Re: Rayman M-Arena
I also couldn't make it work, it is sad because I would like to play RM online with other people.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I believe I may have Rayman M... it's either M or Arena, I'm not sure... I haven't touched it in years.
If it's M it would be awesome to have online play!
Too bad it doesn't work :/

Re: Rayman M-Arena
It would actually be interesting for Ubisoft to develop an official bona fide online Rayman multiplayer game. I don't ever expect it to happen given their (completely justified) lack of confidence in the market, but amongst all this talk of multiplaying, the concept is epic...
Is anyone still playing Rayman M, by the way? I remember the genuine competitive spirit this forum had for the game half a decade ago. =(

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I still play the game. It was the very first Rayman game I bought, and I still like to play it. Something I always wished was the existence of an online mode, but the only time I have adversaries is when I see Clara in flesh, where we have a lot of fun due to the competition.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I still play Arena from time to time. I've always been particularly fond of the racing bits. It's the only game I can think of off the top of my head that has racing done while platforming, all the while still being entirely playable, as opposed to go karts. Lum fights came in close second, I just wish it was more polished. (the ps2 version, at least. I've never had the chance to play the others so I'm unsure if they have the same problems as the PS2 version.)

Well, name those problems and we'll tell you.Slogbait wrote:I still play Arena from time to time. I've always been particularly fond of the racing bits. Re: Rayman M-Arena
Mainly the horrible camera and lag. Both were especially noticeable playing split screen, where it became nearly impossible to play because no one could see where they were going, much less get a reasonable estimate of when the game was going to register their attack because of how severe the lag would get. It would eventually devolve into a cluster fuck of unfun and we'd just switch game modes since that clearly wasn't working.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
At least I wasn't experiencing any lag in PC version. I also find sad there are missing Lums and Popolopoï in the PS2 version for some odd reason.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Rayman Rush at 100%, just finished yesterday.
Thought i'd share that 100% is possible.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Whoa, what the fuck?
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Wait, what? 100%? Not the 98,8 or anything? What did you do for that?
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Rayrobi, are you trying to cheat us agen?
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Why would i?Rulez wrote:Rayrobi, are you trying to cheat us agen?
Well, at first i was doing a speedrun of the game in the second profile in 2 hours 37 minutes, so i broke quite many records throughout the game. And after i tried to break every single record in the first profile. And before the last Popolopoi, i already had 98%, meaning that if i complete it i get 2% and then it will be 100%. So i'm more than sure that it's something related to time records.Haruka wrote:Wait, what? 100%? Not the 98,8 or anything? What did you do for that?
Also, do you remember the Target times in Lums mode? All of those are impossible to beat - as in the Canopy, you have to get 40 lums and complete the race in 2:00.00 , meaning that you have thrice as much time ( in seconds ) as the number of lums, but even though only 2:10-2:11 is known to be possible - but there are some target times that i have beaten ( about 3-5 ).
So, over all, i do believe that there is something with the times.
Also, i still have the game save as a memory card file, as the whole game was done in ePSXe 1.8.0, and it is also uploaded to my SkyDrive storage.
Rulez: If you don't trust me, i can do a whole walkthrough of the game, though it would be very long to record due to incredibly high amount of game freezes.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I trust you. Possibly it IS the time records and stuff.

Another day, another mystery solved.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Holy cow, that would mean that my Rayman Rush walkthrough isn't that complete? Ugh, I don't want to start from scratch, and I would need to test the theory.

Every once in a while, Marklar and I play the game against each other for a few rounds.Xenon wrote:Is anyone still playing Rayman M, by the way? I remember the genuine competitive spirit this forum had for the game half a decade ago. =(
What I've always wondered about Rayman M was one thing in Zenith Harbour: when you're in that swampy murky area with the floating rotating platforms overhead, there's one Purple Lum all the way at the top and the end of that area, right before the pier with the cameo Warships. What is it there for? It doesn't lead to anything, it doesn't help you get anywhere special. It's just there.
I've never experienced lag in any game from before 2005 ever. I wonder what people are doing wrong nowadays. Maybe they're just pushing the limits more than they used to.Slogbait wrote:Mainly the horrible camera and lag.
And great job, Rayrobi!
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I grabbed my copy of Rayman Rush and I have a 99,2% save file. Do you mean I should repeat the Lums mode to beat my records?
EDIT: Holy cow, you're right! I replayed the Canopy in the Popolopoï mode, I beat my personal record and my percentage went from 99,2% to 99,5%!

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Ah, if only we could bring that back. The forum's mood lately seems more cuddly and settled than it used to, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, I just miss the 'attitude.'Xenon wrote:Is anyone still playing Rayman M, by the way? Re: Rayman M-Arena
We had a topic of Rayman M scores but it ended up dying since nobody was posting their records.
