even three (coming from someone who wasn't all too impressed with R3, even though he does like it a lot (yes, paradoxical)) - were.
plotlineplus wrote:So I ask you, the 13 people who will probably see this thread, how has Rayman affected you personally?
Definitely the music. I can't say I remember much of the Rayman 1 music from my childhood, although I always remembered the Harmony and Blue Mountains tracks vividly. Rayman 2 music, however, is simply like magic to me. The way Chevalier combined the instruments he did, and especially the way he didn't, the way he kept making that main theme come back in different forms - I think that is one of the best ways to make a score I have yet seen. The music lives inside me - I can't not say that; I love the sound and I think most of my own music is probably influenced by his style, greatly, at the very least by following his techniques, if not his types of melodies. Rayman 3, well, I can say I really liked the Hoodoo Theme and one of the tracks from the Hoodlum Headquarters, but overall, I think the soundtrack was just nice for the game it was for - but it doesn't live for me like R2's did. I don't even know what kind of music the Rabbids series had and I don't really care about that, because I don't really care about them either. Origins' music had some good scores too, plenty of which I enjoyed a lot, but yet again, it's not as special to me as R2's soundtrack is.
So: personally, it has affected my music. I am absolutely certain about that.

-What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
It was the first purely video game franchise I experienced, I would go as far to say it was the game that made me love video games.
My time with the series itself has been littered with good memories, such as the time when I figured out how to get past the Jano chase, the gameplay and the style of the franchise also resonate well with myself, however, I'd admit that RO does stray from the feel I got from previous instalments, but it still holds well on its own.
-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I dislike the fact that the series is becoming less...subtle, in a way, while all instalments in the franchise had humour, R3 and RO were a lot more "in your face" about it, and also a little too zany for my liking, zaniness is a must in the series, but not to the extent exhibited in RO. I also dislike the lacking atmosphere in RO, the constant compulsion to run, and run, instead of taking a breather and absorbing the wondrous world that has been given life.
-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
Rayman 2, while others may not call it their favourite in the franchise, there is no denying that Rayman 2 set a benchmark, and all other Rayman titles are often compared to this one, it's also the most critically acclaimed to the point of getting into best-of lists, tragically, sub-par ports have sullied this loftiness that the title had rather than reinforce it.
-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil?

Not to completion, however, I played a good chunk of it, and I can see why some call it Rayman's Zelda, but it itself is a very good title and one I'd recommend to anyone, it has its own charm and flair, and is a memorable experience from start to finish.
-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
I'd like a 3D title, one which takes the best aspects of each Rayman game to date and creatively mixes them to create something truly magical, or perhaps one which merely tones back the zaniness and returns to the more atmospheric approach, I'd also like concepts from the cancelled R4 to see the light of day, however, that's not a must. However, I don't mind if the series stays 2D for the time being.
Despite these, I think most importantly, I want the series to succeed, and not fall into a limbo again, this series will always hold a special place to me, and seeing it fall would be upsetting, to say the least.
So I ask you, the 13 people who will probably see this thread, how has Rayman affected you personally?
I guess this is where I sum it all up, personally, Rayman has been a constant throughout the years, I never grew out of the series, I stayed with it even in the era of obscurity. Despite my extreme liking towards the series, I'll never go overboard and say it's perfect, because nothing truly is, but it certainly is pretty darn good, at least, in my eyes.

I wish you the best of luck on your vid, and thanks for listening!

There's something about Michel Ancel's imagination that could delve even deeper than the others. the conjurer of a deep, magical universe that truly encapsulates you from beginning to end. A large amount of this comes from he incredibly creative backgrounds; their surreality, from the rolling musical hills and mountains of Band Land to the lonely aurora lingering about the Blue Mountains, to the completely nonsensical but beautiful level design of Rayman 2, to the brilliant, mystical music of the whole series.
plotlineplus wrote:-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I have no problems with any of the directions the first trilogy took. Rayman 1 was a breathtakingly beautiful and challenging adventure, Rayman 2 was a mystical, magical and dark journey, and Rayman 3 was so varied, replayable and fun.
plotlineplus wrote:-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
The first one. Being one of my first games, in 1998, it's virtually become the source of almost all my creativity, both artistically and musically.
plotlineplus wrote:-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? (Written/Directed by Rayman creator, Michel Ancel.)
Oddly enough, I haven't, though I plan to very, very son.
plotlineplus wrote:-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
I don't know, to be honest. My senses tell me that they should make one more 2D platformer - one that takes a bit of a different direction. After that, then something 3D. Though really, I can never see it being even remotely similar to what we had in the original trilogy.

