Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Blimey, that looks superb, with creatures like those inhabiting the world, it would be fantastic.
Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Awesome work that you both did!
It leaves me more expectant about the game.

As everyone said, the model and animation both look incredible. Great work on this!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I love how detailed it is, given that it's probably only supposed to act as part of the scenery - leaves me wondering what other beauties we'll encounter. Good job, the two of ye!

Thanks everyone! There'll be quite a lot to discover, including dancing mushrooms, Popolopoï, them lackins, fish, birds, and more.
And now I've got these familiar (faces):

I was there while she were in the progress of it, haha, no but really, great job Adsolution, you really captured the movements of them from Rayman 2 perfectly. The breaking out of it though is certainly new, could lead to some big jump scares in quiet areas, haha, kidding, great idea though!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
That's really neatly animated! However, I think that the sound may be too explosion-like and the texture might be too similar to the wall. Maybe the Nettle could have a slight pink hue to it, like in Rayman 2?
Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Nice! Those are actually one of my least favorite enemies because they're so annoying.

This is brutal! I think I would jump out of my chair if I had the sound loud but without any music: awesome to scare players.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Great, Ad!
Have you, for the time being (while you await a texturing job), created the Nettle to follow the texture of whatever it is that it's busting out of, or have you textured both the wall and the object with the same texture just for ease of the moment? Or is it actually supposed to have that texture?

Hahah, I'll definitely make that their first appearance. A peaceful forest atmosphere... bewm.Haruka wrote:This is brutal! I think I would jump out of my chair if I had the sound loud but without and music: awesome to scare players.
At the moment they're just textured the same, however, PowerPatrick presented the idea of using voxels to create a crater, thus they would literally be a direct expansion of the terrain.Shrooblord wrote:Great, Ad!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I like the idea, but I'd also like to see a distinct appearance. Maybe you could have different 'skins' for Nettles in different worlds? It seems a bit odd to make them the same texture as the surrounding terrain, because it makes it look like part of the terrain has come alive in organic shapes, instead of making it look like there's plant-like organisms hidden in the walls that are busting out their roots (or branches, I guess). But maybe that's what you want to achieve.
Oh, or did you mean the crater itself, but not the Nettle plant?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Now that you mention it, Shrooblord, it would be awesome if Ad was making nettles like in Rayman M/Arena/Rush: different typed depending of their surrounding environment.

And ja, I do plan on making differently textured ones depending on the environment. But as of now, this is just a test texture. Spanex will be texturing it shortly.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I just remembered I absolutely adore that swiveling whispery sound they make as they idle. All sounds associated with the Nettles are great, really. Are you going to include them?
I've got a whole area and plot-point in my game devoted to and revolving around Nettles, actually.

Daym Impressive.
Also, I know it's not the point of the video, but I love the lums flying around, nice touch.

Very impressive! I could picture it somewhat making me jump, haha.
