Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I'm curious, I'd assume that you're using a health system akin to Rayman 2 and 3, so what purpose will the tings provide?

Hah those musical tings are nice! I also like that pick-Tings-in-the-right-order idea.
Will you put secret areas in the game like those in R3?

Maybe to purchase powers/objects?Master4lyf1 wrote:I'm curious, I'd assume that you're using a health system akin to Rayman 2 and 3, so what purpose will the tings provide?

Hmm, akin to what Rings are used in some Sonic games.
That does make sense.

That's about right. Most major upgrades will be bought through tings.

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Yep.

I decided that I could start showcasing some of our new environmental assets. Here's some grass Spanex textured! (I assembled it into the engine):

Of course! There will probably be quite a lot more in this game actually. That isn't to say that you won't regret finding any of them.Robotic Teensie wrote:Will you put secret areas in the game like those in R3?

Saying that it's simply beautiful would be an understatement.

That is amazing! Does that grass consist of 2D or 3D models?Adsolution wrote: I decided that I could start showcasing some of our new environmental assets. Here's some grass Spanex textured!

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Just 2D, except each texture has a normal map to give it that extra depth. I could also tessellate the grass to literally make it 3D, but for some reason tessellation only works on models that have a completely enclosed enterior and exterior.Robotic Teensie wrote:That is amazing! Also, have fun exploring!
Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Beautiful grass, I must say! I really like it, it reminds me the old Rayman 4 trailer with the fleeing Teensies.

What? I just want to give some money. Can I now or can't I do this?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
I mean, what's the point? What would this money go towards besides me buying new, extremely expensive conveniences?
I suppose you technically can 'donate' if you really, really want to; what did you have in mind out of curiosity?

OK?.. Are you trying to tell me in an indirect way, that you don't need my money because this wouldn't help your project at all?

I edited my post before you replied:
For example, I've been looking into buying a harp, but those things cost thousands of moolah.

Well, unless it's quite a generous donation, then it probably wouldn't. The only things that money would benefit are simply better equipment, hardware or software for myself, that would of course in one way or another tie into the development the game.emshomar wrote:OK?.. Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
The fact is that it is a fangame so Ad' probably doesn't want money to make it real. As the project isn't in its final steps maybe it's too early to talk about this kind of stuff. or she wants you to be clear enough to answer you.
Aw, it's very hard to comment on a smartphone (my first time sorry for typos :-o).
EDIT : huhuhu you answered before that's not fair ;-)