What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
Rayman has something really magical in his games. I think what it distinguishes from other franchises is the limitless creativity and the touch of fantasy that we are used to observe in fairy tales and fictional stories. It looks like that many story books were blended together along with paintings from greatest artists from all time and obscure cultural references of the humanity and transformed in what is Rayman's universe. The character itself, even if it was firstly limited to the hardware available two decades ago, the limbless characteristic gives charm to Rayman and makes him stand out from other video game characters.
Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I absolutely love everything done until the golden era of Rayman 2, being this one the pearl of the current quadrilogy. One of my favourite things in Rayman 1 is the cartoony design of everything you could see in the screen and the level design, one of the most challenging ones I ever had the pleasure to try out. In Rayman 2, I pretty much love everything they made on the game, since the story until the soundtrack. Even if the latest two cannon games weren't perfect, I still like these. Rayman 3 tried to introduce a new gameplay style and yet maintaining references to the previous games. Rayman Origins attempted to bring back the 2D gameplay along with some obscure things from the first Rayman game like the Mosquito Shootout from Atari Jaguar and the Electoons. If I dislike something, its how the Rabbids harmed the series image greatly to the eyes of non-Rayman fans. Fortunately this seems to be disappearing at a slow and gradual pace thanks to the separation of both series and the latest new canon games from Rayman.
Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
Rayman 2: The Great Escape, without any question. I already was a Rayman fan when I played his first game, but the second game made me getting into the series even more. It deeply marked my childhood forever, being still my top favourite videogames ever.
Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? (Written/Directed by Rayman creator, Michel Ancel.)
I did it between endings of 2011 and Summer 2012. I feel pity that I didn't try out this game before, since its pretty nicely designed. I only started to heard about it around 2009 thanks to other Rayman fans, but I fear the game never hit the shelves in Portugal but I might be wrong. I own the HD version for PS3 but I'm considering in getting a genuine retail copy for PC.
Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
In my honesty, to the path that Ancel and others believe they should go. If I were able to give an opinion, I would like to see Rayman returning back to the 3D universe but trying to blend the Rayman 1 and Rayman 2 universes into one game and making it remarkable for the fans.
And anything else you'd like to share!
Long live, Rayman! :yeah:

Re: New Rayman Video

Post by Slogbait »

Alright! Let's see if I can do this...
-What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?
Gosh, where do I even start? Rayman is just a fantastic series. The stories are lacking a bit, and there's a load of problems with continuity, but that doesn't even detract from just how great the games are. Even the spinoff games are enjoyable to play. Rayman games have this very specific feeling to them that other I.P.s just can't reproduce. The only one that comes marginally close might be Earthworm Jim, but Earthworm Jim has more of a focus on absurdity. I think even Rayman is relatively down to earth compared to it in some aspects, and that's not a problem in the slightest. What Rayman does and has always been good at is showing what can be done within the video game medium. They also proved to be some of the greatest challenges and so visually appealing with good replayability. This is more or less excluding the RRR games. They are good as standalone games and have their own charm, but they really can't compare to the other games in the series.

I also love how alive the environments feel.
-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?
I'll start out with what I didn't like.
-The Rabbids games. They were fun on their own, and I'm glad they're spinoff games not counted in the main series because it was really, really difficult to view them as Rayman games. The initial announcement of the game got me really pumped for it, and upon it's release I can safely say I had never felt more disappointed in a game. Not to mention, while the RRR series was going, the Rabbids managed to completely over shadow Rayman himself. I'm more than glad they split the franchises.
-It took me a really long time to get used to R2. It was an exceptional game, and it deserves all the praise and attention it had gotten/still gets, but for me I was so used to everything about Rayman 1. It was one hell of a mood whiplash going from the first game to the second game and I wasn't sure I liked that. Also, I find robot pirates to be an incredibly silly concept, so with how serious the game took itself at times it created this very odd atmosphere where I wasn't sure to laugh or what a lot of the time.
-Goodness, what is with all these retcons? I can understand wanting to make Rayman a literal "one of a kind", but there are so many contradictions in the series and very bizarre changes to previous characters that I'm not sure what to feel about. Also, I really wish they could just sit back and decide on Globox's personality. It's completely different in each of his appearances so far, and it's very difficult to like a character with no set personality. They become a shell that you tack on a personality for a given story then they just go back to being a shell until the next.

