They aren't even trying anymore. This is the kind of meme that the popular douchebags on your school put on their Facebook pages to look cool, because they think they have a sense of humor by doing so.

Re: Rayman Legends
"All the sex jokes" prevented Rayman 3 from being a good game? For one, they're all very subtle and would probably fly over most kid's heads, just like in a number of Disney films. Actually, they're almost exactly comparable in that sense. For two, said subtle sex jokes, as few as they actually were, prevent a game from being excellent? How?sergiomonty wrote:If it wasn't for the sex jokes, Rayman 3 would be an excellent game.
Re: Rayman Legends
I remind there is the word "sex" on the starry sky of the Lion King I. But its pretty well hidden in a way that kids couldn't see it and most adults either I believe.
Re: Rayman Legends
Actually, it's supposed to spell "SFX" as a "signature" created by the films animators and effects team. But yes, it's a common misconception because the words are too alike to know it.
Re: Rayman Legends
Coming back to the Harlem Shake for second. What are the videos supposed to do that makes it funny? It's just... people being random. Am I missing the point?

I don't see what's wrong with the Harlem Shake. Yeah, it's one of those new widespread memes, but it's not like it has any sort of annoying context that can be said just about anywhere like Arrow to the Knee.

Re: Rayman Legends
A good game? no, never said that. I fucking love R3. A perfect game? here's the deal. The gameplay was excellent, the music was... well... good. The graphics were amazing by that time. The humour... well, it totally destroyed the lighthearted spirit from previous Rayman games, even more than Rayman Origins... no wait, Origins has magic boobies, forget about that.Adsolution wrote:"All the sex jokes" prevented Rayman 3 from being a good game?sergiomonty wrote:If it wasn't for the sex jokes, Rayman 3 would be an excellent game.

I'm not entirely sure what your definition for "lighthearted spirit" is if you think a bunch of subtle sex jokes destroyed it in both games.

you're taking it like I hate the fucking gamesSlogbait wrote: I'm not entirely sure what your definition for "lighthearted spirit" is if you think a bunch of subtle sex jokes destroyed it in both games.
Re: Rayman Legends
No, I'm not. Nothing in what I said even remotely implied that. I'm taking it exactly as you said it, and it's just leaving me confused. Especially in the instance of Rayman Origins. That entire game is the definition of lighthearted even with the unnecessary tits. Even the most serious parts of R3HH were played for laughs, and there weren't very many heavy moments. I think the hardest hitter in the entire game was Andre's very apparent fear at the very end, which completely caught me off guard the first time I played the game. And as far as the jokes destroying the lighthearted spirit of the previous games? I'm pretty sure R2 was the least lighthearted game in the series. Whatever words you were looking for to describe what the jokes take away from the games, "lighthearted spirit" weren't the right ones.

Re: Rayman Legends
what's your definition of lighthearted spirit, dear sir?
Re: Rayman Legends
The actual definition of lighthearted spirit, also sir. Carefree, happy, uplifting. Something that doesn't take itself too seriously would be lighthearted. Rayman Origins was very carefree and happy the entire time, as if nothing was wrong in the first place. R3HH didn't take itself seriously, making every situation humorous in some way or another. Despite the worlds being in supposed danger, everyone and everything gives off a very carefree and happy vibe. Even the Knaarens were a massive joke, albeit pretty morbid ones.

The storyline is grim at the start, but exactly because Rayman traverses through all those treacherous places and in the process saves his friends and the planet, it is more light-hearted than you'd think. The music really helps accomplish that, as well as the fights with the Pirates, which are, no matter how you put it, still very cartoony and sometimes filled with some humour. Especially Lunette, who is probably best described as a comic relief character, is good at making the Pirates look like slapstick-obedient villains at times.Slogbait wrote:I'm pretty sure R2 was the least lighthearted game in the series.
Maybe that's what people dislike most about Globox's change between R2 and R3 - in R2, the stupid villainous Pirate got to be the comic relief character - nobody cares about villains. In R3, they had to pick someone that was always near - Globox - and as a result, rendered him stupendous so he'd fit the archetype of a slapstick-controlled clown.

Okay. Then the word I was looking for was "innocent", I guess.Slogbait wrote:The actual definition of lighthearted spirit, also sir. Carefree, happy, uplifting. Y'know, it'd be pretty cool if you could block some attacks in this game...particularly those from other players.

I hope not, that was one of the most fun things about RO's co-op...Shrooblord wrote:I think players can no longer harm each other.
