ThisRayfanboy wrote:Indeed, my love for R2 does have slight bias. Not to say that Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc was without magical moments, but for me they just are too far and to few. The beginning at The Fairy Council was full of magic (Murphy's commentary excluded), but after that the magic didn't return until The Land Of The Livid Dead, The Dessert Of Knarren was nice in an erie way, after that the game basically dragged on until The Summit Beyond The Clouds, then ruined with the poorly executed snowboard level. Then some more levels and the finale. The game just has too many odd out of place spots and it feels like you are simply dragging your best pal along with you on a tedious journey to find a doctor who can get Andre out of Globox, instead of saving the world from complete destruction all at once. It seems that far too much is all happening at the same time, fiasco after fiasco, the game drags on a tad more than it should because of the design decisions made. Don't get me wrong, I DO like R3, but I also dislike it in some respects, it's not really its humor, but the overall execution of the adventure, it feels like it tries too hard to make an appealing game instead of a magical one. It simply doesn't live up to the standards set by R1 and R2. Forgive me if I still sound like a biased troll, these are just my views.Adsolution wrote:I completely agree, and I've had it for fourteen years.Rayfanboy wrote:I agree with Haruka, Rayman 2 has the most replay value of the series for me, I've played through almost every version of the game, I just need to complete the PC and iOS ports. The adventure never loses its sense of magic for me, it is just as heartwarming as it was when I first picked it up 3 years ago.
I honestly don't understand this. Some of the music and a lot of the environments are some of the most beautiful and magical seen in a Rayman game to date. I think that anyone who says it has no magic at all and blames the game's humour for everything is probably coming in from their biased love toward Rayman 2. The humour was for the most part quite background and naturally played out, and for quite a few levels there isn't any dialogue at all.Rayfanboy wrote:R3 on the other hand has hardly any magic at all, and that of magic moments that do exist are covered up with cheap jokes and bad voice-overs.
Rayman 3 is good but it is my least favorite in the four main games. I found the jokes and the sexual allusions more annoying than funny (especialy in the french version). I also think the game too easy (i died once or twice and found every cages in the first run. That didn't happened to me in the other games even origins). The land of livid deads or the summits are part of my favorite levels through. I often hear how much the rabbids destroyed the franchise but for me R3 already took the wacky path which lead to them.

Re: Rayman Legends
If it wasn't for the sex jokes, Rayman 3 would be an excellent game. Seriously. The superpowers were an excellent addition that made the game feel unique.
Re: Rayman Legends
I didn't hear any of them jokes.sergiomonty wrote:sex jokes
Re: Rayman Legends
I don't recall any sexual jokes either. I think maybe the worst ever said was "We're gonna be rated PG-13!" when you hit Globox, but feel free to remind me of any quotes I might be forgetting.
Re: Rayman Legends
I listened to the Dialogue a lot in the game and didn't hear any weird jokes

Begoniax. Methinks she's the deepest the game gets.
Also, try to hit one of the rats you see.

Re: Rayman Legends
What about calling Rayman a rapist in the Polish version
Re: Rayman Legends
They were mostly subtle. In English the ones that come to mind are Murphy's banter just before entering the Fairy Council, Begonaix just before jumping through the mirror, and the lady's voice in Hoodlum Headquarters.Spanex wrote:I don't recall any sexual jokes either. Re: Rayman Legends
Has anyone actually tried hitting the rats, in the Fairy Council and Knareen Tunnels?
Re: Rayman Legends
Yes, Slogbait. From what our Polish member Rulez affirms.
Also, since Master mentioned Bégoniax, according to official sources she transforms male victims into toads to late rape them.
@Master Yep, the rats too.

I prefer to not imagine in case Rayman was defeated by her.(...) She doesn't know what to do with her tadpoles.
@Master Yep, the rats too.
Re: Rayman Legends
Well in that case, Globox was right!

Re: Rayman Legends
Good ol' "sources" talking complete crap as always. Wouldn't have been the first time such a rumour cropped up too.
Re: Rayman Legends
This is a little off-topic but I think the Harlem Shake reached the San Francisco studios of Ubisoft:

Re: Rayman Legends
I'm so ashamed of that stupid meme.... the song is freaking annoying and the lyrics only say "With the terrorists!!!.." in spanish.
Re: Rayman Legends
I also dislike the Harlem Shake, I don't find it anything special. I bet that in 6 months nobody will remind this and be doing this.

I'm giving it 1 month
Re: Rayman Legends
I completely despise the Harlem Shake. I know a few people who are contributing to this madness, and I have lost all respect I have ever had in them.

Even Nintendo is doing it:
The harlem shake was funny... for 2 days. This is the whole Gangman style thing all over again, people get all EXCITED over it, and it dies out within a month.

Re: Rayman Legends
maybe the most sexual allusions are in the french version. For the most I remember: Murphy in the beginning say "how is your sausage?" when you fell. André in the missil part "haha You missed the hole. I wonder how you are doing with girls". Two knaren are fighting "Mine is bigger than your" before it's revealed they are talking about their hoods, and othersMinor-T5 wrote:I didn't hear any of them jokes.sergiomonty wrote:sex jokes