As for what I liked...
-Pretty much everything else. My favourite thing is how R2 started including mythos within the land and oh how I love the mythos of Rayman. It allows anything to be a possibility and the sky's the limit. Heck, I think the limit may very well stretch to the ends of the universe. They don't forget certain characters previously introduced exist, and you can tell that each game takes place within the same general world. Origins is probably one of the greatest things to ever happen to Rayman because it took everything that would good about R1, R2, and R3HH, and combined them to make this absolutely beautiful game. I just hope the franchise continues on this path, and I hope to see another 3D title in the future that's just as good.

This next bit fits well under both this question and the first.

Now that I've long since gotten used to the extreme differences between R1 and R2, I've got to say I love the variation in the games as well. There's a little bit of everything for a good majority of people out there. Rayman is one of those series that is universally accepted as "just good". Sure, it's not some peoples' cup of tea, but they can not deny that the games are well designed with pretty impressive visuals and enjoyable soundtracks. The only people I've met who have ever considered Rayman games to be anything less than decent had something against video games to begin with, and it's not really worth arguing with a brick wall.
-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?
These are some hard questions to answer! Overall, I think Origins has had the biggest impact so far. Before RO, it was difficult for me to find people who lived in the same continent as me that knew about Rayman. Now, I've met so many people who, after the release of Origins, are just as in love with the game as I am, and are more than willing to check out the other games because they hadn't discovered the gem that is Rayman beforehand. The first one had a pretty big impact, but Origins expanded on it significantly.

For me? The first game had the greatest impact. The games I played as a kid are what made me so interested in video games today. Rayman was a lot different than most of the other things I was interested in at the time. In fact, its overall theme was the extreme opposite of everything else I was so into as a kid, it helped expand my interests and give things a try I never would have without it. The first game successfully hooked me onto the series, and I'm not planning to let it go any time soon. There are also times where you can spot its influence in my work.
-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? (Written/Directed by Rayman creator, Michel Ancel.)
Unfortunately, no.
-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?
I'm not really sure. I'd like to see another 3D platformer in the same vein as R2 and R3HH, but more stylized? You can do some really interesting things with that extra dimension, so I'd hope they try and keep the entire game very art heavy. (This includes all forms of art, not just visuals!) Maybe revisit Picture City, like it seemed was going to happen for R4, and have a section made up completely of brush strokes, you know? Instead of just art supplies, let's walk around in pieces that are currently being created. If they're really daring, they could add in fun little things like walking through wet paint you can trail the colour around where you walk for a bit, or if you fall in wet paint you get covered in the paint and shake it off before recovering from the fall. I want to see them continue to push the limits and see just how unbelievable and incredible you can design a world within a game.
-And anything else you'd like to share!

Hmm... Let's see...

Rayman 1:
Probably my second favourite design. Even with how silly and overly cartoony he is in R1, it was a great introduction to the character. The design held a lot of personality, and in the game itself he fit in so perfectly. His animations were smooth and I think his hair was my favourite part. I kind of miss that third division in his hair, but at the same time I like his newer designs way too much for it to really bother me. Also, even though the R1 and R2 designs are generally the same, it's the small things that make the difference. This particular design of Rayman fit perfectly within the medium and the only complaint I might have is how his body appears too rounded initially, but is actually the same shape as it is in every following game. He's just kind of strutting his stuff around the glade with his chest all puffed up and shit. What a badass.

Rayman 2 & M/Arena:
This was probably my least favourite design of his. It wouldn't have been so bad to me if his hair had been done differently. It had little to no form and didn't really read as "hair" to me. More like two smooth prongs jutting out of the back of his head. It was kind of unsettling. Also, in the character models I don't like how they tried to separate his eyes. It just didnt work and I find it off-putting. In the concept art for the games, it looked fine, but the transition to 3D I don't feel was very successful.

Rayman 3 (more specifically R3HH and RHR for GBA):
I loved this design. It was very visually appealing, and much like the game itself provided a sort of a middle ground to the extreme opposites R1 and R2 were. The hood definitely fits his character better than the handkerchief did, his hair actually looked like hair again, and personally I really liked what they did with the shoes. There was nothing wrong with the original design of the shoes, but they wouldn't have fit very well with his R3 design. Also, I'm a pretty big fan of the combat fatigues, though that's probably because I always liked alternate colourations of characters. They didn't feel out of place or make Rayman look odd, either, unlike a certain skin in certain copies of Rayman Arena.

Raving Rabbids:
This was pretty much the same as the R3 design. I think the main difference was they made his roots a darker red? Which looked a little odd. As far as is different costumes go, I thought they were clever and funny but... with the addition to pants I became really confused as to whether Rayman actually had arms and legs or not. The model was rigged so the fabric folded as if he did indeed have legs and it's just like what the fuck dude, are your limbs just on an entirely separate plane of existence or what? Gotta love the goth and disco costumes, though.

Rayman Origins:
Oh geez, now his hair is just out of control. It's like the older Rayman gets, the more wild his hair becomes. One day his hair will be a literal lion's mane. I don't really have much else to say about this design. It's good, it looks like Rayman, and no particularly bad design choices stick out to me. I really like how well Bad Rayman's design transferred over, and hope to see him appear in a future game as it seemed he was meant to make an appearance in the cancelled R4.

So... Which design is your number one?

And I keep quoting you in the script! XD
You make good points.

Oh, sorry I didn't make that clear. :P

My favourite design is R3HH's design.

-What do you like about the series and what sets it apart from every other I.P.?

First of all, I love the character design. While Rayman is indeed the most unique, what with being limbless etc., characters like the Teensies and Globox are, while really simple in design, really lovable. Take Globox, for example - he's a lovable coward, and a funny one at that. He's one of those characters I liked from the very first time I saw them (maybe not the first, but eh). The series has great characters, and while there were a lot of failures like Tily, awesome entities like Polokus make up for it. And now, don't misunderstand me, while most video game series obviously have character development with interesting personas, the Rayman series stand out.

-Of every direction the series has gone, what did you like/dislike?

I like the change from Rayman 1 to Rayman 2 - noticeably darker, but still zany and somewhat wacky. However, Rayman 2 to Rayman 3 was not my cup of tea. I never loved Rayman 3, even if I liked it. I think Rayman 2 had the best atmosphere and feel out of all the Raymen.

-Which Rayman game do you feel had the greatest impact?

That depends on what you mean. In my opinion Rayman 2 was brilliant (aye, I can't hide my love for it) and definitely had an impact, but if I were to be honest, Rayman Origins attracted a lot of people... so in a way, it had the greatest impact indeed.

-Have you ever played Beyond Good and Evil? (Written/Directed by Rayman creator, Michel Ancel.)

Aye! I love that game! I 100%ed it multiple times, and I think it was awesome. I cannot wait for BG&E2 (OP will surely deliver).

-Where do you think the series should go after Rayman Legends?

Honestly, I have no idea. I lost my interest in Rayman shortly after I finished Rayman Origins. I wish I could relive the magic moments of Rayman 2 again, so I guess... I would enjoy a 3D platformer in the spirit of Rayman 2. Damn, I wish someone was making a game like that, perhaps set between Rayman 1 and Rayman 2, and perhaps it could be called something like "Revengeance of the Darkness" or something similar, I guess?

-What do you think of each Rayman design. (Starting with the original.)

Rayman 1 was nice, Rayman looked all cartoony, wacky, zany, asdf and silly. Not my favourite design, but it's fine.
Rayman 2 was, dare I say it again, brilliant, and the transition from 2D to 3D turned out wonderful.
Rayman 3 was awesome, and while I don't like the game as much, Rayman looked really good.
Rayman Origins ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Rayman Legends is actually my favourite look. It's Rayman 3, but better, I suppose.

Rayman 1's design couldn't feel more familiar to me. It was when I saw the character for the first time, and already thought it was really original and cute-looking. When Rayman 2 was released, I think that they simply did the perfect design. They did the improvements that the character was requiring in visual and it really worked. When Rayman 3 was announced, I remind being annoyed for "ruining it". I didn't like the new hair and the eyes. Nowadays I can live with R3/RO design, but I always felt it was an unnecessary change just to please the non-Rayman fan audience by making the character looking badass just by the way of dressing.

Just to clarify. This video is NOT a review of each Rayman game. It is a look back on what Rayman was and what it became in the eyes of the fanbase over its rich history. So far you guys have been doing great. :)
Thankyou so much, and keep sharing!
